I thought the commentary was very even. If anything, leaning more towards Villa.  Who was the pundit alongside? He seemed to have good knowledge about the club which is very unusual.

Nigel Spackman, agree he was very complimentary.
The HT coverage was somewhat biased though, talking up two skied Liverpool efforts as certain goals.

Sounded like Clive Allen on the stream I watched. Was saying we were the best youth side he'd seen in years and generally being lovely about us.

Spot on write up. The big thing for me is the point about a particular playing style running through the club. When the first team hit top gear like for instance, Burnley away first half, Arsenal away, Palace at home the similarities are there for all to see. The style of play, the exuberance, the crisp passing and creating chances for fun seems to be running through the veins of all age groups. Even the best teams struggle to cope when we perform that way. Even dare I say Man City away were rocked by us and needed some very helpful decisions from the officials to overcome us. And I fully concur with the comment about the biased commentary last night. The co-commentator somehow managed to make it sound like we were under cosh in the second half and we were only able to try and catch them on the break. Utter rubbish. They did have more of the ball in the second half, inevitably, but the young lions were still the dominant team and created by far the better chances. But I've come to expect biased commentary whenever we play one of the scab 6 at any level. It makes victories against them so much sweeter.

Great performance by the Villa Youth .But for the thickness of the post a couple of times and some near misses  the scousers could have conceded  another 7
