Take that Levy you prick. We should have won by a fucking boatload more. 2-1 doesn't do us justice at all. Superb win.
-
Great stuff.
-
Brilliant! Could and should have been more.
Buy a top quality winger and DM and we are getting there.
-
Harry Kane waving goodbye. Glad we could help with the party.
-
The Unpredictables
-
Some promising signs there, better subs, great debuts and solod across the park. Nakamba MOTM for me.
-
Grealish makes all the difference but McGinn MOTM for me. Ran the midfield.
-
Brilliant win and performance so pleased and brilliant to see a couple of the youngsters get a run out they were impressive.
-
'Kin' hell!
This has made a beautiful evening even more beautiful!
-
Chukwuemeka looked very interesting...
-
Well for once I'm guessing no criticism of Dean Smith. It was bit like this weeks inside number 9 one for the fans.
-
Some promising signs there, better subs, great debuts and solod across the park. Nakamba MOTM for me.
dodgy first 20 or so but he was great thereafter
-
Did you know they put the fans upstairs so as not to piss off the sponsors ? What a two-bob bunch of wankers.
-
We were excellent at times tonight, Watkins and Traore could've had 2-3 each. The latter was my motm, yes he was frustrating at times but almost all the chances he didn't take were created by him first and he completely dismantled Reguilon who put in one of the worst performances I've seen from a fullback in years.
Credit to Konsa and Mings as well had Son and Kane in their respective pockets.
-
That’s it then, 11th it is. Progress
-
Glorious. ESL my arse. After a shaky start, we settled down really well and that winning margin does the crafty cockerknees as right favour. Be great to see Ollie notch another for a 15 goal Premier League start. If we can sort that physicality issue in the centre of the park, we will be fine. Shout out to Tyrone, was excellent. Great win. Guarantee's 11th spot.
-
Yep, great stuff. Brave subs at the end as well that worked in giving us energy and more possession.
You perhaps would've expected a win at Palace and loss tonight so par maybe.
All out for the win on Sunday now. Still fuming about the pen though.
-
That seals 11th place.
-
Great result! Good that the 2 youngsters made their debuts. Mason needs to be given their job full-time and the cheating kane needs to f-ck off to a big club.
UTFV!
-
Great win, thank you Villa!
-
I assume we're back to thinking Smith's job is as safe as houses, 'cos it fooking should be.
-
Superb. Dominated the whole game after the equaliser. The kids came on and looked good. We broke 50pts. Everyone was great, with perhaps McGinn as my MOTM. So pleased with this. Sure we let a lots of chances go, but better creating a load and missing them, than creating none.
Screw you King Egbert, screw you Bale!
-
We were so much better than them. Christ I hope Jack stays, the difference he makes is absolutely scary. A great win for Dean after the rough patch, not to mention the horrorshow against Palace.
Carney and Jaden looked like they completely belonged out there. Shame Carney's shot couldn't put the cherry on the cake though!
-
So many top performances. How good were Chucky and Jaden when they came on.
Brilliant.
-
Grealish makes all the difference but McGinn MOTM for me. Ran the midfield.
Jack makes us play 15 yards further up the pitch from the start. He allows everyone else to catch up and squeeze the opponents to their 18 yard box. I can see why any top team would want him.
-
Yippee! Very well deserved and a smashing little cameo at the end from the two youngsters.
-
Probably my favourite win of the season that.
Breaks the mental cycle of misery v Spurs so we won't be fearing these matches next season and loved the cameo from the young lads at the end, Carney looks very very special, similar to when I first saw Jack gliding around the turf.
All pretty comfortable in the second half, we should've scored more than twice, our decision making on counter attack needs a bit of work as that's what seperates us from the top lot.
We will finish above Spurs next season if they sell Kane.
-
Aye the two youngsters looked really composed when they came on. Cracking stuff.
-
So many top performances. How good were Chucky and Jaden when they came on.
Brilliant.
I totally agree they were brilliant.
-
Such a great tonic after Sunday's disappointment
-
Excellent performance, apologies for moaning pre game. Delighted with all of them.
Marvelous brilliant after an early mistake, McGinn probably man of the match. All the defenders were great and Emi was Emi.
Super Jack is back, and we look better with him already. Good confidence boost to see it out without him.
The two babbies looked alright, too, didn't they? 🙂
-
Play like that most of the time and we will be behind you 100% and it makes the really shit performances more frustrating. Well done tonight, well deserved, Sky are well fucked off so job done.
-
Grealish makes all the difference but McGinn MOTM for me. Ran the midfield.
Agreed. He was everywhere.
But good all over the park. Loved it.
-
Delicious.
-
Excellent from all the team tonight and Deano got the subs right. Absolutely bossed Spurs.
-
Awesome. Special mention for Nakamba, doing a good job after a nightmare start.
-

Nakamba started both halves poorly but was brilliant outside of those 2 ten minute spells. First half he obviously gave away the goal 2nd haf he was caught napping by Son and Kane in the space of a few minutes.
-
Such a great tonic after Sunday's disappointment
the thing is Sunday should have looked just like this. In fact it did in the first half when we should have led by loads more than we did.
-
Our game management in the closes stages with Ollie, Chuck and Jaden was superb as well. We bossed the arrogant fuckwits.
-
Did you know they put the fans upstairs so as not to piss off the sponsors ? What a two-bob bunch of wankers.
And the pints are £12 upstairs compared to £10 downstairs.
-
Great stuff. I thought we’d fold after going behind but delighted they proved me wrong. Hopefully the ice on Jack’s shin is just a preventative thing. Great for Chucky and JPB to get on.
-
Aye the two youngsters looked really composed when they came on. Cracking stuff.
Totally agree, thought they were brilliant, made a huge difference at the end.
-
Well played Villa. Shout out to Hause as well, always seems to slot in well when called upon.
Carney looked ace. If he keeps that up there’s Barkley’s replacement right there.
Jack though. What an absolute Rolls-Royce of a footballer.
-
Sorry I have to say again the decision by VAR to not award a penalty for the foul on Oli in the first half is possibly the worst decision I have ever seen by VAR. How Kane could be awarded a pen at Villa Park and that not be given is scandalous
-
Did you know they put the fans upstairs so as not to piss off the sponsors ? What a two-bob bunch of wankers.

Twelve fucking pound!
-
Sorry I have to say again the decision by VAR to not award a penalty for the foul on Oli in the first half is possibly the worst decision I have ever seen by VAR. How Kane could be awarded a pen at Villa Park and that not be given is scandalous
There has to be some consistency to it all. Ollie was taken out.
-
Superb stuff Villa, SJM MOTM, bring on Chelsea!
UP THE VILLA
-
Only saw last 20 odd minutes but delighted with the result. Nice to have a bit of feelgood back. On to Chelsea.
-
Big well done to Hause. Seldom lets us down when called upon. Likewise Marvellous 👍
-

Yeah I was fuming at that, you wont see a more clear cut penalty. Bollocks that the ball was going out. The ball was going out when Jack was scythed down at Albion, that didnt stop it from being a foul and red card.
Absolute bollocks decision and then you hear Kevin Friend is VAR and then it all makes sense, I thought that ****** was banned from officiating us due to his obvious Villa bias? I hope the reason he clearly dislikes us is because a Villa fan ran off with his wife. ******.
-
Aint fair, Arry distracted and leaving.
Great result, hard to believe we have not beat these tossers in 18 attempts.
Should have buried them, chance after chance.
Great cameos by the two youngsters, SJM MOM for me , chased, harried and won back the ball. no problem at the back and apart from not shooting when he should have Trarore gave an improved showing.
-
Grealish at 10 and Nakamba at DM - much better balance to the whole team.
-
Re. Olli denied pen : VAR was Kevin Friend, I'm not surprised at all.
Excellent performance by all, special mention for the debutantes who looked very conformable in the few minutes they were given.
-
Great stuff. I thought we’d fold after going behind but delighted they proved me wrong. Hopefully the ice on Jack’s shin is just a preventative thing. Great for Chucky and JPB to get on.
Do we play Jack on Sunday or keep him fresh for the Euros? Thoughts peeps....?
-
Absolutely fantastic after a shaky start. Credit to the team and manager. Lots of promise there.
-
Really enjoyed that and we should of been out of sight with some of the chance we had. Great to see Jack get more minutes under his belt and well done Dean for introducing Carney and Jaden. Definitely more to come from those two. Special mentions for both McGinn and Nakamba, I thought they were both excellent tonight.
-
Excellent performance against spurs and a dodgy ref. Scoreline flattered spurs.
-
I really enjoyed that, though the fact we didn't win 7-1 was perhaps a microcosm of the season.
One shout out, and that's for Matt Targett - his season has been the best of any Villa left back since Steve Staunton, in my view. His ability to pick out a pass and keep possession for the team when under pressure is superb.
-
Gave up watching when we conceded early on.
Switched the radio on at ht: 2-1 up.
I knew what needed to be done and did NOT be watch the 2nd half.
Your gratitude is appreciated.
-
First time in ages I've been biting my nails in the last ten minutes but boy did we deserve the win. Should have been by more but the workrate was brilliant. We pressed them like we did against so many teams before the new year, special mention for SJM, he's back. It is a very important win. Great to see the two lads come on at the end but more than anything, we have something to build on and it's pretty obvious where we need to bring in better players.
Martinez brilliant as usual
The defence solid right across and took no prisoners.
Marvelous grew with the game after his two early assists.
SJM and Jack are just a delight to watch for different reasons.
Traore could/should have had four or five
Ollie not his sharpest but his effort and never say die attitude got him a deserved goal.
Bring on Chelsea.
-
Nine away wins in the league is decent and seconds away from it being 10 at Newcastle.
-
That was fantastic, something I wasn’t honestly expecting.
We should have battered them, we had so many chances and opportunities.
..and those two boys getting some time at the end was perfect.
The cherry on top was the plastic Spurs fans, booing their team off at half time and full time after not seeing them for so long. Every bit as plastic as Man City.
-
I give H & V full credit for this victory.
For the first time this season we criticised the team and management and it knocked them out the comfort zone. Dean experimented and the lads played a blinder. Well done all,

Agreed. Has most definitely made the transition the top PL quality. I had my doubts but fair play to him as he stuck at it. Solid.
-
Play him. Sod the Euros.
-
I wasn’t biting my nails like some. I never thought they’d score. They are a mess. We was walking through them at times. A good there points. Never in doubt after Watkins goal.
-
Play him. Sod the Euros.
sod Southgate too.
-
So where in the ground will our fans be on Sunday?

Agree. I reckon Targett is my Player of the Year.
-
Play him. Sod the Euros.
Absolutely
-
Play him. Sod the Euros.
sod Southgate too.
But .......it would be a pisser if he took a setback from Sunday and we and the world didn’t see him in his best pomt taking the piss in the summer....?

To be fair, I don't think that deserves the 'plastic' epithet. If your team is shit, which Tottenham have been for most of the season, and very much so tonight, the fans are entitled to show their thoughts. 'Plastic' would be clapping them off regardless.
-
Did you know they put the fans upstairs so as not to piss off the sponsors ? What a two-bob bunch of wankers.

Twelve fucking pound!
Is that true?? Jesus f***ing Christ. Corporate ESL tossers!!
We were simply superb for most of the game. Like another poster I feared a collapse after they went 1-0, but that’s more to do with how villa have been, not this lot. Not consistent, lost games they shouldn’t but they never just give up.
Grealish just retains the ball better than almost anyone in the league, in simple terms it means it’s doesn’t keep coming back at the other midfielders and defenders, giving them time to compose themselves and play their football.
Thought it was Nakambas best game for villa but smith did right to take him off as he was tiring and liable to give the ball away. McGinn was superb and shades my MOM in front of Mings, who was just simply our leader!
And great to see the kids on, they looked very composed. How easy was that extra 6 mins
-
Play him. Sod the Euros.
sod Southgate too.
But .......it would be a pisser if he took a setback from Sunday and we and the world didn’t see him in his best pomt taking the piss in the summer....?
Fuck England, Villa are the priority.

Agree. I reckon Targett is my Player of the Year.
And mine.
-
I wasn’t biting my nails like some.
It was that part where Jack went off, I thought we looked a little lost for a few minutes but the kids soon took back control and all was good in the world again.
-
I really enjoyed that, though the fact we didn't win 7-1 was perhaps a microcosm of the season.

Yep and me. A close first just edging it in front of Martinez. I’m sure if Jack would have stayed fit he’d have run away with it.
-
That was probably the most menacing we've looked as a team since Burnley away. Enjoyable win, but we really should have gave them a hammering with the chances we had.
On our day, we can turn it on against any team in the league. Today's scoreline should have resembled the plôp match because the performance certainly warranted it.
I want us to spend preseason improving our heading from set-pieces. I've lost count at the amount of times either Konsa, Mings, Hause or whoever else has blazed a free header wide or over when it looked easier to score.
-
There was a part of me that liked the idea of signing Ali next season. After watching that I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. It would 100% be Barkley the 2nd.
-
Well that's lifted my spirits somewhat. Well done Villa. Definite penalty btw.
-
In fairness to some older Spurs fans for all the money they have had over the years and some really excellent players to have won literally nothing in absolutely ages has to be massively frustrating. And they have some no name manager, are about to lose their best player and their board tried to move them to a league none of them wanted to be a part of. As a club they are the southern Newcastle.
-
I started watching with an attitude I didn't care too much as it was a meaningless end of season game. Then by the end I was pacing around a nervous wreck. Great performance all round
-
Stunning . Like the Liverpool home performance..could have been 7 . SJM wow , think he went up 2 levels with Jack back . Absolutely over the moon tonight with that , we are going to be very good next season .
-
Much much better. Arguably our best away win of the season
-
Super League Spurs, lol.
After a sloppy start we recovered and were excellent. Should have been a more emphatic win - the chances we created, it could have been another seven score line. Great stuff.
-
So many top performances. How good were Chucky and Jaden when they came on.
Brilliant.
Very admirable and brave from Smith to stick on two kids when when were defending a narrow lead away from home.
-
Birmingham Live gave Mings MOTM. I would have gone for Nakamba.
I reckon Jack would prefer to play in the next game for some extra match sharpness.
I am usually a big fan of Son but he was pretty anonymous tonight.
-
There was a part of me that liked the idea of signing Ali next season. After watching that I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. It would 100% be Barkley the 2nd.
Absolutely! I watched him closely especially first half and despite a couple of nice touches I couldn't think of one reason why we would want him. We're looking to replace the passengers, not provide a bus for them. And besides, what was he doing turning up in fancy dress? I saw a short video of a meeting he had when Mourinho first rolled into Spurs. Mourinho had his number.
-
Well that's lifted my spirits somewhat. Well done Villa. Definite penalty btw.
Yes, most definitely, that was a good tonic to a really shit day. I missed the match due to an incident with my mom and spent the best part of the day with her in accident and emergency.
Nice to hear we’ve played well and got a deserved win. Pleased for the young lads coming on and good to see Ollie score again.
-
Nothing like seeing a volley screamimg into the net to get you started!
Well done, Deano; he got the selection, shape and game management spot on. In the pre-match thread a lot of people were dreading the thought of Son and co up against Elmo. Instead Konsa looked very composed and didn't give them a sniff.
The pressing and pace of counter attack so much better than recently (obviously aided by Jack's return). I too thought, after a shaky start, Nakamba did well...and I also felt Douglas Luiz looked useful further forward.
Great to see the kids on at the end. It looks like the future's bright!
-

Son came up against one of the top defenders in Europe when it comes to not being dribbled past playing out of position.
-
Some really great performances tonight. SJM MOTM for me. Thought Marv did great after his initial balls up. Defence looked excellent as well. And for those berating Dean Smith since the Palace game and touting his potential replacement well that talk should be stopped now. The owners have a vision and Smith is clearly part of that. The two kids getting on tonight and looking so relaxed will have the owners feeling vindicated with their vision for the Villa. They looked like a couple of kids being given a chance to play with the big boys. There was no fear just natural youthful exuberance and it was a joy to behold. And there's more to come. Gives me a warm glow. Or perhaps it's the beers I enjoyed watching the match. The future is ours. The future is claret and blue.
-
Well that's lifted my spirits somewhat. Well done Villa. Definite penalty btw.

Hope your mom is doing well Ian
-
I thought we were excellent tonight, McGinniesta was immense and drove the midfield on linking up the midfield and attack superbly. Should have been a nailed on penalty and really the team could have had five goals tonight.
Also well done Dean, made the right subs at the right time, what a huge team improvement from last seasons remakable escape.
-
I suppose they'll change the rules tomorrow! and make it a penalty for a foul in the box;)
-
Our play was generally excellent tonight. Only disappointment was not getting another 2 or 3 goals which our play deserved.
-
Well that's lifted my spirits somewhat. Well done Villa. Definite penalty btw.

All the best to your Mum, hope she is okay and gets well soon.
-
Smashing.
I hate spurs with a passion (the lower case 's' is deliberate) and for that reason I've enjoyed this result even more than the Liverpool home win.
Martinez was brilliant, McGinn was probably MOTM although you must appreciate the help he had from Nakamba - if that was there Vs Palace we would have won that game too.
Jack was great but slower and less direct than before his injury, understandably I guess. No question we missed him when he went off, which brings me to my final point ...
At a point when we are under real pressure, and the opposition have thrown every roll of the dice their bench will allow, and we merely have to chuck on a couple of sixth formers to not only spoil their momentum but actually finish the stronger side, well, the future looks very bright Indeed.
As I said. Smashing .
-
Best own goal I have seen in years.
-
oh also fuck off the sky commentator , talking about watkins replacing Kane at spurs , as if
-
SJM MOTM for me. You might think this was down to Jack affording him so much more space, but even when it looked pretty congested, he came away with the ball.
-
oh also fuck off the sky commentator , talking about watkins replacing Kane at spurs , as if
Ridiculous suggestion. I don't see why they would want to get 120m for Kane and then go and spend 175m on Watkins. It makes no sense.
-

Jack probably wants the game time before the Euros. Nakamba was good tonight. I am a big fan of Song but I thought we kept him quiet really well tonight.

They made a comment when Ollie scored how he scored again against one of the big teams. Do fuck off
-
Really terrible first 20 minutes but then great for for the rest of the game. McGinn was MOTM by a distance I reckon. Great to see the bairns get a few minutes and a shame that last effort didn’t creep in, what a story that would have been.
-
A team that big that Burnley, Ipswich, Derby and Blackburn have won the League more recently than they have.

Chris Coleman was awful....he said that Watkins had had to earn his love in the team above Wesley....who was out injured for months when we signed Watkins ....awful...

Thought Nakamba was MoM, the fact that he don't play on a regular basis I think you have to accept a few mistakes whilst he finds his feet. Over the the course of the match his work rate and the way he broke up the Spurs play was great. Mings, McGinn and Targett were very good and the rest weren't far behind. Still trying to work out how the penalty wasn't given. If the ref gets it wrong VAR should correct the mistake. The contact is there for all to see. Maybe the question should be is how is Mr Friend allowed anywhere near a football match !
-
oh also fuck off the sky commentator , talking about watkins replacing Kane at spurs , as if
He said nothing of the sort. He was referencing the super 6 interview (https://youtu.be/Tluqi68QRQY?t=717) Watkins had the other day where he said himself that he could have went to either spuds, Leeds or us.

SJM MOTM for me. You might think this was down to Jack affording him so much more space, but even when it looked pretty congested, he came away with the ball.
His double table top in the second half was ridiculous. He was bloody brilliant tonight. The amount of times him and Marv won their midfield battles tonight had a huge impact on the result which was good to see especially after the way we allowed Palace to dominate the middle of the park on Sunday. Only our wastefullness in front of goal saved Tottenham from an embarrassing spanking.
-
Outstanding tonight and McGinn MOTM in my opinion. If Chuks effort had gone in I’d still be running around our village screaming. Both he and Jayden looked totally at ease out there and that’s excellent management, the right way to ease a young player in. Also the ridiculous commentary building Bale up to be some sort of superman when he was actually totally rubbish.
-

Coleman is totally inept at being a co-commentator. Says something, then repeats the same point three or four times.

I hope all is well with your mother Ian, mind yourself.
-
Is there anything better than seeing academy players come on and instantly look the part? It seemed like they killed the game at the end, getting us up the pitch again.
It's been a disappointing end to the season but I can't remember the last time I was so optimistic about our future.

From Ashley Preece
Dean Smith says the Villa squad and backroom staff gave debutants Jaden Philogene-Bidace and Carney Chukwuemeka a huge round of applause when they came back into the dressing room afterwards. Love that. 👏 #AVFC

Hope your mother is okay, Ian.
-
Gave this one the swerve as we look like we've been on the beach already for a few weeks.
Looking forward to it on the catch up.
15 wins compared to the nine last season is massive progress, even in this oddest of seasons.

I hope you can watch the whole game and not just highlights because we were outstanding tonight.
-
We should have won by more but some excellent performances tonight.
The ref was a joke and the penalty decision was just bent.
-
Got an offered a tremendous job 2 hours before kick off, and then sat down and enjoyed that. I fucking love the Villa.

Martinez 8
Some good saves from Bergwijn in particular.
Emi distribution by kicking leaves a lot to be desired at times but solid today. I'm sure he would have extra enjoyment of the 3pts. Brilliant
Konsa 7.5
Better game. Capable at right back and mainly assured . Played his part.
Targett 7.5
Mr consistent as ever. But felt was one of his more quieter matches in some respects.
Hause 8
Gave the ball away with right foot aimless pass as Traroe provided no option for and Spurs went on to score but was solid in containing Spurs attack.
Mings 9
Unbelievable outside of a slip. Absolute heroe performance in way he showed class. Very impressed.
Nakamba 7.5 Stepped it up after being at fault for the goal with poor control. Slight mark down for the goal.
Brilliant though how he broke up play made amends by creating the equaliser and won tackles. Great solid effort. Impressive
McGinn 8.5
Ran the show. Could have scored and helped create chances which Traore fluffed. One time he pioretted and beat two or or three in midfield. 9 out of 10 if it wasn't for the yellow card. Just loses out to Mings for player of match .
Drives the team. Relished the battle and was revelling. Energy passion and drive.. super.
El Ghazi 7.5
Worked it well but was let down sometimes by passes not coming quick enough to him. Tracked back brilliantly at times though faded a bit but was a solid team player and dangerous in attacks
Traore 7
(Would be a 7.5 to 8.5 of he passed more or scored )
Frustrating! Ace closing down for the 2nd goal but oh so wasteful and never looked enough for team mates when in possession. Felt he should have been subbed earlier and ws final straw when he fluffed a chance mis hitting it shot straight to Watkins.
Grealish 7.5
(Would be an 8 to 9 if scored or assisted)
Played in the 10 and worked well moving round spurs midfield couldn't cope.
Needed to release the ball quicker to El Ghazi in particular at times as then offside but thought after slow start, like the team , really came and stepped it up.
Exceptional and made the side even more dangerous but was right to be subbed as was slowing down sweeping counter attacks.
Still has major issues with his shooting for a man of his talents unable to get the power away with his shots.
Ace contribution today and greatly helped the teams attacking play. Class player and brought the team forward . Audacious player. And he's ours. Welcome back Jacky
Watkins 9
Outstanding. Nearly close to player of match but Mings lead the team from the back. I though Watkins took his goal well and should have had a penalty. Would be player of match if he scored again but so so good. Man's energy is wonderful
Brilliant striker .Deserves to be in England national team men's squad for Euros.
Douglas Luiz 7
Great energy. Played well and helped create
Great cameos by
JPB-
Chukwenka-
Dean Smith 9/10 for this one!
-
oh also fuck off the sky commentator , talking about watkins replacing Kane at spurs , as if
I despise SKY.

Congrats! A wonderful Wednesday to you Sir!
Beautiful!
-
oh also fuck off the sky commentator , talking about watkins replacing Kane at spurs , as if
Ridiculous suggestion. I don't see why they would want to get 120m for Kane and then go and spend 175m on Watkins. It makes no sense.
also there was no question whether it was actually a progressive move for the player , unbelievable
They made a comment when Ollie scored how he scored again against one of the big teams. Do fuck off
How the hell did spurs manage to convince the world they are a big club? One of the mysteries of our time.
-
El Ghazi and Target 7.5
Target was superb, El Ghazi gave the ball away, made poor decisions and missed some good chances.
-
A wonderful result and a season i will look back on fondly for a long time. Its just a shame it could have been even better.
11th place so league position much improved.
Six more league wins.
Seventeen points better off
Wins over teams you can't stand.
Great stuff.
-
Play him. Sod the Euros.
sod Southgate too.
But .......it would be a pisser if he took a setback from Sunday and we and the world didn’t see him in his best pomt taking the piss in the summer....?
Fuck England, Villa are the priority.
Exactly.
After 3 months out I think Jack needs to play on Sunday and should be up for it to impress ahead of the Euros.

The stadium is world class and you have to be a massive club to run up 600 million pounds of debt. Errrm that's it.

Another great analysis Mr Footy-Vill.
And no prediction of a McGinn screamer this week. :)

Agreed but does this mean Smith is leaving after all? ;)
Congrats Lee and very nice timing as we return to normality.
-

He said nothing of the sort. He was referencing the super 6 interview (https://youtu.be/Tluqi68QRQY?t=717) Watkins had the other day where he said himself that he could have went to either spuds, Leeds or us.
He did refer to that interview but at one stage definitely talked about how he might be someone they’d consider to replace Kane.

If Carlsberg did match days.

And how good was McGinn , Watkins and Mings I loved seeing the quality out do spurs and 4 or 5 wouldn't have flattered us!
Up the Villa!
El Ghazi and Target 7.5
Target was superb, El Ghazi gave the ball away, made poor decisions and missed some good chances.
Just my ratings and observations.
Target one of most improved players in the league and has had brilliant consistent season.
Ever since Everton last season he stepped up for me. Never forget his interview and how genuine disappointed he was walcott header.
Today Who did you find your player of the match ?
And what did you make of Jack ?
We were Brilliant today
-
Thanks to you all for the kind words, but Ian, I hope you Mom's ok, I'd only read about your day after posting myself and it felt a bit crass after reading that.
-
So many top performances. How good were Chucky and Jaden when they came on.
Brilliant.
Very admirable and brave from Smith to stick on two kids when when were defending a narrow lead away from home.
Bringing on the kids to give them experience was probably more important to Smith than the victory given that the game meant little in terms of league position.
-

Jack makes such a difference. With him we look composed on the ball, in control and his presence draws opponents like a magnet leaving space in other areas. Without him, we look like a firework display gone wrong. He played with a smile tonight and gives the rest of our team more confidence. Thought he did fantastic tonight after a lenghty break.
Apart from his brain fart at the beginning, Marvellous was my MOTM. Energetic, disciplined, positional sense and attitude was great. Also gives McGinn and Luiz licence to move forward where they are more effective. Deserves another run against Chelsea.
-
Thanks to you all for the kind words, but Ian, I hope you Mom's ok, I'd only read about your day after posting myself and it felt a bit crass after reading that.
Not at all Lee, always good to hear good news, a good tonic all round.
Unfortunately she’s got Alzheimer’s, been slowly deteriorating since 2016 and it’s really taken hold now. She had a fall while on a walk and it’s only a minor injury, it’s just a reality check in her care needs and another sign that the illness is worse.
At least I can watch MOD tonight and enjoy the Villa, just as you said earlier, I love the Villa.
-
LeeB. Congratulations
Now to the matter of that first half penalty we didn't get. What the f*ck?
-
Ian, sending caring thoughts at this time . I glad you can enjoy the highlights coming up.
I couldn't find a running order yet but hope to be on sooner but starts at
1045pm
Best wishes.
-
The first time back in the stadium and Spurs fans boo at losing to lowly Aston Villa.
Okay, it must have hurt with 10 minutes to go in the match, Villa brought on 2 youth players for their debuts to close the game out.
But come on. First time back in the stadium and you boo.
Lowly pathetic Villa...7 points difference.
MOTM Martinez
MOTM could have been Traore. Running around like an absolute ****** rather than a tit in a trance. Dribbled here, dribbled there, flicked here, flicked there, had at least 3 times to twat the ball and he didn’t. I like him.
-
oh also fuck off the sky commentator , talking about watkins replacing Kane at spurs , as if
Chris Coleman was awful....he said that Watkins had had to earn his love in the team above Wesley....who was out injured for months when we signed Watkins ....awful...
Coleman made a cock up with his facts there alright, but I actually thought he was good after that. About as and unbiased co commentator I’ve heard on sky all season.
-
Now to the matter of that first half penalty we didn't get. What the f*ck?
I haven't seen it but given that even on SHA they agreed it was a "stonewall penalty" I'm guessing we had a strong claim.
-
Good to see us cementing mid table in our first season of European Super League.
-
Any link to Dean and co interview after the game?

So many star performances this evening. McGinn was unbelievable. Mings owned Kane on his swansong. Watkins humiliated Dier. He wasn't even at his best but thought Grealish was superb. Made chumps out of the two Spurs had in midfield. His first touch and weight of pass is the best of the division. The defence and Martinez know it too, they are a lot more confident playing out from the back when Grealish is available for the pass. The front three pissed me off no end tonight by not giving Spurs the three or four goal beating they deserved. Getting booed off by their returning fans at half and full time. Epic. I liked Smiths changes before the game and subs.
Martinez 7, Konsa 7, Hause 7, Mings 9, Targett 8, McGinn 10, Nakamba 7, Grealish 8 (Luiz 7), Traore 7, Watkins 9, AEG 7......Deano 9
-
The biggest compliment I can pay that defence tonight was I don’t remember Kane or Son having much of a sniff at all. Tremendous.
-
Sorry I have to say again the decision by VAR to not award a penalty for the foul on Oli in the first half is possibly the worst decision I have ever seen by VAR. How Kane could be awarded a pen at Villa Park and that not be given is scandalous
If Kevin Friend isn’t allowed to referee our games in person, why is he allowed to be a VAR referee for them? Surely that’s worse.
-

I presume it's because he's not actually at the ground but tucked away in Stockley Park so no one would notice. But he's so monumentally shit at his job you cant help but notice him.
If they ever were going to let him referee us again then they should've done it during lockdown so the players and us fans could get used to this useless idiots face being around us again. Now crowds are coming back that's not going to happen thank McGrath.
-
Terrific performance the bits I've seen. After a 3am start against Everton last week and then Palace the other night I decided to give this one a miss - yeah flippin typical.
Really pleased the kids got a run out - looks like we might have some really special talent coming trough.
-
Did Dean reference the non penalty in his post match interviews? Just because we won doesn’t mean he should ignore it.
-
Did you know they put the fans upstairs so as not to piss off the sponsors ? What a two-bob bunch of wankers.
And the pints are £12 upstairs compared to £10 downstairs.
Twelve fucking pound!
Contrast that with Burnley who apparently let their allotted 3500 fans in for free last night. The fans are fighting back I tell yer!
-
A team that big that Burnley, Ipswich, Derby and Blackburn have won the League more recently than they have.
Eh? Burnley and Ipswich
e
Burnley won it the year before spurs but i get your point , Forest have also won it as well... but spurs are a london based club which the media love so that gives automatic big club status
-
Did anybody else burst out laughing when the self entitled, Super League, not won the title since colour television was invented, Spurs fans booed them off at half time?
Absolutely loved it. As much as their booing in the second half and at full time. It's great to have fans back.
-
I watched the game again on MOTD this morning, and it makes it look like a close game. Not a chance was it close.
Whatever happened to Jonathan Pearce, I used to think he was an exciting commentator, now he’s just dull beyond belief.
-
I hate Spurs, plenty of fans round here, ideas above their station.
I hate them most because, deep down, I feel they have our place at the top table.
It’s also good to be dignified in victory so I’d just say - fuck you mason for getting Benteke sent of you snide twat.
-

My dad said exactly the same thing, and couldn't believe what he was watching on Match of the Day. I suppose it gives arseholes like Laughter Richards, Jenas and whatever other braindead robot on there something to wank over, Spurs-wise.
Fuck em, mate.
-
Fantastic result and performance, McGinn was Immense, great to see the 2 young lads get a few minutes as well, hope to see more of our youngsters get games next season.
I am not a fan of Chris Coleman, but I thought his commentary last night was excellent, hopefully next season he will get more games.
-
And no discussion on MOTD on the non penalty - presumably on the basis we won so why bother or probably "its only Aston Villa, why bother?"
Referee Pawson can clearly be seen telling Oli, though that the ball was going out. Good to know that just a shame that didn't appear to matter when the ball was going out at VP and Kane moved away from the ball to initiate contact with Cash. Referees really need to look at some of their decisions this year and make sure there is more consistency next year because at the moment it appears there are double standards being applied to Super League teams

Controlling the narrative.
I was waiting for our game to be reduced to a small screen whilst we watched the Liverpool bus on the way to Burnley.

Makes me chuckle especially looking at how Villa have smacked around some of these ESL teams this season. I think it must get up the noses of certain people. Good.

Absolutely loved it. As much as their booing in the second half and at full time. It's great to have fans back.
Yes, the thought that they’d waited months to get back to watch their team then booed them after 45 minutes just about summed up the Spurs sense of entitlement. The world class own goal made me laugh even more.
It was back to us looking like the early season version of ourselves. Showing no respect for reputation and causing them to lose confidence and make the sort of errors we were making a month ago.
-

I agree with this. Compared to most co commentators he was pretty complimentary about Villa. Probably because he wasn't fighting any loyalties for either club and just called it as he saw it. I actually found it quite refreshing.
-
Think McGinn and his high press made a big difference and Jack too. That position he'd take just wide of their midfield 2 and he'd drift in and beyond. They just could not pick him up.
There's the makings of a good side here. We need to improve the squad by improving the first XI. If we continue to improve at the rate we have done this year on last, we're in Europe come the end of next season.
We look our best when we are busy. We're quite tiring to watch as we press and run nonstop.
-
Got an offered a tremendous job 2 hours before kick off, and then sat down and enjoyed that. I fucking love the Villa.

The highlights editor must be a Spurs fan. They made it look like an even contest which we won by a fluke goal. I watched it live with my brother in law who "supports" Liverpool after the game he said he couldn't believe how much we bossed Spurs at their own ground and that we even felt comfortable enough to bring on a couple of the youth team. That's exactly how I saw it.
-
Yes congrats LeeB. I also learned yesterday I’m getting a permanent contract after being on a 2 yr temp one.
Regards the match, monumental fk up from me- got my days mixed up and missed it. I was chatting to a woman at work about it on the Wednesday thinking it was actually Tuesday and when said it’s tomorrow morning - I said no it’s the day after. I blame her! Gutted I missed it. Was hoping we might sneak it but sounds like we battered Spurs. Gutted to miss the young lads’ debuts too. Ah well, get something against Chelsea and it will have been a solid season. 11th place finish beating my 13th place prediction.
-
really enjoyed that last night, sat in the local village pub with a pint...
sometimes we look a really good side

Did you know they put the fans upstairs so as not to piss off the sponsors ? What a two-bob bunch of wankers.
in a 60k stadium, I thought that having the fans in the upper deck made perfect sense.
Kept them away from the players, prevented them touching the ball etc. Far safer
Possible (even probable) that Spurs did the right thing for the wrong reason.

Yes, I thought exactly the same.
We had 20 shots, they had 10, but MOTD must have shown every one of theirs.

The BBC are worse than Sky for bigging up those clubs and pandering to it.
I've complained to the BBC this week about the Richards article and their bias towards those clubs.
You could hear it in Pearce's voice, desperate for Tottenham to do well.

Yeah it's like they've bought into Tottenham being one of their favoured "big six" so no matter what they will go with that narrative. Why I don't know. What have Tottenham actually achieved to be lauded in that way? They have a spanking new stadium which has put them in £600m debt so what? When Everton build their brand new stadium will they be given "big club" privileges? No because they're not considered to be glamorous -whatever that means- just like us.
-
Just watched motd. Poor coverage and after match analysis as per usual regarding Villa. The bias towards the sly 6 by the bbc/sky/bt is nothing new, it just appears to be getting worse.
From the coverage you wouldn't know Villa had twice as many chances as spurs. No mention of the stonewall penalty. Analysis was about Villa players from an England perspective (like I give a sh-t) and not Villa's. It's little wonder I very rarely watch motd or indeed live matches on the tv against any of the media darlings.
Spuds fans booing was the best in-game/post game analysis and is probably the loudest they will ever get in their new stadium (it certainly won't be songs in support of their team).
-
Recovered well after a dodgy start and after that we were miles the better side. I don't think anyone had a bad game but McGinn was just outstanding. Fair play to them for bouncing back after Sunday.

They did show the Ollie penalty incident.
Thought the coverage was fine. The few chances Spurs had warranted decent saves from Emi and they showed Carney's effort at the end. The post match chat always going to be about Kane and Spurs given he's leaving but then they praised Villa's back four and Mings in particular. Danny Murphy (who never praises us) even said he wouldn't like to be Chelsea going to Villa on Sunday as we have some very good players.

I can't remember that. Was it before Sky invented football in 1992?
-
Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham, Arsenal and Man Utd, with the latter being there on size only as they were comically inept for most of the decade
-
I’d gone down to Southampton to see my dad and watched the game at a local social club with a Solent Lions meet up. It was great to be watching the game with fellow fans again even on that small scale and I hope this who are going on Sunday have as good a time.

Great win and performance last night .I am still seething over that Villa hater Kevin Friend and how he continues to give Villa absolutely nothing and nothing is ever done about it .Apart from the Palace disgrace ,i also recall how he failed to see Fredericks stamp on Jack in the play off final even though it was in front of him No doubt there have been other decisions he has made against us

Some terrible decisions against us vs Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 2013. Didn't give us a penalty for handball and didn't send off Ivanovic - who got the winner if I recall rightly.
-
Great win. I really enjoyed it.
Good to see McGinn shut me up, he had a great game.
So good to have Martinez in the form he is in, as last line of defence. Fills you with confidence.
Really pleased for the youngsters too. They were last back into the dressing room and given a standing ovation from the rest of the squad and staff.
Roll on Sunday.
-
I've just watched the penalty they got in the first game and there is little difference other than Kane overtly had to change direction away from the ball to initiate contact whilst Oli never deviates away from the line of the ball. One of these decisions was wrong and we need to know which for the future, but either way we are the losers on both occasions.
-
Talking about lifting your spirits, was feeling really down after Sunday's performance, just didn't see that performance coming, absolutely superb Villa. Could easily have been more, clear penalty disallowed, thanks Kev, El Ghazi missing a sitter, Chuk hitting the post, that's just 3 occasions, there were many more. Kane and Son, 2 of the best strikers in the league hardly got a look in.
A great team performance, special credit to Martinez. Mings and Nakamba, but MOTM for me was SJM, absolutely superb display, controlled the midfield, Spurs simply couldn't stop him, it was McGinn at his best. Obviously Jack's absence is the main factor our form has dipped in the last few months, but not seeing more performances like this from SJM is certainly another factor.
Another performance like this on Sunday and we can beat Chelsea.
-
Delighted with the performance and result. If I have one thing to nitpick about it is the amount of times Ollie overplays and takes a touch too many when he has got himself into the box. Traore is the same.
-
Watched in the pub with my missus, lad, our friend who is a Spurs fan and his lad who is Liverpool and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We really should have had 5, even the Spurs fan was complimentary about us!
-

I agree Damo, sometimes Ollie seems to want to make absolute sure instead of just being a bit more instinctive. As for Traore, I've never seen a more infuriating player. Oustanding, sublime skill one second, feet like two sheriff's badges the next.
-

Agree with this
I never feel totally confident with the front 3 when they have too much time. Oli took his goal well but maybe disappointed he hasn’t scored more this season. Great player though and a good first season for him
Traore is so frustrating. Lots of dribbles, goes past players but never shoots when the opportunity arises. He never seems fully in control of the ball
-
I still don’t know how we didn’t get a penalty last night especially when you compare the foul on Ollie by the goalkeeper, compared to the one Kane got at VP against Cash. This ‘big 6’ bias looks more and more corrupt with every incident.
-
Media and Spurs fans make me laugh. Do they really think Grealish and Watkins are going rock up there next season, when they're about to lose all their best players and look like they'll be playing in the Uefa poor man's Intertoto?
-

Traore is miles infront on that. I love watching his mazy dribbles and when he's on form but we really need to be working on him in pre season to get it out of his head he needs to take about 15 touches in the box before shooting, needs to have more confidence to take quicker shots even if he feels off balance as opponents simply block too many of his shots.
Ollie is fantastic in so many ways, just feels a bit when he's through on goal and has a bit of time he overthinks the finish too much. He dosen't have that confidence say Vardy does that he'll always score when he's one on one but hopefully he'll improve on that next season seeing as 1 goal every 2 and a half games in premier league pretty much is a very very good effort for debut prem season.

I haven't read the whole thread, but has there been any comments from the 'officials' as to why it wasn't a penalty?
-
Did Dean reference the non penalty in his post match interviews? Just because we won doesn’t mean he should ignore it.
Dean Smith: "We had some big chances. To come to White Hart Lane and to have 20 attempts at their goal shows the attacking intent. Our reaction from their goal was excellent. There was some really good pressing. We worked some good opportunities. It was also a stonewall penalty."
-

Kevin Friend was on VAR, enough said.

Did it actually get referred to VAR - they never showed the VAR check complete graphic thing I don't recall...although I was drinking!!
-

On the MOTD coverage you can clearly see Craig Pawsob tells Oli " the ball was going out" . Not that that mattered for Kane but.......
-
VAR has just become a tool to ensure they can rule out any infringements that might benefit the 'lesser' teams that they may have missed in the past.
-

Where in the rule book does it say it isn't a foul if the ball is on its way out? They make it up as they go along. More should be made of this particular incident using the Kane pen V us as proof that the direction of the ball has no baring on such a decision.
-
It was a very good team performance and really showed how valuable Jack is to us, it's great to have him back performing like he can. There are a number of nominees for MOM which shows we were good or very good in all departments. The only one who had an iffy game for me was El Ghazi. Generally okay but caught in possession too often and some poor attempts on goal. I still think he's a valuable squad member but an area of the starting team that should be improved upon. Very pleased with the two young cameos. That Chuck' looks like he will be a player, there's something of the Viera about him which is just what we need in the middle.

It's very rare the VAR is going to intervene against the on pitch ref. Certainly the longer the season has gone on. Referees are a strange crew, that decision against us at Man City was justified on the basis of a ridiculous interpretation of an obscure rule. Some other garbage no doubt used last night.

For me Salah is the best at this. If he gets the ball in the penalty box it's often in the back of the net before you know it.
-
The more I think about this match the better the performance gets. After a really very bad first 15 minutes we absolutely, totally, no caveats battered them. We just gave them no time, no room, no breath, no nothing.
And by the way, a special word for Konsa. Could he be the answer to our defensive midfield conundrum? It's difficult as he's such a great central defender, but he's also great when he steps forward and when playing sharp passes out of defence under pressure. How in the name of Christ Dier is in the England squad and he's not is beyond anything I can understand.

Agreed. You would hope that if against Chelsea he puts in another good performance at right back that Southgate might just think "Waaaiit a minute".
-
After Sunday, I was doubly pissed-off both with the performance and the fact that I was waving goodbye to £30 @ 50/1 (do the maths - I can't bear to!) if Villa had finished 10th or better.
What a difference 3 days can make! Watching them comprehensively mash the Spuds has re-energised me. Apart from scoring more to reflect our comfortable superiority, this was the best since the (October) Liverpool match or the 'Stevie Gerrard' semi-final.
As for the bet (my once-a-year flutter apart from the lottery), you can't lose what you've never had. I'd rather the euphoria of seeing/experiencing the Villa giving of their best - shit or bust. Call me a Muppet, but this team, this club, can do that to you.
-

I've been stopping myself from making that post about Konsa for about 2 months, he reads the same brilliantly and that would translate perfectly into that shielding role. On top of that I think he's grown in confidence this season and stands up for himself and team much more than he did, I could see him being the shithouse defensive midfielder we're after but I don't know if I want to move him because I also think he's a top 4 standard centre back and I think the partnership between him and Mings has become one of the best in the league.
-
Konsa can do whatever he, and whatever the manager, wants him to do. I don't remember the last time I've seen a defender his age who's already just so secure. Remarkable.
Apropos of nothing, I just remembered how Micah Richards before the game was saying of Dele Alli 'you don't become a bad player overnight', and all I could think was 'well, you did'.
-
I don't think his distribution is good enough to put him there. His value to to the team would diminish as a result.
Leave him where he is, Rolls Royce of a Centre Half.
-
Just a few observations following the match last night. After recent performances, I honestly thought we would be over run in this game but, following our poor first 10 minutes, the team reverted back to the glorious early season attacking game. Such a pleasure to watch and proves yet again that we are so much better when we press a bit higher up the pitch and just go for it. It also takes some pressure off our defence. Also, I just love it when the team proves me wrong because it means they are playing the way most of us want them to.
As regards the penalty...there are no ifs and buts, it was nailed on. Even if the ball is going out of play it doesn’t mean you can foul your opponent without being punished for said offence.
Before last night, I didn’t give us a prayer against Chelsea, especially as they need the win to finish in the top 4. However, I really hope we step up to the plate again and, give the lucky people that were successful in the ballot, a fantastic last effort of the season.
After all said and done...we are Aston Villa FC which I hope the name of which will strike fear in the hearts of our opponents within a couple of years time if not before!!

In my post match chat with my brother I made the same point, Konsa could perform any of the variety of roles Dier gets picked for to much greater effect.
Mind you, so could I probably, at 44.

Exactly. If the ball was by the touchline and going out and a player clatters another player would the ref not give a foul and probably book the assailant? Of course he would. Pathetic refereeing compounded by that prick Kevin Friend who was the VAR official. They really are making up the rules as they go along.

Again, I have wondered if he could be an alternative to Luiz Nakamba, last night at right back he showed what a very good footballer he is.

I have said it before and i will say it again There seems to be a different set of rules for Villa and a set for the other teams .If Ollie was deemed to be diving then why did'nt the idiot Pawson give him a yellow card like in the United game
-
Of the top of my head, Ollies had 3 awful decisions go against him this season.
1) Westham away.
2) Man Utd home.
3) Spurs away.
But then again I expect nothing less, we are probably the only team that has ever conceeded a goal that was so wrong that it has instantly lead to a new 'interpretation' of the law.
-

He wasn't, he didn't give it because the ball was going out of play, the ref made that really clear. The problem with that is the contact came before the ball was out of play so it was an off the ball foul, which means a penalty, it's another case of a referee misinterpreting the rules in a way that has a negative impact on us. This one is particularly galling given the free kick Kane got in the reverse fixture which was similar circumstances with the only meaningful difference that Kane initiated the contact whereas Watkins was taken out without changing his run in any way.
-
I have said it before and i will say it again There seems to be a different set of rules for Villa and a set for the other teams .
I agree. The mistakes this clown=posse of a set of refs have made this season are beyond ridiculous. Instances where we have been victimised have changed the rules of the game. They are literally changing the rules to penalise us. F**k them and the horse they rode in on.
What NSWE bring to this club is valuable and welcome but one thing they need to sort out rapidly is how the f**k the owners of The Big 6 exert enough fear that they get away with so much bias in their favour then do the same for us.
-
I've said it before Dean needs to start going ballistic on camera and publicly shaming the refs. Fergie had the right idea and that shower are still enjoying the benefits of it. We just seem to be so accepting. Friend is an absolute disgrace but he'll continue to be the other teams 12th man until we call him out on it. NSWE will look after any fines.

Or the new Fernandes law that states that if you back into a defender and stamp on his shin you should be awarded a penalty

Yeah, I was so stunned to hear that price that I, too, looked it up. And you are right, clearly not true.
-
With regard to the penalty decision, I absolutely agree that Dean should bang on about it.
Yes, ultimately on Wednesday night it didn't matter. However, there are plenty of occasions when the likely goal from a spot kick means the difference between avoiding defeat or nicking a victory. If we continue on our upward trajectory, those outcomes then become the difference between winning trophies or European qualification, or just missing out. To get the decisions, he first though needs to come across as a bitter bastard on each and every occasion it doesn't go our way.
Fergie - being the classic case in point - built the most successful career in British club management partly on ensuring that his teams almost invariably got the benefit of the referee's doubt. That was a direct result of making the man in the middle shit-scared of the fate awaiting him if he made the "wrong" call, the evidence of which was Ferguson incessant siege mentality of the world being against him and his team. Being diplomatic didn't get him any 50:50 decisions; being outspoken ultimately got him the 40:60s and 30:70s.
-

Wasn't there a crap offside decision against albion away as well?
-
Ollie should be on at least 17 Prem goals now but for shit reffing / VAR by my reckoning. Add in all the times he’s hit the woodwork and he’d he top scorer by a mile in this league I reckon.
-
We were involved in the most controversial Premier League decision last season and we have been involved in probably the most controversial Premier League decision this season too.
-
Konsa can do whatever he, and whatever the manager, wants him to do. I don't remember the last time I've seen a defender his age who's already just so secure. Remarkable.
Gareth Barry? He made the move from superb central defender into accomplished midfielder, Konsa is evry bit as good if not better.
-
Konsa is and has been great, some way to go to be better than Barry though.
-
I don't see the cultured play of Barry in Konsa to be honest.
-
Recency bias is affecting the mind here. Gareth Barry was an extraordinary talent for many, many years. Konsa is very good too but before elevating him to such lofty heights let’s see him do it for a few years first. He has the talent and attitude to get there but let him get there. And like Milner, Barry was just a little ahead of his time. Not every player just looks so comfortable at a high level so quickly. Konsa could very well be another. A lovely player to watch.
-
Does anybody reckon Kane has managed to climb out of Mings pocket yet? And has Dele Alli managed to lift the curse of the Black Pearl that's currently stopping him being a footballer?
-
Konsa is a Rolls Royce of a defender.
-
Love listening to a game on the radio when Brian Little is on the co-commentary; he's good value for his comments until something exciting happens, then he switches to being a full-on Villa fan like the rest of us!
Sounded like a highly impressive performance apart from the opening; frustrating that we couldn't make the score more emphatic.
