Villa struggling at such an intimidating and hot bed of passion that is Selhurst Park tells you all you need to know about our standing in the "modern game"
Whilst it can't be argued that we have improved on last season's standing the most recent form has been dreadful.
The early season form was welcomed but unsustainable.
Having watched this club from circa 1961 to date I have witnessed good and bad times but mostly "meh" times.
Our poor record at this venue, our abysmal points haul from games against Manchester United and the abject record of FA Cup wins in 64 years regrettably makes me reflect upon our status as a " Big Club" A Great club maybe - due to our history as founders etc , however "Big Clubs" win titles/Cups , something we've not achieved for far too long
Accepting that Selhurst Park is an " ill fated/ cursed fixture/ground suggests that nothing is likely to change any time soon

Well summarised Dave, and I totally agree with the 11th place finish - I would have snatched your hand off at the start of the season, but it feels a bit “meh” now.
Still it will be an improvement over last season and a good base to push on to the top 8 next year.
