Another bizarre kick off time. I assume we will be unchanged from the side that dismantled Liverpool. I know West Ham won there recently but I expect a very hard game and will be delighted with a point.
I'll go for 2-2; Watkins and Barkley
-
2-1 us.
-
I ain’t paying for it.
-
As a pragmatist and believer in sequences a fourth win is unexpected and unlikely.
2-0. Watkins, Targett.
-
1-2 we must be brimming with confidence at the moment I think we can continue our current form.
-
I must pay more attention as I thought this was a 3pm kick off...
will be interesting to see our reaction after thrashing the Scousers and Leics after their thrashing by the kit steelers.
I would be happy with a point as I would of been the last time we played at 7.15pm on a Sunday, but would also take the same result....:)

1-3 McGinn, Cash, and Traore late on.
Vardy sent off after scoring.
Top of the league, talk of the town.

Narrow win for them in an entertaining game
-
3-0 to us. The Aston Villa juggernaut rolls ever onwards, smashing all in its way.
-
If Barkley and Watkins shape up and take all there chances this time and we stay tight at the back, why not at least another 7-2 to us? Lets re-write the record books ;D. Its great to have real optimism about Villa at the moment, hopefully it rolls on beyond Sunday.

Because the Aston Villa I know and love will undoubtedly follow up their best result for years with a lacklustre defeat.
Obviously I'm hopeful this is not the case this time.
-
Leicester will double up on Jack, double up on McGinn, double up on on Watkins, double up on Barkley.
Our other 7 players will be up against 3 Leicester players.
Villa win. :)
-
They only certainty is they'll kick lumps out of Jack. When they don't get their own way they get ugly.
1-1.
-
Will Doug and Emi be back in time to play ?
-
Will Doug and Emi be back in time to play ?
I hope so or you're in goal and I'm in midfield!
-
One thing that's slightly holding me back from betting on us to win the league is that we have benefitted from the element of surprise a little - against Sheff (bringing on a substitute as the corner we scored from was taken. Classic Distraction technique) and Liverpool (they wouldn't have had any analysis available to see what difference Barkley could make).
Leicester are a really good team, this will be an interesting test.
The obligatory Vardy goal for them, Ollie for us. 1-1.
-
Apologies, I've put Grealish, Watkins and Martinez in my Wildcard team. I know. I accept full responsibility.
-

You still have a few days to replace them with Maddison Vardy and Schmeichel. You know it makes sense!
-
I can’t see Leicester playing the same high line like Liverpool did so I don’t see lots of goals for us. 2-1 Watkins and Mings for us.
-
A very tight draw 0-0 or 1-1
-
Well, we beat Liverpool 7-2, and Liverpool beat Leicester 4-0 away last season ... so I reckon it should be about 12-0 to us.

Don't exaggerate, that only makes 11-2
-
I reckon we will keep our good run going and get a 2-1 win.
-
5.1 Easy win for us.
-
A wounded very good Leicester against a buzzing brimming with confidence villa, 0-0 written all over it!!
I take a draw, a win would be brilliant. When was the last time they lost 2 home league games in a row?
That’s a genuine question?
-
Anything less than a 4 goal victory will feel like a defeat and put the pressure on Smith.

The PL doesn't do 0-0 anymore

Last season 0-4 v Liverpool in Dec and 1-2 v Southampton in Jan. They had a win and a draw at home in the cups between those games.

If we score at a rate of 7 to every Liverpool 2, it'll be 14-0. I'm building myself up so much that I'm going to be disappointed with anything less than double figures, and I fully expect Söyüncü to be sent off within ten minutes of kick-off.

Anybody know when we last went 8 unbeaten in the PL?

Back to earth with a close run defeat
That's how I feel about it.
Would maybe settle for that if we put 10 past Leeds.
-
1-1 will do nicely and will be very respectable away at their place.
-
1-1 will do nicely and will be very respectable away at their place.
Agreed, I’ll take that. Otherwise another 7 will be acceptable.
-
Get at them and exploit their defensive frailties. It's not a game to park the bus, the league is crazy at the moment. We actually look comparitively well organised compared the rest of the division (right now), so keep on countering fast and direct. We'll get some joy. It should be a good game. We've got to be fancying a result.
-
1-3. FTCMF!

We'll be 2 down with less than 20 mins to go, we'll win 3-2 and set ourselves up to win the league.

Bottom. And Vardy will be on the hippy crack.
-
Craig Shakespeare could give us a bit of inside knowledge here. 2-1 Villa. Ollie x 2
-
Tough game 1-1
-
I reckon a draw. Leicester have been a bit hit and miss during games this season. We are in good shape but Leicester on their day can be very dangerous. Let's hope it isn't their day (night) on Sunday.
-
1-3. FTCMF!
I really hope FTCMF stands for what I think it does. If so it's a beautiful turn of phrase that I can fully get behind.

Agree with this, they have been a bit up and down in 2020. Ndidi is still out which will help our midfield as is Pereira who'd likely target us down the left. I've selected a Leicester win (worked against Liverpool) although we're due a draw. Our cause will be helped considerably if we don't give silly penalties away against Vardy which did for Citeh.
-
CM = crisp munching if that helps
ah, my version was somewhat ruder.
-
thought we would lose against Liverpool and was just hoping for a positive performance
but then we went and gave them a good seeing too
thought we would lose against Leicester and would have taken a draw and a solid performance
but now after the thrashing I think our confidence must be Sky high
so am expecting we give them a good hard spanking 1-3
we probably won’t lose another game this season to be honest (and win the FA Cup)
-
A win here and an Everton loss to pewl could see us in a very interesting position in the table. Won't elaborate any more than that for obvious reasons.

But I couldn't spell it out in front of my nan.

Two teams who look better on the break. I hope we score early so it’s an easy Sunday afternoon

If Liverpool beat Everton on Saturday, the winner of this one could go top of the league. Imagine saying that six months ago...
I'd have been happy with a point from this game a month ago, now I genuinely think we can win it. 1-2, Jack and Watkins.
-
While I went for a draw what will be most important is how we approach this game and how we play following on from the Liverpool game. It wasn't just the PL that took notice but the whole football world. While nobody expects us to "do a Liverpool", but a very solid display will be a bigger indicator as to what we are capable of this year across an entire season.
-
Soyuncu was out for Turkey's match on Wednesday.. do anyone know if he will be fit for this weekend?
-
I dislike that hairy, big lummox.
-
Really looking forward to this one
Jack and Tyrone will be fired Up to say Fvck you to Southgate and SJM will want to continue his Scotland form. A win and we can say to the rest of the country, AVFC are back.
The only downside is having to pay £15 to Sky😳
-
I reckon one of these days we are due to give a side a good thumping.
-
2 -2 Chris Nicholl to score all four.
-
I dislike that hairy, big lummox.

This.
1-1 draw for me

I'd take a clean sheet 0-0 draw to be honest right now, but hope we can pay them back with interest for last year.
Utv!
-
I’ve been fairly outraged about the sky thing, and still am. But my principled stance is faltering slightly, helped by a moment of clarity that as I have now tv but don’t subscribe to sky sports, I’ve been paying a tenner to watch villa games since lockdown anyway. Fall on my principles or listen to WM, hmmm
-
It's all very well winning on long grass but can we do it on the short stuff?
-
It's all very well winning on long grass but can we do it on the short stuff?
Thanks for that, my keyboard's covered in tea now >:( ;)
-
the £15 thing is to much
However having paid £10 to watch Lansbury & co perform their circus act in the cup game I dare say I’ll be signing up for this and all the others
it’s weak willed people like me the SKY rely on
-
A tenner to watch Lansbury...very grateful for Sky not to charge us £100 for a Grealish game.
-
As outstanding as McGinn was against Liverpool, is it realistic for him to play 90 mins on Sunday after three games during the week? Especially after his injury problems last season, the last thing he needs is some kind of fatigue related injury. The obvious replacement Hourihane had a similar schedule so it's hard to know what we should do.
I'm not sure what players Leicester have in the same boat, Vardy and Maddison will be back at full fitness you would think.
Should be a good game this one, 2-2.
-
I had a dream last night that we beat Leicester 1-0 to go top on goal difference and media were praising Leicester for keeping us quiet ;D
-
the £15 thing is to much
If you think of it as £3 per Villa goal it seems much cheaper. ;)

Ramsey's chance to play a box-to-box role?
Somewhat also depends on how Luiz's fitness is too.

I think Ramsey has potential but is miles off it physically to be honest
-
Leicester are walking wounded apparently.
Ndidi and Pereira out long-term, Soyuncu and Amartey definitely out, Maddison, Evans, Vardy and Praet all doubtful.
Their forum is predicting:
Schmeichel
Castagne Fofana Fuchs Justin
Mendy
Choudhury Tielemans
Under Iheanacho Barnes
Doesn't look all that scary.
-
Vardy's a doubt? He always seems to be a doubt when against us and always plays. Even so, which of those 2 or 3 will sit on Jack? They'll have to watch the pace of Watkins and the marauding runs of Barkley too. Then there's the Scottish terrier who is back in form. I can only see a Villa win.
-
Yes good news on the injury doubts, although as Brend says Vardy always seems to make it against us.
Rob Dorset on Twitter saying same thing:
#lcfc major injury problems to face #avfc. Vardy is a doubt after a scan on calf injury, both CBs Soyuncu (v likely out) and Evans (abdominal) returned from international duty with injuries. Amartey (hamstring), Praet (knee) serious doubts. Maddison (calf) is ok for SOME of game.
-
I hope Vardy’s missing
I think he’s a great player very dangerous
i still don’t think there’s many better forward players than him in the prem
-
Its ok. I have Vardy up front in my FPL team. He won't play.
-
Leicester are the anti-Villa of casualty lists. They always have a wardful of doubts and they're always fit come matchday.
-
mind you that fecker Iheanacho always seems to score vs us.....

He didn't start the cup semi final and so we could attack them much more without worrying about him on the counter. Huge if he's out.
Liking our chances in this one if these injuries are true (although looking at Brenton's comments he thinks Jonny Evans and possibly Vardy will still start for them). Don't think we'll lose this, will go 2-2.

Win this and we're more than 10% of the way to the title and a perfect season.

Got that "After the Lord Mayors show" feeling. 2-0

2 - 0 Villa Watkins and Jack
still on for Chumps league
-
Of course we played really well, but Liverpool was one of those once-in-a-generation freak results. I think Leicester will be a much better gauge of the progress we've made. I'm hoping for a draw but if we come away with a win, I think that's grounds for significantly raising the expectations for this season.

That's a good way of putting it. Last season in the two league games they were so superior to us it was embarrassing. Be very interesting to see how we match up tomorrow.
-
Who knows, maybe from “Doing a Fulham”, this season we'll “Do a Leicester”.
1-2.

2 games in hand on the Champions and a point behind...

Dilly ding, dilly dong !

I love Vardy. He's one of those wind-up merchants who never stops irritating the teams he plays against and constantly delivers. I wish we'd got him way back when.
-
Wasn't he doubtful for the second leg of the League Cup semi?
He came on but didn't look fit at all.

He’s quality. What they’ll do when he calls it a day will be interesting. If he’s out hopefully we can push up and play a high ljne
-
They are a counter attacking team and so are we. To paraphrase Jose from the Sperms series on Amazon, we need to do the best fouls at the point of transition.
"Be a ***t, but don't be a stupid ***t, be a clever ***t"".
We will win, but two stupid ***ts will get sent off.
-
I think this will be really tough.
-
All you can ever have is hope and excitement.
Our villa are giving it spades and win lose or draw you know we will be having a go.
Cannot wait for it after all that international shite
-
For the first time for a long while, I'm actually looking forward to watching us play. Recently the results have been so important it's been difficult viewing, but feels like the pressure is off a little on the back of our bright start to the season. We should fear no one, let's impose our game. 2-1 Villa.
-
The good news is Jack's fresh, thanks Southgate for that, the bad news SJM is far from fresh, having played 3 games in 6 days one 120 mins. Has the potential to be a cracker this one, haven't won 4 games on the trot for 90 years at the start of a season, so history is a tad against us, going 2-2.
-
This season being what it is all results are possible, from us thrashing them to them thrashing us and everything in between. No idea what will happen, but it feels great to go into a game in the Premier League without anxiety, with hope and with a bit of acceptance, that even should things go pear-shaped today, we still look firmly on the right track in general.
-
It's hard to call this one, it could be anything. I reckon we'll keep our unbeaten record going though so I'll go for 2-2. Barkley and Konsa with ours.
-
Normally would dread a game like this but confident, ‘Not saying we will win but we will Certainly have a go

I don't have sky so I normally buy a now tv day pass when our matches are on sky and watch it though the now tv app on our apple box.
Obviously I can't do that for this one so I've bought the PPV. From what I've seen, if you're using a laptop as I will be you need to watch it on the sky box office player. This doesn't support casting to the TV so does anyone know whether I'll able to watch it on the TV by connecting it to the laptop with a HDMI cable?
-
PPV games are an outrageous piss take. I doubt our local WMC will be ponying up for games like this otherwise I could justify chucking them £15 worth of beer money.

So who’s paying the £14.95 to watch the Villa tonight? I was going to make a stand and not pay but the closer i get to kick off the more i want to watch it. I’ll probably end up paying it.

Hes Goal or pub, both free, well kind of.

I would normally say I would take a draw in a game like this but given how we have started the league season f*ck it let's go for the win.

So who’s paying the £14.95 to watch the Villa tonight? I was going to make a stand and not pay but the closer i get to kick off the more i want to watch it. I’ll probably end up paying it.
my £14.95 is already on its way to the SKY coffers
sorry I let you all down
Pay them in coppers !!

I've paid already I'm sorry to say. Looking forward to it, 2-0 Villa
-
Seriously if there's anyone who has SKY and for whatever reason just can't afford the £15 to watch the Villa but really would like to
DM me your bank details and I will pay for it
we're a Villa family don't want anyone missing out due to hard times at the moment
-
That’s a fantastic gesture, John. Hats off to you.
-
I’m hoping for a JG hat trick, with him whipping off his shirt to reveal a navy waistcoat for the cameras to feast on.
-
Fancy a 2-2 aswell.
West Ham did a proper number on them last time out so hopefully we've studied that. Defended deep but had Bowen, Antonio and Fornals breaking past their high line regularly. We've certainly got that ability with the front players we now have.
How high we park our backline will be depending on whether Vardy makes it I suspect, was way too easy for him at Villa Park.

I know casting is blocked but HDMI to the telly is working.

I quit due to the quality of class A narcotics.
