Title: Ben Chrisene
Post by: robbo1874 on October 07, 2020, 08:12:04 AM
Don't know anything about this lad, but been named in the Guardian's 20 to watch out for 2020/21

https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2020/oct/07/next-generation-2020-20-of-the-best-talents-at-premier-league-clubs

I think he was our first signing of the transfer window.

Going to be many of these types of threads I suspect over the time with these who never make it but were rated. Way it goes.
Scored the first in the FA Youth Cup final win.

There are some still remaining from that side 3 years ago:
And the others where are they now ?

Marschall, Kesler, Bogarde, Swinkels, S.Revan, Lindley, Raikhy, Chukwuemeka, Chrisene, Barry, Young

6 of those are still with us (but Marschall is on loan). Lindley and Raikhy were probably the weakest and both left a while back, Chuk obviously we got top money for and Seb Revan and Chrisene have left this summer.

Raikhy is a premier league player now, got promoted at Leicester last season. (Although I suspect he'll end up being an ffp flip for them)

Has he even played for them?

Thanks on info. Aaron Ramsey and Sylla came on and rest of subs were : GK Zych, Appiah, Sewell, O'Reilly, Reddin

For Liverpool Bradley and Quansah are the stand out two that have played first team football and actually now part of their first team squad.

Seb Revan who scored the own goal in the youth final has joined Wrexham permanently and O'Reilly has joined Shrewsbury on loan.

I suspect this another Philogene / Archer type deal, as I’m sure he’s highly rated

If someone else had posted this, you would be saying that this is the Ben Chrisene thread and that there are separate threads for Seb Revan and loan deals. Rather than commenting on the irony, my point here is that it's natural for discussions to deviate from the title theme, but will naturally come back around again. Once you come to terms with this, you'll take a lot less flack.

Apparently we're getting £1.5m for Chrisene (see what happened there!).

I actually considered making or searching specific player threads for these players or even a where are they now from the youth cup but I don't think it deemed necessary at this time.
Anyway probably need to move this thread anyway as Chrisene has left and there are other topics which are far hotter and relevant to first team discussions.

Has potentially really interesting career ahead . Good luck to him.

BBC reckon he has gone for £1.5M.

Seems a bit cheap that, but then again, I suppose it all depends on what clauses we have placed within the contract.

I reckon there’s a sell-on clause. But he only had a year left on his deal apparently.

He tries not to shatter, Kaleidoscope style
Personality changes behind his red smile
Every new problem brings a stranger inside
Helplessly forcing one more new disguise

Ah, fair enough.

I wasn't aware of the contract length.

Tbf, he didn't particularly stand out at Blackburn last year & after getting first team football at Exeter at the age of 15, you would think he would have been further on in his career at this point.

Although an injury might have been an issue at one point, but I might be wrong about that...

It was, torn knee ligaments meant he missed half a season (when he was on loan in Scotland) and when he came back he didn't look the same player.

Ah, yes, now that you mention the specifics, I do recall that now.

Cheers...

Looked to me that he had a decent second half of last season for Blackburn.

Hope it goes well for him at Naaarch.
