I'm amazed that the 'leaked' team sheet turned out to be fake.

-
9 subs and only one of them is a defender
-
Konsa right-back?
-
No Guilbert?
-
Guess Guilbert picked up a knock? Surprised to see Elmo on the bench if so. Don't mind Davis up front. Might make sense to bring the pace of Samatta off the bench against tired legs, especially with five substitutions allowed.
-
Wow Davis up front. C'mon big man!
-
9 subs and only one of them is a defender
Taylor and Elmo.
Didn't you go for your walk?
-
I have no idea how those 11 players fit into any form of formation.
-
I'm amazed that the 'leaked' team sheet turned out to be fake.
I told you it was. 😀
-
I'm amazed that the 'leaked' team sheet turned out to be fake.
....and no sign of the one Sheff player who you told me was playing ;)
-
Wow, I defy many to have got that starting 11 right !?
-
9 subs and only one of them is a defender
Two, Elmo and Taylor. And we have three players who can play centre half in the team so every defensive position is covered if one goes off injured.
-
Interesting...
-

I said it was on that team sheet, I didn't say he was playing. So ner ner.
-
I should have held me powder - I can't see goals
-
Blimey...that’s a hell of a shake up.
-
9 subs and only one of them is a defender
Taylor and Elmo.
Didn't you go for your walk?
I was counting Elmo more as midfielder.
No, I haven't gone out for my walk yet. It's as though someone kept me on the phone and delayed me finishing work ;) :)
-
Glad Fleck is out, must be the first time in history that a "doubtful" player hasn't started against us.
-
I have no idea how those 11 players fit into any form of formation.
Business as usual it seems.
-
Quite the team that , no real holding player there at all.Konsa look like he at RB
No Fleck is a major boost for us as he is one of their best players
-
That defence looks very worrying to me.
-
So where is Engels?
-
I don’t think I would have got that line up if I’d had 100 attempts.
-
I think Davis might be one of the breakout stars of this resumption. Injuries permitting obviously. Reckon Grealish will enjoy playing the ball into someone’s feet who will make it stick around the area too.
-
I thought it was a back 3 but can’t see a right back, so maybe not. I would have matched their 3-5-2.
-
I like Nakamaba - I think we are pretty lightweight without him.
-
Nah, hate 3/5 at the back.
-
I have no idea how those 11 players fit into any form of formation.
Business as usual it seems.
We don't seem to have named a right-back.. Unless Konsa can play there? I can't remember him playing there before. There again I'd forgotten Borja Baston even existed, so it's very possible.
-
Wow, I defy many to have got that starting 11 right !?
Lottery winning odds.
-
No Samatta? Weird. Win Villa.
-
Any fans turned up outside?
-
Hause and Mings ... 2 lefties in the middle; no holding MF unless Conor is supposed to do that job; where's the cover for their attacking WB?
I may be watching this from behind the sofa.
-
Didn’t expect that line up, but I think the key to getting out of this is making proper use of the squad and keeping all of the players fit. Injuries have really done for us at times. It’s going to be difficult, and I find the whole restart a bit weird but let’s see what happens.
-
Mad.
-
El Ghazi at wing back maybe?
-
No Samatta? Weird.
Yet he manages to find a place for El Ghazi who if you include it's 4-5-1 by the looks of it.
If I wasn't nervous enough with that line up, Hesgoals is now bloody blocked here.
-
Oh dear. Really wish the season had ended early seeing that line up!
-
I’m not sure what the formation is meant to be and why Samatta, our very best forward isn’t starting. I will pull out my prayer mat as usual.
-
What is the point of Borja?
-
Listening on WM and I despair at some people. Some twat going on about how he's set up a gazebo near VP. Another one saying he's got 14 in the house to watch the game.
-
Interesting how Kienan has nudged in ahead of Samatta.
Before the break, Samatta was fit and firing and now he’s on the bench.
-
El Ghazi at wing back maybe?
That’s a good shout. We know their CBs like to run down the wings so Targett and AEG May have been given the job to stop it, so three at the back it could be
-
Davis in as he is great at holding up the ball to allow others into the game.Samatta good option off bench for a late game assult with cross's into the box. I highly doubt we are getting a full game out of Davis
-
Every game at VP in 2020 has had a late goal.
-
5 subs, don't forget.
-
El Ghazi at wing back maybe?
That’s a good shout. We know their CBs like to run down the wings so Targett and AEG May have been given the job to stop it, so three at the back it could be
The obvious WB on the right is Elmo, if Guilbert is not in the mix.
-
Hope this is the time Keinan comes of age and notches a couple
-
Think it is 3 at the back, odd team & formation but come on Villa
-
From hopeful to concerned with the mere sight of a team sheet.
That’s quite a shake up.
-

Elmo's not pinning anybody back in their own half.

It is but AEG is likely to play further up the pitch to stop them at source, if so an interesting selection
-
Engels injured? Not on the bench?
-
Here we go then everyone: our 10-game bid for survival.
The prospect is making me as nervous as I was before the Play-off Final against Derby last year...
Come on you Lions!
-
Drinkwater not even in the matchday squad, I did hear he had returned in fantastic condition??
-
I’ve missed the pre match optimism that follows the announcement of the line up.
-
If we win with that line up we deserve to stay up.
-
If we win with that line-up it will be nothing short of a minor miracle.
-
Looks like the standard 4-3-3 to me, Konsa at RB.
Not sure of some of the selections but we'll see soon enough.
-
If you have listened to Smith's pre-match interview just now on Sky you should understand his reasons behind his line up tonight. He has picked the players who have impressed him most since the return to training. What else is he supposed to do?
-
Nervous for first time in a long time but there's this surrealness to it all and for obvious reasons.
-
Given the circumstances, who knows how the players will respond? I'm treating this as a clean slate and trying to forget November-March happened. Feels like August to me. Yes I have significant doubts, but I'm a lot more positive than if we'd been lining up without three months to reset.
Come on Villa!
-
It's back. That churn of the stomach anxiety all the more so because who knows what will happen in this weird place we find ourselves in?
-
100 days on and the reality dawns why we are in the position we are.........that really is a weak squad - certainly not of the quality required to stay in this league let alone thrive in it - draw :(
-

Plus guilbert has a knock and Engels a longer lay off with Achilles issue
-
Wonder if we’ve ever had 3 strikers on the bench before !
-
Great, Rob Hawthone commentating, doesn't like us. From Tioton.
-

No weaker than Sheff Utd's, in my opinion. Scrape through this season, no matter what, and we can hopefully look forward to better things!
-
Tipton
-
Fanfare as usual, good to hear.
-

Our bench pisses all over theirs. Unless you wish we had 78 year old Jagielka, long retired Jack Rodwell etc on our bench.
-
Utterly ridiculous in real life. 2 metres apart no handshakes then the whistle blows. Fucking bonkers.
-
Nerves are shredded already; how sad is that ??!!
-
The music is...interesting.
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
-
Up the Villa.
Very strange to witness. Who’d have ever thought this is how the season would end??
-
Come on Villa!!
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
Well done.
-
Who’s he announcing the teams to? 😂
-
Interesting decision by Jack re ends.
-
Who’s he announcing the teams to? 😂
It's just to keep as much normality as usual to the players.
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
You sound a right charmer.
-
Jack's hair. Oh the humanity.
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
You sound a right charmer.
A generous description, PWS.
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
You sound a right charmer.
He must be lapping up the kneeling.
-
Stop Horwood playing .... please.
-
No crowd noise is fucking weird on the wireless.
-
The crowd-sound is very distracting - how does one turn it off on Sky?
-
This is weird.
-
Is Farage on here?
-
I'm going to watch it with no sound for a bit to see if being able to hear what they're saying makes it any more interesting. If not I'll turn to the fake noise on the other channel.
-
The crowd-sound is very distracting - how does one turn it off on Sky?
Can't hear any of the radio so it must be Sky doing the crowd noise.
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
Your sense of timing, appreciation for current events, general understanding of much broader and deeper concerns is astonishing. Or maybe just predictable.
-
The crowd-sound is very distracting - how does one turn it off on Sky?
Change from Sky Sports Main Event to the other one - there's a weird squeaking though that is slightly irritating.
-
Doug playing as the deep ball-distributor
-
Henderson saves
-
Good work from Davis.
-

Cheers, duckie.
-
I changed from 5live to WM as the former are wanking over the sense of occasion rather than actually commentating on the game. It’s all a bit weird
-
Lively start, Davis making a nuisance of himself.
-
I wonder if they'll pipe in the booing if we're 0-3 at HT.
-
Davis doing well.
-

I’ve done the same.
-
Good work from Davis.
Agreed, he's playing well so far. I just wish he was more confident at taking on shots.
-
Dean Smith's actually taken up a position from where he can see the whole game.
-
playing well at the moment ...
-
Another chance, Davis over the bar
-
I'm pleasantly surprised at the intensity and speed of game.
-
Ref needs to keep an eye on how many fouls there are here.
-
if only Davis was a goal scorer
-
Davis. Blimey.
-
Chicago Villa has a mohawk?
-
Davis should have scored there!
-
Davis should have done better. But promising.
-
Why is Fred MacAuley advising Smith and Terry?
-
If there is any player in our current squad that just needs a PL goal it is Davis. It would do him the world of good.
-
If there is any player in our current squad that just needs a PL goal it is Davis. It would do him the world of good.
I agree. It must be playing on his mind.
-
...any streams!? the usuals are down!
-
No great shakes so far. We look ok going forward.
-
Why is Fred MacAuley advising Smith and Terry?
O'Kelly's cap social distancing?
-
Douglas looking good
-
Whisper it quietly...but we’re not looking too bad so far.
-
It’s just not football though is it.
-
62% possession for Villa so far. I seem to be on the SKY option of having some background crowd noise piped in. Although you can barely hear it and you can still hear the players shouts.
-
It’s just not football though is it.
Nope, this is a “keep the tv bosses happy” situation.
-
It’s just not football though is it.
Nope, this is a “keep the tv bosses happy” situation.
...and the bookmakers.
-
There could be crowd trouble at Crump Park as the missus and my son are insisting on the crap artificial crowd noise. It just sounds like a cross between a wasps nest and the M42 from 3 miles away.
-
Seems a lot less theatrics as well.
-
We defended a corner!!
-
Does anyone know if this situation has broken a long run of attending matches for any of our fans?
-
Well done Kienan
-
Does anyone know if this situation has broken a long run of attending matches for any of our fans?
Someone on Twitter was saying they hadn’t missed a game since the late 80’s I think he said 😬
-
It is what it is. Until the world is vaccinated which I have doubts will ever happen the things we all used to know, expect are just not going to be the same. There is a mental and social side to resuming certain things like sports that helps people out also. It’s not perfect but it’s never going to happen shutting the planet down. I have immense respect for the medical profession and I have friends in it. And even some of them want something to take them away from what is a demanding situation that here are least is getting a bit better. They’re human too and they would like nothing more than a bit of what it used to be like.
-
Our corners have been great so far.
-
Does anyone know if this situation has broken a long run of attending matches for any of our fans?
I've been to every home league game against Sheff Utd we've played this century. Purely coincidental and I doubt that's what you had in mind!
-
anyone help me I cant find a link
-
Does anyone know if this situation has broken a long run of attending matches for any of our fans?
This is only the 3rd game I've missed at Villa Park since March 1994.
-
A 'cooling break'!
-
Drinks break. Fucking hell this is shit.
-
Yes. Not football.
Grealish not great so far.
-
Drinks break. Fucking hell this is shit.
They're playing in the summer, it's the same as often happens in the Euros and World Cup.
-
Luiz booked
-
Drinks break. Fucking hell this is shit.
So they can show some adverts
-
Davis is putting them under pressure and working hard upfront.
McGinn's been a little anonymous thus far.
Jack trying to orchestrate everything and getting fouled.
-
Surely a penalty for us there though?
-
pen?
-
Surely a penalty for us there though?
I'm not sure how he doesn't even look at that?
-
No VAR?
-
luis looks ok
-
VAR does us another favour
-
Why didn’t they stop the clock for the drinks break? It seems a bit counter productive.
-
Just grateful to have found the channel without the artificial crowd noise. I don't like it one iota.
-
I don't normally have a moan about decisions but that really did look like a pen. Took his leg away surely.
-

agree
-
I see as usual nobody in the Lower Trinity singing
-
Has VAR been abandoned?
-
I don't normally have a moan about decisions but that really did look like a pen. Took his leg away surely.
The last angle seemed pretty obvious that the guy made a lot more contact than the commentators were suggesting. Might have been harsh but was definitely enough contact for it to be looked at.
-
Has VAR been abandoned?
It will be brought out against us later don’t worry.
-
We look alright.
We look sharper than Sheffield United do, at least.
-

Liverpool would have got it
-
Someone tell El Ghazi football has restarted.
-
McGinn very quiet.
-
We look alright.
We look sharper than Sheffield United do, at least.
Jinx
-
Running out of steam now, need to make sure we get into half time at 0-0.
-
The amount of times they don't compete for headers and instead just give our player a nudge in the back is starting to piss me off because the ref doesn't give a fuck about it.
-
BBC reckon it was a pen
-
Hause should have done better
-
Listening on 5 Live and they seem convinced it was a pen.
-
How many fucking chances??????
-
Got to put one of these away soon. Please.
-
Fuck me. Where is the yellow card?
-
Niggly fuckers aren’t they.
-
How was Luiz booked but Berge wasn't?
-
Listening on 5 Live and they seem convinced it was a pen.
All the more strange there was no VAR review
-
Listening on 5 Live and they seem convinced it was a pen.
All the more strange there was no VAR review
Do you not remember how VAR works?
-
I am glad it wasn't just me who thought it was a nailed on penalty. The commentator muttered some stuff about how he went down.
-
Is the intensity notably down? Been thinking for a while that the remainder of the season may suit technical sides over more physical ones.
-
Blimey.
-
Kortney Hause playing on the right side of defence is an accident waiting to happen.
-
Fuck me man. How did that stay out?
-
It didn't stay out, how was it not given
-
got away with one there
-
That’s a goal we just dodged
-
Fucking come on Villa! Fucking hell what happened there?
-
Technology for you.
-
Wow, utterly hopeless, farcical.
-
Fuck me man. How did that stay out?
Apparently, it didn’t.
-
Thank God for goal line technology, that looked a a very close one. The commentator still reckons it was in though.
-
Can't believe they haven't gone back for that, what is the point of VAR, does that even up the pen?
-
Computer says no 🤣
-
That's levelled things up.
-
that owes us for the Palace goal
-
that went over - no doubt
-
Hahahaha
-
As much as we moan about VAR (justifiably for us) it's a scandal they can't just tell the ref it crossed the line if his watch isn't working.
Went for us but imagine we get denied like that in the last minute if it's still 0-0.
-
Seems we got away with one for once.
-
Thank God for goal line technology, that looked a a very close one. The commentator still reckons it was in though.
It looks clearly "in" ! Crikey
-
Coronavirus rules: there has to be social distancing between ball and post.
-
Nyland back to being shit then?
-
Fuck me man. How did that stay out?
Apparently, it didn’t.
Haha officially it did. There’s clearly no VAR at all. 1-1 it remains on that front.
-
Looks pretty clear but there's a blatant shove on Mings as the ball was coming over and it makes up for the penalty.
-
Nyland back to being shit then?
He's always been pretty rubbish on high balls despite his better games this season.
-
so many replays - that was a disaster
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eau1zxBX0AEWLOk?format=jpg&name=large)
-
Samatta and Davis upfront second half?
-
The goal line thing is the most efficient part of the new technology in football but that was a colossal fuck up.
-
HT
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eau1zxBX0AEWLOk?format=jpg&name=large)
Never a goal.
😬
-
It's Schrödinger's ball. It is both inside and outside the goal. Quantum mechanics came to our rescue.
-
Another long ball from Mings.....
-
So, if GLT didn’t work, where was VAR? Why wasn’t it challenged?
-
Starting to look flat
-
We need the technology to get these things right, the games too big not to.
Arf.
-
Fucking hell. Nyland was holding that ball in Row AA of the Holte.
-
Not a bad half but warning signs in last 15 minutes of what Sheffield United are good at.
Need the manager to step up in second half and help the players e.g. don't keep McGinn on until his leg is nearly hanging off. Samatta on within 10 minutes seems logical aswell as he'd surely put away that Davis chance.
-
Got away with one on technology grounds there I think.
Davis, Douglas and El Ghazi have been purposeful.
Mings has been poor. Hawse terrifies me.
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eau2zHDXsAAlSlI?format=jpg&name=large)
-
Change things up please Dean. You’ve got 5 rolls of the dice don’t forget.
-
A farce within a farce.
-
Davis on his own doesn't work.
-
I thought that maybe the ball had been in contact with the post at all times and therefore not completely behind the line.
However, the replay clearly showed that the ball was way over :)
-
Lucky not to be a goal down there. Davis is a battering ram and nothing else. We look toothless. We need Grealish and SJM in the game more. We have looked fairly comfortable at the back, apart from the fuck up from Nyland.
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eau1zxBX0AEWLOk?format=jpg&name=large)
Never a goal.
😬
I actually thought the majority of the ball crossed the line but not all of the ball. However that picture clearly shows the whole of the ball was over the line.
-
If the ball is touching the post, does that count as the line?
-
Have these players ever heard of pressing and urgency?
-
Maybe it wasn’t all of the ball.
Get over it.
-
Better side on balance. Missed a couple of good headers. Davis is knocking them about and Nyland too it seems. Oh well, technology has fucked us countless times this season.
Defensive work is good, but we need to watch their persistent overlap.
Looked a penalty to me. He kicks El Gahzi.
Hourihane and Dougie ok, Jack a bit quiet, McGinn unsurprisingly very quiet. Over all not bad.
-
The best thing about that is that it would have been given in pre Goal line technology era
-
Mings has been awful constantly dwalding on the ball or just wacking it aimlessly
Luiz best player really , has mopped up well a few times shame he got a card.Right side not working as an attacking threat will likely need to stick AEM on.
Davis does alot right but think he needs to score from that chance
-
Yes....Karma pay back for the shitshow at Crystal Palace. Thanks God, we owe you one.....
-
Lucky not to be a goal down there. Davis is a battering ram and nothing else. We look toothless. We need Grealish and SJM in the game more. We have looked fairly comfortable at the back, apart from the fuck up from Nyland.
Yeah I’d agree on that we need more cutting edge.
-
Goal line technology not switched on. Maybe the refs wrist band battery ran out.
-
I think Dean is after a clean sheet and a point.
-

This for me. Hope we can kick on second half. Kieron should have scored
-
Love Ian Taylor. Wish we had him in the side now, ahead of Hourihane.
-
Have these players ever heard of pressing and urgency?
I think by and large we’ve done that quite well.
-
Both teams look well Rusty...well, with us you never know. Our defence was starting to creak once Sheff Utd got going
-
Thanks to Michael Oliver's dodgy watch, it's still 0-0, terrible goalkeeping though.
-
I think Dean is after a clean sheet and a point.
Well he can fuck that sky high. We need all three. He used to say before the break that it the matches against those around us that were the important ones. Not any more. We can't be settling for a point at home.
-
Tyrone needs to switch on.
-
We need to take advantage of a piss poor decision going our way for once.
-
We do.
-
Not the disaster i was half-expecting, but Sheffield don't look too good either so could really go either way in the 2nd
-
Jamie Redknapp said it was "A spiteful ball in" for the goal that wasn't given. Maybe this is the first time a ref has disallowed a goal because it was "Spiteful".
-
We need to take advantage of a piss poor decision going our way for once.
Exactly. We don't want to be dropped on nought and fail to capitalise.
-
We are owed a few decisions our way.
-
Any further back and Nyland would have been in the ticket office.
-
I don’t recall Brentford having a constantly launch it from the back tactic yet we keep on employing it. One of my hopes coming back into this is we stop doing that. We do and it lose the ball constantly.
-
I thought we played quite well on the whole although the HT whistle came at the right time for us. How that wasn’t a goal I don’t know but I thought the officiating was garbage for the whole half really. Hopefully a bit more quality in the final third in the second half will see us over the line. UTV
-
Not sure what to make of that to be honest. Looked reasonably solid, though played ourselves into trouble a couple of times. In a funny way, I think the slower pace and reduced physicality suits us a bit, especially players like Douglas.
Davis has caused them problems, but the key players in McGinn and Grealish haven't really been in the game too much.
-
I don’t recall Brentford having a constantly launch it from the back tactic yet we keep on employing it. One of my hopes coming back into this is we stop doing that. We do and it lose the ball constantly.
Watching Hause and Konsa I get nervous when they don’t hoof it.
-
Ref will be absolutely be evening that up.
-
Kortney Hause playing on the right side of defence is an accident waiting to happen.
Cant understand that selection at all, has anyone any idea what possible rationale Smith could have used on this?
He gave away that stupid free kick in the lead up to the goal that wasnt
Elmo on bench, no sign of Guilbert or Engels?
Nyland showed the presence of a ghost for that goal
Might be no harm bringing Nakamba in for McGinn soon enough, he looks miles off the pace
-
Bright in the first ten/fifteen minutes. Faded since then.
Understandable, but the game does seem to be lacking in pace and intensity. Nearly all the chances coming from set pieces.
-
Maybe it wasn’t all of the ball.
Get over it.
It was almost all of two balls. And this is a discussion thread! And that is worth a discussion.
-
Tried both channels and i prefer the crowd noise. It was just too weird without for me.
-
I don’t recall Brentford having a constantly launch it from the back tactic yet we keep on employing it. One of my hopes coming back into this is we stop doing that. We do and it lose the ball constantly.
I thought this tactic worked quite well for most of the half: Davis is bullying their CB and our MF has picked up the 2nd ball alot. Hause worries me bigtime.
-
Did they show the hawkeye graphic on Sky? If not i'm guessing the technology wasn't working?
-
Love Ian Taylor. Wish we had him in the side now, ahead of Hourihane.
Think you're being over critical of Hourihane, him along with Luiz and Davis been our best players in that half.
-
It comes to something when you have to rely on your watch to give a goal.
Eyes obviously don’t count any more.
-
Let's see if Oliver 'balances up' the mistake during the 2nd half ...
-
Apparently the ref has said he thought it was a goal and that Hawkeye suffered a technical fault in not confirming it.
-
Dodgy penalty on the way against us no doubt.
-
Did they show the hawkeye graphic on Sky? If not i'm guessing the technology wasn't working?
From overhead, no they didn't
-
I genuinely didn't realise that Hourihane was playing.
-
We got lucky with that decision and yet again it was down to player error.
That's the last time I back Nyland to start.
-

They scored a goal and should be leading.
Get over it.
-
no mention of the pen at ht

Well, we were due one 😀
-
no mention of the pen at ht
How that wasn't given a second look on VAR is also beyond me.
-
he had it held in the side netting!?!? Bonkers but good and rather amusing.
-
VAR didn't seem to look at our penalty shout, maybe the technology is bost.
-
I’d give el Ghazi the hook now.
-

They said on the commentary that it was and the VAR lot agreed with the ref.
-
Good save from Henderson
-
Something going on off-field that they don't want us to know about - no VAR or GLT it seems - wonder what's up...
-
good effort
-
We got lucky with that decision and yet again it was down to player error.
That's the last time I back Nyland to start.
Wasn't Nyland's problem: he caught ball. Davis was at fault.
Having said that, Nyland maybe should have punched the ball.
-
Thought that was in from Davis.
-
I like Davis.
-
Davis bustle creating chances but can't help feeling Samatta would've finished one of them off.
Perhaps getting them both on the field at same time would be the solution in the run in.
-
I’d give el Ghazi the hook now.
Overdue.

He shouldn't really catch the ball and end end up in the back of the net with it though.
-
I’d give el Ghazi the hook now.
I’d probably prefer McGinn.
-
I like Davis.
Me too, but he's not exactly prolific.
-
Goal lines matter

Noone at fault imo. Davis' momentum took him into the goalkeeper and Nyland did well to gather it up just before it crossed the line.
-
I’d give el Ghazi the hook now.
Overdue.
He’s started poncing around and is very slow to react to anything.

Passenger and giving the ball away.
-
Our corners have looked quite dangerous for a change.
-
We seemed to score from a corner every other week in the championship....probably shows the difference in defending at top level.
One of the things that has most disappointed me this season, we don't really look a threat at them unless Hourihane is on the pitch.
-
Glad Hawkeye and VAR are both human after all
-
Another chance
-
Zero VAR reviews, our penalty and their goal, something not right.
-
What a chance !
-
fuck thought that was the one
-
Davis just a nearly striker with finishing, can't quite get timing right with crosses, shots aren't quite in the corners so keepers can always get to them.
Still he's been a threat and needs a run of games.
-
That WAS the chance!!
-
Is Samatta quicker than Davis? I cant remember at all!
-
That pass from Jack is perfection, so unlucky not to get something from that.
-
Another save from Henderson
-
So close!
-
Come in Villa!!!
-
all villa ..mcgin probbaly shuld have done better
-
Shades of Gazza 96
-
That’s a fucking pen !
-
Has someone forgotten to turn VAR on too?
-
That’s a pen on Mings surely?
-
Henderson looking annoyingly decent
-
What a pass from Jack. WC.
-
Penalty for me.
-
2 great chances and then Mings is fouled in the box!
-
Evened up on the var.
-
Deffo a pen for the foul on Mings and something is starting to seem a bit fishy regarding several decisions.
-
We'll be getting fuck all (else) from this ref.
-
I have this image of the sound guy being one of those really party entertainers from the 1980s, sat there on a keyboard, pressing the occasional button.
-
Shades of Gazza 96
Exactly what I was thinking
-
I’d be bringing on Samatta soon. Davis starting to look a little leggy.
-
No subs yet; strange.
-
What a shit cross from Hourihane.
-
Trez and Samagoal coming on
-
Trez and Samagoal coming on
Aye. Good changes
-
What a shit cross from Hourihane.
Konsa goes one better. Dreadful
-
We seem to do everything so slowly.
-
We do seem to enjoy taking the sting out of the game, when we are in possession !
-
come on Villa. We need 3 points
-
The Aston Villa nil bit pleases me. A few more of those this season and we wouldn’t be in the bottom 3. Of course we’ve royally fucked up late in games so we need to keep it tight and get one ourselves. We’ve come close.
-
Nearly gifted them a goal
-
Like for like changes, would've kept Davis on for 10 minutes more just to see what would happen.
-
Twat Hause !
-
Fucking hell Hause
-
I said earlier he’s an accident waiting to happen
-
Awful pass from Hause!!
-
Beyond poor from Hause.
-
This defence will relegate us. Stupid mistakes
-
Fucking hell Hause
Now that's why we are where we are.
-
We will ever see a villa manager brave enough to play 2 up front again?
-
Two defensive howlers, both unpunished. We have to make this count.
-
Like for like
He’s changed nothing
-
Surprised they haven't put Mousset on, he's the only forward they have who can actually run.
-
Nakamba on, that's a sensible move.
-
What is the logic behind the five subs thing?
-
Nakamba on, that's a sensible move.
Sensible Nakamba.
-
What is the logic behind the five subs thing?
Players gassed after 70 minutes so tries to stop more injuries although Bundesliga still had plenty compared to a normal season.
-
Imagine how fucked Drinky would be at this point.
-
We're not going to score, are we?
-
No
-
I didnt expect us to get anything but a point just isnt going to be enough (edit: if we're lucky enough to get one, obviously!)
-
We're not going to score, are we?
No
-
West ham at home again
-
We're not going to score, are we?
No
Nope
-
Jack’s hair looks nice
-
Still waiting for a SCORCHIO!
-
Why have we stopped whipping the corners in?
-
no, this is lame isn't it.
-
Damn it legion... I saw scorchio! And got excited... should have known better
-
We lose momentum so easily
-
Can you imagine if the end of the PL was this game, us playing our game in hand?
-
With 10 games, there should be no reason not to play 2 upfront - it's all or nothing surely...
-
We have to score. This is our game in hand. We must win to rebuild confidence
-
What's the foul count against Grealish?
-
Everything flounders on Hourihane.
-
This has been such a poor game of football.
-
We’ve stopped playing now
-
How long left before the last-minute cock-up?
-
We are running out of games be brave Villa
-
How long left before the last-minute cock-up?
Not long. Be patient.
-
Both sides getting stretched fatigue kicking in.
Mental concentration vital now.
Focus, focus, focus.
Poor passing out from the back is putting pressure back on us.
-
Lots of knackered players out there
-
How long left before the last-minute cock-up?
I think the answer is in the question
-
Petering out now. I'll take a point and clean sheet considering we'd lose four on the bounce. Sometimes you need that sort of result to break the negative cycle.
We do still desperately need to win a game in next 10 days though otherwise the task will be too hard I think.
-
We’ve officially entered the Villa pooping it segment of the game. We need to see this through. A point is better than nothing.
-
Show some fucking urgency !
-
This defence will relegate us. Stupid mistakes
We fanny about way too much in our own defensive third of the pitch and create problems of our own making.
-
Have Sheffield used all their subs, you lose track with the extra two allowed.
Four extra minutes.
-
This has been an utter fucking dreadful game of football.
-

Setting traps...

4 mins added time

Yep....backwards, sideways.
-
well it didnt feel like a cup final deano
-

No. They've used 3. We've used 4.
-
This has been such a poor game of football.
Indeed. MOTM goes to the groundsman.
-
that last attack sums up villa
-
The club calls you LIONS Show some Pride
-
Circumstances, yes I understand.
But this is pretty shit considering we have had weeks to work up a desire and passion.
-
should hve kept davis on
-
that last attack sums up villa
Yep, poor and unimaginative.
-
Second to everything most of the game. No changes there then.
-
3 months to prepare for this and they can't fucking win. FFS!
-
We’ve been the better side. 14 shots to their 6. We’ve deserved to win but you have to execute on the better chances. And we once again haven’t.
-
Circumstances, yes I understand.
But this is pretty shit considering we have had weeks to work up a desire and passion.
So have SU and were they any better?
-
Only away games Sheffield United have lost this season are at Man. City and Liverpool.
They are very tough to break down. I'm happy we've created some decent chances at least.
-
that last attack sums up villa
I'm sure we practice that attack every day at Bodymoor.
-
Crosses from.open play have been poor
-
We were the better team in the first half and started the second half pretty well too but sod all since.
-
FT 0-0
-
well it didnt feel like a cup final deano
This. Two up front was the way for me for this game. Needed to get momentum with a win in this game. The remaining fixtures look really tough.
-
flat and dull as usual but we didnt concede
-
Chelsea, Man U, arse, Liverpool.
We don’t stand a chance
-
Well that was shite.
-
This is _the_ most Villa result ever. The Premier League is back! First up! Aston Villa!
Villa see out a very shite 0-0.
-
Crosses from.open play have been poor
Good corners though, Samatha will profit from that delivery if it continues
-
Circumstances, yes I understand.
But this is pretty shit considering we have had weeks to work up a desire and passion.
There was plenty early on but both sides are clearly tired now, we've been easily the better team though.
-
This defence will relegate us. Stupid mistakes

Setting traps...
I thought the idea was to set traps for the opposition and not ourselves.
-
Circumstances, yes I understand.
But this is pretty shit considering we have had weeks to work up a desire and passion.
So have SU and were they any better?
Bang on, they're the ones supposedly chasing Champions League, with away disadvantage removed.
-
I predict the first goalscorer will be called 'Black Lives Matter'. What a fucking joke.
You were wrong.
In every possible way.
