Is this the pre-match thread? Maybe it will be lucky having kippaxvilla2 starting it. :)

Every week we follow
The boys in claret and blue
We even conquered Europe in 1982
The Villa boys from Aston
We'll back you from our screens
We'll virtually be with you
Cos claret's in our genes
Allez allez allez

What a massive game. The eyes of the world watching, no fans in the stadium, Coronavirus still rife, Dean mourning, and that twat Martin Tyler shouting "AND IT'S LIVE' Football is back, but not as we know it.
-
3-3 draw
-
We need a win because they’ll probably cancel the season after these two games are played. Bottom 3 will then drop.
-
So we were involved in the last Premier League game before football shut down and we will be involved in the first games of the restart.
-
Guess the crowd. I'll start

From my understanding of what I have read they will be playing out all of the remaining games.

0
Quality.
-
I hope everyone guesses 0 as they'll be wrong and i'll win the league!
Example, attendance was 167 v Besiktas in 1982.

Official figures only.

Official figures only.
167 was the official figure.

I've got a prediction.
We'll win, and some po-faced arse will post that maybe there's a lesson in this and we as fans place unreasonable expectations on them and cause them to be repeatedly shit and that this proves it.
-
Dear Mr Anorak,
I am not being serious.
Ours will be -1874 in order to help with the UC claim.
Best wishes,
Makeitallupstatto.

I hope the first part is correct.

Yes well its our game and Man City v Arsenal first up on the 17th, so I would assume we will be on at 5:30 with the other game on at 8pm. All games are scheduled to be shown live on TV somewhere. The weekend schedule will be a game on Fri, 4 Sat, 4 Sun and 1 Mon with all games Sat and Sun kicking off at different times. I don't know how they are going to handle the final game of the season as these normally kick off at the same time. Hopefully Lplop will wrap up the title in the first 2 games back and the attention will then turn to the battle for survival. For us it means playing 10 games in 39 days.
-
Looks like that's it then, obviously now official, the season restarts in a few weeks and the Villa game is first out the blocks. This is going to be the new normal.

Early game on a midweek is 6pm. I assume it will be on pick given Sky will have Man. City-Arsenal to hype up for hours on end.
It makes sense to play the spare games and get every team level in terms of games played at least.

Agreed. Everything else will be superfluous. Like Krusty’s third nipple. In fact they can shut the league down right after and relegate the bottom three for all I care.

I have a question concerning season ticket holders, as I heard that Villa have refunded the remaining games (not one myself any longer sadly)....
What if fans don't have sky/bt sport subscriptions? Will they be expected to fork out for subs to watch our matches? Surely they should be given FREE access to watch the home matches at the very least, being ever-presents at the club?
-
Why if they’ve already refunded the tickets?
-
I don't think the refund has come through yet. But yes, we've already received our bulk discount on games attended, the free game etc and will be getting our money back or credit for the remaining. I don't see why the club or Sky should feel the need to fund us beyond that.
If you can't afford Sky (I doubt I'll be restarting my subscription) just search for Flash Streams or Footy Streamz on twitter.
-
Just watch it in the pub.
Doh!
-
My first game back will be when the grounds are open again.
I haven't watched a live epl fixture on tv since 2016 (including Villa) and I don't intend to start now.
I just don't like the epl boxed version of football with its shite commentators, washed up pundits and its general all round biase towards london and north western teams (and its pointless playing it on silent).
I either attend games (which I've done from the age of 7) or rely on Villa mad family/ friends who are there to keep me updated.
If what is proposed floats your boat, enjoy it, but it's not for me.
That said I obviously wish the Villa the very best in the coming weeks. Come on lads let's get the points we need! UTV!

Lockdown was the new normal. Post lockdown will be the new new normal. ;)

Doh!
People can be forgiven for forgetting those things we used to call pubs. You can guarantee if you walk into your local there will be at least one person sitting in the same seat he was sitting in the last time you saw him before lockdown. Giving the impression he might actually have been sat there for the last couple of months.
-
Pubs have reopened here in NZ. Just a pain the games will be early morning or middle of the night over here.
-
Has there been any info about how they're going to schedule the remaining games? Presumably there will need be around 2 games a week if they intend to leave a clear gap between the end of this, and the start of the next season..?

Three midweek rounds apparently. They want to end the season on weekend of July 23rd.
-
I’m guessing pie sales will be down.
-
But the queues will still be horrendous.
-
What we all need to do is turn up en masse to Villa Park on the 17th. 40,000 outside. Let's win the game and get out of the bottom three. Then the authorities will analyse what happened outside the ground beforehand and finally abandon the season with the points totals gathered to date deciding the league positions.

Maybe Dominic Cummings will come, if we ask him. Oh it wont be a problem if he turns up
-
I can't wait to see us playing again albeit on TV we need to beat Sheff Utd.
-
There are reports the first game v Sheff Utd will be 6pm on Wednesday 17th June and live on Sky Sports.
-
3-3 draw
Can we play Andre Green for this one ! Or at least the last 15 mins !
-
We are first up at home to Sheffield United. June 17th.
So its the talk 6pm for this match and then 8pm for the irrelevant one of Arsenal and ffp swindlers man city ?
Having seen the variety of times when matches are to played I note the new broadcast kick off times of 6pm in weekdays.
3pm Saturday and 7pm Sundays .
This isn't confirmed but that's what's being touted.
Along with the regular kick off times accustomed for showing live games
I think the official fixtures/broadcast and kick off times get announcement tomorrow or Friday after the big prem league meeting
BBC have Bournemouth v Palace as one of their 4 matches and first match on 20th June Saturday 8pm
-
I’ll be happy with a win, and no fake crowd noise being pumped in.
-
Dear Mr Makesitallupstatto
You are not fit to comb the fake fur in Mr Anorak's anorak
Best wishes

I think we could, as he returned at the end of May. I don't think we will, though.
