Need poll added squire
I don't know how to do it 😭
Does a mod need to do it or can I do it?
-
2-1 Villa win Wes and SJM scoring.
-
Tough game away at Palace, 1-1.
-
Palace 1 Villa 3
-
1st away of the season with my son, so come on Villa 0-2 👍
-
Poll added. Only mods can add a poll to an existing thread, mere mortals can start a thread with a poll though, just click "new poll" instead of "new topic".

And don’t worry. It’s absolutely ok just being a mere mortal.

2-0 Villa.

If we lose there won’t be a next time Smirker, however if we win 8-3 I pretty sure you’ll become resident match pollster
-
They're better suited away from home, we're still finding our feet a little, 1-1.
-
I don't think there will be many goals in it. I expect it to be quite cagey, so first goal is key. No naivety or we will be punished.
I'd go with;
Heaton
Taylor
England's Tyrone Mings
Engels
Guilbert
Douglas
McGinn
Grealish
El Ghazi
Wesley
Jota
-
Birthday win please Villa.
-
I'll take a draw after last weeks bonus win
-
If we defend really well (you'd think Emperor Mings will be in a good mood after today's news) then I fancy us to grind out a 0-1.
Would take a draw but think this is our best opportunity in the coming weeks for a prem away win.
Double up on Zaha and they don't have much else to hurt you with although Ayew had a stormer last week, Man. United probably preparing 60m bid in January.
Hopefully Benteke will think it's 2014 again and dribble from halfway line and score in his own net, that must be our only win at Selhurst since the mid 90s?
-
We will FTF.
-
Got a feel of a 1-0 Villa win about it for me. Hopefully we turn in a big performance before the early international break.
-
D 1-1.

Can't the peasants modify their own initial post any more?
-
Non mods can edit their own posts and thread titles, but I don't think they can add a poll once they've started a thread. Not 100% sure as it's difficult remembering how it was as a commoner.
-
I'm going to this. I apologise for the result.
-
1-3 Palace battered to fuck.
-
All my Palace friends at work and in the pub are not very hopeful of this game.
Very odd negativity from them.
-
Hope we win. My daughter's class is 90% palace fans and it would be nice for her to go back taking the piss out of them for a change!
-
I work with three Palace fans, having never met one before I started there. I like them all so I'm not sure what my point is, but I'm delighted that I've made it.
-
We are due a draw - 2-2. Wesley and Engels.
-

My late father in law was a big Palace fan, and my brother in law and his kids are season ticket holders and they go away a lot.
No point to it either, other than I hope we batter them so I can laugh at the gobshite when I next see him.
(He's actually a great bloke, just an incessant wind up merchant)
-
I think we’ll win again
-
1-3 Palace battered to fuck.
I agree 1-3 villa are back message to the rest
-
They win away at Manure and lose at home to Colchester, so who knows.
A lot may depend on how Zaha plays. Hasn't looked bothered until he played his old team Manure.
-
I'm going to this. I apologise for the result.
So am I. Worked out quite well last time we were at the same match!
-
Really can see it going any way so won't make a prediction. Wesley will be important again and after the physical battle with Mina he's now got an experienced centre-half to go up against in Cahill.
We need to keep Zaha quiet, big game for Douglas and the fullbacks.
-
0-0
-

I'm delighted you've made it as well as I've never met a Palace fan either apart from a London cabbie.
-
I think we might win this by a couple of clear goals.
-
Looking forward to tomorrow, though not the journey.
I hope they've fixed the rust issues on the seating framework as last time I was there a row collapsed under someone when they jumped onto their seat to celebrate Petrov's equaliser in the cup.
Not sure what Palace will turn up, but think we will go in with confidence and make a game of it. Also really hoping Benteke doesn't hurt the only fans that truly love him!
-
We won't win, we never do at Selhurst Park. I've seen us many times there v Palace, Charlton and Wimbledon (including the infamous invisible penalty shoot out at the other end in the fog!) and only ever seen us lose. Although I'm not actually going tomorrow.....
-
The only win against Palace there I can remember is the 1-0, when Benteke scored.
-
By my reckoning we've played Palace away 20 times and won 3 of them, all 1-0. The Benteke game, Shaw scoring in 1980 and Godrey in 1968.
-
We're 5/2 to win. Not sure I've ever seen us that high, to win against Palace. Worth a punt?
-
I think we might win this by a couple of clear goals.
Nah, Palace's defence rocks.
-
Never seen us win there either despite many trips, and yes unfortunately I'm going tomorrow.
Will be happy with a dull 0-0.
-
Consensus seems to be a draw’s likely and that’s a good result. 4 points off 4 games given how many players we’re bedding in and our fixtures is fine.
-
0-2
-
be nice just to see us improve again tomorrow, will take a draw now but obviously would love a win !
UTV
The Doc
-
Well, according to the swingometer thread, Fulham lost both games to Palace, so picking up something would be good in that respect.
-
1-1.
-
They won't be as defensive as they were at Man U and I think we can hurt them.
Palace 0 Villa 1
-
A long shot but I am due to stop in L’Escala tomorrow on the Costa Brava. Anybody about to watch the game or know of place there that might show it?
-
Palace are a tougher proposition than Crewe. 5-1 to us.
-
A draw wouldn't surprise me and wouldn't be a bad result either.
-
Palace only managed 5 wins at home last season. A loss here would be very disappointing, a draw would be acceptable, a win would give an indication that we're to be taken seriously.
-
Appreciate the heads up on Zaha Vill I an.

Uncle Woy on Villa:
"I noticed that Dean [Smith], when he was first appointed, he took on a group of players that he’d inherited and had been there for a period of time. However, as his reign continued towards the latter part of last season, we saw already his thoughts on how he wanted the team to play and in particular the type of players he wanted at the club.
"A lot of the players he brought in [on loan] he has now signed, the likes of Tyrone Mings were there with him and have now signed for the club; the club have invested heavily and well to back his [Dean Smith's] judgements and the way he wants to play.
"The way they’ve started the season, looking like a very dangerous opponent, doesn’t surprise me one bit A) because I know Dean and the work he does and B) I think the club has gone about its business in a very intelligent way."
-
Love a win but would take a draw.

Well, he's not going to get many job offers from Talksport if he keeps coming out with that kind of level-headedness!
I was slightly taken aback to see that their home record in our absence has been pretty poor, 6/7/5 wins a season. I do recall a lot of hype about their home support when they first came up, Ultras and all that. Maybe it's just us that think of it as a tough place to go. Ah well, not any more.
Our incremental improvement to continue. I didn't see the Crewe game, so I don't know if there's much likelihood of (m)any changes from the side that started last week. 2-0 us, a better one than last time out, more controlled. Mings, Wes.

Nice.
He's taken some flak down the years, but I have a lot of respect for Woy, he's had an amazing career given where he started from.

We need the points on the board while we’re showing some form and before our nightmare run of games comes. 0-2 Villa (Wesley, Mings)
-
Confident about this one - 1-3 hopefully.
-
Well looking forward to today. Off to the groomers to get sheared, snaffle a crisp butty, then meeting my mate for the drive down.
It will be an interesting game. I think we need to put in a performance to keep the feel of progress and it will be a big test for us. A win would make this a massive week for us and sends a very positive message. A draw would be respectable and an improvement compared to Spurs away, leaving us with four points from four which would be the minimum survival points accumulation you’d say.
A loss would be hard as far as perception goes, because it never looks good losing three of four, but at this stage of the season I don’t think it would be as bad as outside observers would have everyone believe. Performance is key for me today.
-
I'm confident about this one as well. I think it's because of how we've played overall. I didn't think we were that bad in the first two defeats, just naive and trying to find our feet. We're not totally there yet but I do fancy us today. 1-2. Big Wes and McGinn. Chris Armstrong for them.
-
Are any pubs in town likely to be showing the match?
-
Class act is Woy.
-
Had my Saturday tiny dabble. Wes 2nd favourite behind CB to score anytime. And noticed Archer backed to 7/2 to score anytime today. For perspective, SJM is 5/1!
And not Villa, but I've never noticed odds available on a 10-0 PL scoreline before. Yours for Man City today, at 400/1.
-
Going for a 2-1 Villa win, we're scoring goals now, we have momentum, if we can keep this going this is the kind of game to do just that, that said, if we come away with a draw and putting points or a point on the board, delighted with that.
Come on Villa get this sorted.
-
We need the points on the board while we’re showing some form and before our nightmare run of games comes. 0-2 Villa (Wesley, Mings)
That won't be until start of November. Would be good to get 15 points before we hit that period.
-
Are any pubs in town likely to be showing the match?
Broad Street used to be mad for that a few years ago, always showing our away 3pms.
The Royal in Sutton was showing some of our championship aways last season but think those were just the red button games so don't know if they still operate in the piracy.
-
Come on Villa boys, you can do these! A first away win of the season (this early into it) would certainly make everybody take notice. There's nothing to fear and lots to gain. UTV!
-
Going 1 nil Villa, Jack with the winner.
-
There's an extremely self-satisfied West Ham fan on my train to Clapham Junction who is loudly proclaiming that people hate the dildo brothers because they're businessmen. It took all my self-control to not shout in his fat face that it's because they're pornographers who give even that trade a bad name.
-
This strikes me as the first squeaky bum test of the season, Bournemouth was a bit different. One that's on the table to win when we're possibly an even money chance (who knows the odds, I don't care, I'll call it evens). I hope that DS sees this as a chance to smell blood. Remembering how horrible it was when we were hovering as Palace has, I've no grievances towards them but hope that the Villa can catch them out. A close encounter that ends in a shock late blowout in our favour.
1-4 if I'm hopeful. Less possession, more goals.
-
In addition to only beating them away 3 times, we've never scored more than 2 away to Palace, and we've only managed 2 three times, A 4-2 defeat and a couple of 2-2 draws.
Conversely, Palace are nearly as bad at VP, only scored more than 1 once and that was in a 4-3 defeat.
