I will be flying over for the final on my own. Do we know yet which will be the Villa pubs around the stadium? Where is everyone planning to be before the game? Cant wait for this and so happy its Derby instead of Leeds (for our chances and the atmosphere).
Any advice appreciated. Thanks

We've been allocated the West Side of the stadium, so it'll be the pubs that side of the ground.
For me it'll be the Green Man!
-
Don't go to the Green Man, it'll be absolute bedlam. It is a place where the kids will go (no offence).
Where are you staying in London? A load of us used the Swiss Cottage pub just outside Swiss Cottage tube station last time. The tube goes directly to Wembley stadium as well. The pub is not heaving either.

Its a day trip as I will be in Dublin the weekend before for a wedding so will be heading to Wembley from Heathrow.

Harrow on the Hill is also just a coupe of stops in a straight line to wembley & is a great place to drink pre match!

Is that the Ye Olde Swiss Cottage?

I know it's horses for courses and whatnot but I can't think of anywhere less appealing to go than the Green Man when you're in a city awash with high quality places to drink.

Kilburn is always full of Villa when we go wembley.

Yep. Decent enough pub, right by the tube station and therefore really quick and easy to get to Wembley afterwards.

Have you got a ticket this year?

The Green Man was brilliant last year...I’ll be there again this time. Not sure if the weather will be as good though.

Arrrr! Went back to having a season ticket last year (it was FA Cup year that I was struggling).
I've an American colleague who joined the company two years ago, loves football, came over as an Arsenal fan. Introduced him to Villa, killed that Arsenal bullshit stone dead, had a season ticket the last two seasons now. Actually said to me the other day "I didn't choose Villa, Villa chose me". Fair brought a tear to my eye.
He thinks it is entirely normal to go to Wembley once a season.
He's also lucked upon a spell of plenty of really entertaining matches. I had to explain how fucking horrific the last 6 years had been and that in each of those years, I had enjoyed about 3 matches a season, tops.

Tops!!! 😉

Kilburn High Street is normally a good place with lots of pubs and a short trip to Wembley.

A season?!
I'm struggling to think of 3 matches in total that I enjoyed during the TSM, Lambert, Sherwood, Garde, RDM, Bruce era - Sunderland 6-1 at home. Liverpool FA Cup semi-final. And...

West Brom QF? Return to the Dark Ages and all that!
-
Sunderland away, Everton home under Dim Tim, Liverpool away under TSM2, Wolves and Bristol City home with Bruce. There’s a few. Not many though. Absolutely nothing at all under Garde.

That game did cross my mind but I was away and ended up watching it on telly with my Baggies-supporting brother-in-law!
So it was good, but more for the fact I could bait a Bitter in close proximity!

Did we win a game under garde??

Two in the league. Palace and Norwich.

The Palace game their keeper threw one in between his legs, borderline our player of the season.

Kilburn has loads of watering holes.

Won't get a ticket, I will be watching on my own, wouldn't have it any other way.

Beating Man City at home 3-2 with a front pair of Kozak and Weimann was also fun. Beating Chelsea 3-1 away under TSM? Agree with the original point though, it was all pretty bleak!

Any recommendations for where to go after the match?
-
Its a day trip as I will be in Dublin the weekend before for a wedding so will be heading to Wembley from Heathrow.
So you will still need to get to central London and out again to Wembley as I am not sure Wembley is on any route from Heathrow.

Home if we don't win but of course you are thinking about where to celebrate.

Slight thread creep, apologies. My lad has to go back to his mother's in that London on the train on the 27th. Normally he goes from Wolves, but timings mean we'd spend most of the match in the car, hardly a brilliant outcome. I'm therefore considering taking him into brum earlier so we can watch somewhere on a big screen with fellow Villans, meaning we could squeeze in extra time and pens if it comes to that (which it won't)
Can anyone recommend somewhere that is likely to be showing the game near New St where I can take a 14yr old please?
Most grateful for any help

I reckon you'd be alright in the new Snobs, it's on Smallbrook Queensway just down from New Street station.

Thanks LeeB, greatly appreciated. I'll give them a ring and enquire.
Rodders Jr's first ever game at Villa Park was in the Upper Holte as an 8yr old, so he knows all the chants, loves swearing and banter etc

<can't seem to inc. the quote on my phone>
Hopefully! I'll be in London for the night by the look of things, wondered if there might be any recommendations

Yes i will get the tube to green park and then up to wembley. I have to pick my ticket up at the stadium so seems any bars on the west side will have Villa fans. Thanks all.
