Why do all these clueless idiots keep wading into this Leeds debacle.
I’ve had countless people saying to me ‘play to the whistle.’ These same people have seen 30 seconds of tv news coverage on the incident and no coverage of Hourihane putting the ball out so no context whatsoever. Quite apart from the fact that we kind of get the playing to the whistle, but It’s the sneaky bastard feign to put the ball out and not doing so that caused us to lose it.
Add to these people every no mark pundit having their say. Josh Warrington the unbiased boxer, Saunders, Fat Sam (he always hated us), Noel Whelan, Merson being ignorant about why we played a full strength team, Charlie fcukin Adam, Danny fcukin Murphy, and alll the rest of the shithouses. The thing I hate the most are the likes of Talkshite giving the impression that these opinions are gospel.
God I hate social media (this place excepted).
-
Well if you will listen to Talksport with its range of idiots either presenting or contributing, what do you expect?
My quality of life and blood pressure has improved remarkably since I stopped listening to Talkshite, blocking 3 people on Twitter and never watching Question Time.
-
I don’t even have a twitter account doesn’t stop me seeing crap about us and other stuff on there.
-
Central fucking news being one of the biggest culprits.
Monday’s sports news started with that lanky streak of piss declaring ‘here are all the crucial bits of the leeds game to explain the situation that happened’.
They then proceeded to show the Kodjia incident, the ‘goal’ the melee and our goal.
No fucking reference to where we put the ball out.
******.

Who gives a shit? Talking heads on sports shows have always talked crap and it'll always be the case

This is what's pissing me off aswell. Play to the whistle is fine, I'd prefer it if everyone did that, it's the deception that was involved which almost no-one in the media is commenting on.
And as for Bielsa suddenly being the paragon of fair play virtue, it's his "cheating is ok" attitude that runs right through how Leeds play and without doubt contributed to the incident. His begrudgingly "giving us the goal" in a game that was effectively a dead rubber doesn't change that one iota for me.
-
time to move on.
-
I agree that we should move on but I need to sound off 1st.
I have been getting so angry about this. It started with Dean Saunders who after pontificating about play to the whistle then said he didn’t know that Hourihane had put the ball out.
On Monday I was at a referees meeting, mostly Albion fans (inc an international 3rd official), 2 Wolves, I Liverpool and me the only Villa fan. To a man they said you should play to the whistle, Kodja wasn’t even down because he had been fouled (as if that made a difference) and Hourihane would get a 2 match ban. The chairman said it stopped Leeds getting automatic promotion and ensured our play off place. Most surprised when I put him right. None of them had watched the game.
I think that a lot of people are getting very worried about our prospects.
-
As long as me and my Aston Villa brothers stick together it's us against the world I love that when they turn on us it just makes want to whip there ass even more when we play there team.
-
Apparently ‘Big Sam’ said yesterday (which was also endorsed later by ‘Franksie’) that Leeds now have the moral high ground heading into the play offs.
-
I don’t see why people think that Bielsa did it grudgingly. Whilst Smith said in his post match interview that he had suggested it, he said that Bielsa agreed and he gave him credit for that.
I don’t think that Bielsa is particularly ‘dirty’. I think that there is just a South American cultural thing about the ‘dark arts’ as we would call them demonstrating cunning.

Has he been at the pints of wine again? I'm not taking any lessons on the moral high ground from that fat prick.

Last interview I saw with him, he seemed to view himself as a victim with regard to his exit from the England job. Talk about a warped sense of morality.
-
Allardyce is a ******, nothing more nothing less.
I saw the Sandwell members of my family straight after Sunday's game and they all backed us over Leeds with regards to any morality, much as they hate us.

Was that the one where his whole justification was "I was just meeting that guy as a favour to a mate" ? Haha no contrition about openly discussing how to circumvent rules.

The title of your post says it all.

There is very much a South American cultural thing in that respect. As shown over the years by the likes of Maradona and Suarez. They even have a word for it. 'Viveza', which basically means doing whatever is needed to gain an advantage.

Applauds
It is nothing else but that - if one of our players did what the likes of Bamford did then I would want him out

Is the thread title what Mark E Smith would have called the next Fall album?
Was listening to Matt Cooper (a Leeds fan)on TodayFm the other day and he started off describing the scene by saying that Kodjia "fouls himself" (! Presumably not meaning that he "did a Lineker") and that the whole thing about Villa putting tye ball out of play earlier was ridiculous as Villa were hemmed-in with nowhere to go anyway. He then gave his guest, "former Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino" the chance to comment, unfortunately "Cas" was his usual inarticulate, illogical self, who preferred to talk about how nuts Bielsa was when Cascarino played in France. I don't know how him and Merson get gigs as analysts, they're such boneheads.
-
I generally like Matt Cooper but, one day I got into the car and he was half way through an interview with someone, I don't know who but he was from the music world and they were discussing the merits of the music from some UK city or other it may have been Manchester I can't remember. For some reason or other the musical history of Birmingham briefly cropped up in the conversation to which Matt Cooper said 'have there ever been any good hands from Birmingham?' and they both started laughing. This got my back up so when I got home I emailed him providing him with a long list Birmingham's musical heritage asking him to put the record straight and added that I await his apology. I'm still waiting for both.

Great rant. I hadn't realised just how much anti-villa sentiment there was out there until the Leeds fiasco. We really do seem to ruffle a lot of feathers don't we? The best comments i heard were from ex- Leeds player Danny Mills. Unexpectedly fair i thought. But you know what. Fuck em all. We're Aston Villa.
-
It's because we are massive. Nobody would give a fuck if there was a controversial incident in a match involving some no marks like Southampton, Swansea or Small Heath.
Fuck the fuckers.
-
Bielsa sent his team out to kick fucking lumps out of Grealish, just like every other shithouse club has tried all season.
The sooner we climb out of this ewer, the better.

Yes, yes and thrice yes.

Indeed, the championship is one hell of a big jug to clamber out of. ;)

Ads is probably feeling a bit sheepish after that typo.
-
He ought to be lambasted.
-
In fairness, I'm not sure wether he considered the ramifications.
-
Probably feeling a bit penned in, with all the criticism.
His posts usually raise the baa though...

Fat Sam and "moral high ground" in the same sentence and it's not quite an oxymoron. Quite an achievement.
-
I heard the ginger twat on Talkshite last night state that there is a video circulating of when we played Stoke this season and they had a player down and we equalised without putting the ball out
All I heard him say was "Hypocrisy or what?
Clickbait tosser

What. We didn't feign to put the ball out then carry on playing, we just carried on. If Leeds had done the same there would be no argument but lets not let the facts get in the way of making a piss poor argument.
-
This is now going off the scale in it’s ridiculousness. People calling for a ban for Grealish for conning the official. Watched it twenty times soft yes, understand why it was given yes, cheating just fcuk right off.
-
Who has said what where?
-
All I’m hearing is noise from salty blue noses and fuckwit Leeds fans. They’ve been on Jacks back for “diving” for the last couple of seasons...just stop fouling him then you dopey bastards!
-
If the Albion players thought it was a dive at such a critical moment in a vital game they’d have been swarming all over the referee. The fact that they weren’t, and in particular that Gibbs didn’t argue, tells you all you need to know.
-
Gibbs was very luck not to get sent off for that trip on Jack. He was on a second yellow....
-
I'm amazed at ow many 'football fans actively dislike us. Trying to be objective about it, do they have real grounds for their opprobrium, or are they just irrational arsewipes?
-
Leon Rosenior is usually a voice of reason. He said it was a penalty, therefore, it WAS a penalty. On Gayle's yellow card, he said it was a bit harsh and I agree. However, I think it was also for the totting up of dickish things that Gayle did around the pitch. You cannot rescind a yellow card, Gayle was stupid to make the challenge as it was a high risk challenge and he was pissing the officials off with his antics.
It's about time we had a bit of hate coming our way after the several years of being a pushover and being lovely Villa, lovely to play against, lovely stadium, let's go and take the piss. They can all FUCK OFF. The best thing to do with haters is to hate them back. Villa showing mettle. Long may it continue.

Yes, this +100. Imagine what the reaction of the team would have been under Lambert et al when Leeds conned a goal. Tails between legs, shuffle back for the kick off.
Not now. This lot won't be bullied and seeing them go berserk at dirty fucking Leeds on their own patch was a thing of beauty.
-

We're the biggest thing at this level for years, we pull all the headlines, there is a lot of favouritism towards us from social media sites. Add to that after a few years of rotting decline were by we were pushovers and apathy had set in, we've steadily sorted ourselves out and done a 180. Players, staff and fans pulling in the same direction and it feels fucking great to be Villa again.
I think alot of other fans know that we have the potential once we're out of this division to not be coming back for a long time.
Anyway i'm enjoying being hated, fuck the fuckers!
-
Probably feels fleeced.

Hilarious lack of self awareness when they have Rodriguez in their side.
-
...and Gayle, of course!
-
People hear that Grealish was brought down and make there minds up before seeing any footage, daft ******.
