The Zebra Finance option for season ticket renewals has been removed.
Anyone know why & what the club's plans are for those wanting to renew using the finance option? >:(
-
Apparently ZF have pulled out of all football related activity, all current deals will be unaffected. That's what I have read anyway.
-
Hopefully the club will extend the renewal deadline for ST holders then until a replacement company can be found.
-
AVFC Official Statement:
Aston Villa can confirm that, along with a number of other high profile football clubs, the Club is temporarily unable to accept any applicants for credit on Early Bird Season Tickets.
The credit supplier, Zebra Finance, has had its funding ceased and the Club are currently exploring alternative credit solutions for season ticket purchases.
Supporters who have already taken up the finance option through Zebra are unaffected and fans can still continue to purchase early bird season tickets without a finance plan.
-
That explains why I was refused finance … they have no money!
I put my application in last night, must have been just before they went bump. Only problem I now have is that my season ticket is no longer there for renewal and I haven't bought it either! Looks like phoning them tomorrow.
-
I signed mine last week, so should be OK I guess. Hope the club find an alternative
-
Went to renew on Tuesday and recieved email from zebra, news about their withdrawal from football was a surprise so rang the club & after 45 mins in que got through was told to still sign & send back but they may say they will not supply credit.
Opened email to sign only to see message saying agreement had already been deleted, at Zebra. The club had said if that was the case they are looking for another finance provider & when I asked about early bird renewal by date he suggested it would be extended.
I was to let them know what occurred
-
So, what's the deal...
I had all the paperwork come through from Zebra saying the finance was ok, then another email a couple of days later saying it had been canceled... so where do I stand as it's saying on the avfc.co.uk that I have nothing to renew! Have i got them for free? ;-)
-
On the main website page now that the early bird has been extended by a week.
-
I did mine online on the 23rd, got an email from the Villa saying the order had gone through and all was sorted.
I didn't read the small print which said i'd get another email off Zebra which i'd need to sign. Needless to say i didn't get that and so my two renewals haven't in fact gone through at all.
Gonna be fucked if they don't get a new finance option on board ASAP as i haven't got the £££ to pay out in one go at the moment.
-
Been down again today & was told there will be another finance deal announced, so keep your eyes peeled
-
Apparently it's to do with Raphaels Bank which provided the finance for Zebra, it seems it's being wound down leaving Zebra unable to do the season tickets. Zebra do about 100k ST for fans of 80 clubs as well as rugby and so on.

Keep up!!

Glad I got in early...already had my first payment taken out. Hope it gets sorted for everyone else very soon.

Just spoke to the ticket office - according to the chap I spoke to, there is not going to be another extension to the early bird deadline after Friday (12th, 5pm), but neither is there likely to be any finance option sorted in the next 2 days before the window closes. Then season tickets will be off-sale until after the end of the season (as usual) by which time there might be a new finance option available, but they have no idea how much the season ticket price will rise by.
I appreciate it's a difficult situation for the club with ZF doing an O'Neill, but it's not a great situation for the fans either, is it? We're between a rock and a hard place. You either lash out a large amount now (if you can afford it - it's over a grand for me) to buy/renew at the guaranteed early bird price or else take your chances, wait until STs are back on sale again after the end of the season, and take on the chin whatever the price hike is going to be at that time. And right now, there's no guarantee that there will be alternative finance options available at that time or not.
-
Not that I've got a clue, just speculating, but when we go up, given the access to untold riches that that brings, could there be something put in place by the club itself?
It seems a right pisser that some folks who've stuck with it the last few years will suddenly miss out or get extra stung because of the untimely actions of a third party.
-
It does'nt surprise me the club have failed to sort out an alternative finance option at all, they made a statement last August that Seatwave was no longer a thing and an announcement would be made soon over an alternative........8 months and counting is classed as 'soon' still obviously to our powers that be.

The riches of the Premier League pale in to insignificance when compared to the wealth of our owners.
I'm sure someone worth $7.2bn can afford to lend £7.5m to the club, interest-free, for 12 months (the equivalent of 15,000 season tickets at £500 a throw).
-
Well, I just checked the website again and, fair play to the club, they have now sorted an alternative credit supplier - V12 Finance. I've just been through the process and successfully renewed my season tickets for next season. There are both the 4- and 9-month interest-free options originally offered by Zebra Finance (although the 9-month option attracts a £20 additional fee, so it's not entirely interest-free!) The only thing is there is no paper application option - not surprisingly I guess given the short time available to sort something out - so only applications online or by phone to the ticket office are supported. The deadline for the early bird window closure is still tomorrow but they've extended it until 8pm - I think I read that part correctly.
EDIT: Just seen that the early bird window closes at 3pm on Saturday 13th April.

Two things:-
1. Why does the avfc.co.uk site appear as 'pravda' (seems daft and a them and us type culture thing)
2. Secure frigging Trust, ffs/

Been to ticket office lunchtime today & was told finance could be announced by the club later today, as a former zebra customer I am interested in it so came away to return tomorrow.
Wonder if it will be zero percent as zebra or what the rate will be

See my comment further up. The credit arrangements are in place with V12. It is interest-free for both 4 and 9 months but the 9-month option incurs an additional £20 fee. It's up-and-running now (online at least) because I went through the process and renewed with the new credit provider a couple of hours ago. It was a seamless process.
-
Just renewed 5 season tickets on the 4 month interest free option. Application form very easy to negotiate & confirmation came almost immediately from Villa.
Very relieved.
-
What we could do with is an owner with some sort of experience in the world if credit card finance !!
-
nice of them to tell us...renewed in full today.
-
Rang the ticket office at 2pm today to see what the situation was, before I renewed via credit card, only to be told that they had literally just agreed the new deal with V12. Received all the emails to buy over 9 months, £10 admin charge per ticket, before I received the official notification from Villa.
-
Renewed Season ticket, well done AVFC, took a week or so, but got there in the end. UTV
-
Finance declined despite having a season ticket on finance for the last 5+ years, never missing a payment and being more financially secure than I’ve ever been. Fuming.
-
Did you apply for 4 or 9 months, villaboy?
They rejected me first time on 9 months, tried 4 months and also offered to pay a £50 deposit and I think it's been accepted, just need to send over a copy of my passport / bank statement
-
I did the exact same you did and got refused both times.
-
Unlucky mate.
I don't understand why the club can't front the money themselves, and if anyone misses a payment just stick their seat back on sale.
I don't understand why we've got a company who does proper credit checks aswell, it's a season ticket that can be revoked at any time.
Annoying for people who would / could have saved up if they'd have known no finance would be offered. I hope they take this into account when tickets come on sale again at the end of the season.
-
The club aren't a finance company.
I applied for the 4 month thing for two season tickets earlier this afternoon and got an email back saying it's under review and i should await further news
What happens if that comes after tomorrows 3pm deadline?

I get that the club aren’t a finance company but a bit of loyalty wouldn’t go amiss. If, for example, I had the summer to stump up the 500 then I could probably scrape it together. As it stands I’m left in limbo and potentially will be split up from my family when it comes to my seat next season.
-
Fair play to the club, i rang up to purchase a season ticket around lunch time yesterday ,to be told at that moment there was no finance available. However the guy i was talking to did say there was every chance that could change very soon and to watch the Villa website .Within a hour it had been announced there was finance now available .I was able to purchase a season ticket and it was all completed within a few minutes .Was free for the 4 month option and £10 for the 9 month option
-
Renewed and couldn't resist getting Max a season ticket for next year.
-
All applicants will be bombarded with shite regarding to credit etc. now they've used V12. Stupid decision.

You mean V12 want something in return for giving interest free credit? Who'd have thought!!
If you don't want to be "bombarded" with adverts I'm sure the Villa would've accepted your credit card or some cash.
-
ooh. Zebra didn't bombard anyone. I come back to the original point that us being in the age of a digital entry system, the wealthiest owners ever, why we are not self financing this.
V12 will cost the Villa custom. Sorry if you work for them or the ticket office, but it's the bald truth.
-
I would literally eat my hat if the club offering interest free credit through V12 stops someone buying a season ticket.
-
Well, the amount of people it's declined compared to zebra has already stopped a lot of people.
People who could have saved up in advance if they knew.
Instead, theyll be stuck with a higher season ticket price at the end of the season.
I doubt villa care though.
-
get scoffing adam.

Well it’s not Villa’s fault Zebra went bust, and I’m sure they do care that people have been turned down for credit. They want as many season ticket holders as possible.
