Title: February Fixtures - Predictions
Post by: AV82EC on January 26, 2019, 07:13:08 PM
So after what could only be described as a disappointing January with one win, two draws and a defeat it’s onto February with winnable and some difficult fixtures. Probably need to win at least 12 of our remaining 17 games to get play offs and all of them to go up automatically.

Reading A  W
Sheff U H  W
Brentford A  D
West Brom H  W (this may get moved if they progress in their Cup replay)
Stoke A  D

Yes I’m an optimist.

Can you tell me the name of your GP, so I can get some of those delightful meds you seem to be on?

Difficult to tell as we could well go into the Friday night game against Sheffield United with new players and Grealish back. Expect us to beat Reading, so reinforcements, quality, confidence...who knows.

We’ll take 13/15, Dean Smith wins manager of month and we sit 5th in the championship on 55 points with 36 points to play for and 7 points off 2nd

I really don’t care how and when we get the points to get at least top 6 but please factor in last 2 games if we are dipping for the line are away to Leeds and home to Norwich .
We would have to be in completely different form to now getting any points out of that 6

For any run of 5 games between now and the end of the season we need to be looking at 10 points. On one hand I want to agree with Footy and go wdwdw but i can't see us getting 3 away wins and just the draws at home. We really need to use the games at home to the sides above us (we've got loads of them coming up) to close the gap. On that basis I'll take 3 wins and a draw so long as we take points in both home games - WWLWD - Brentford are shit but I think with our record against them and the Smith factor we will see them really up for it and they'll derail us a bit just when we seem to be back on track.

I actually think we will win the three away games. Reading are poor, Brentford are bang average and Stoke have struggled to adjust after relegation. I think we could draw the two homes against Sheffield United and Albion. Eleven points out of fifteen.
