Excellent valliant victory, pushes us upwards, keeps it going, really hard game coming up vs Forest, this result will only do us the power of good.

Great win.

This result will absolutely kill them. Take the lead, hit the post, Jack scores, they make it 3-2, and still got dicked.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

And for 10 minutes they thought today was the day.

Hopefully that's the last time we've got to play them at Villa Park for a couple of centuries.

The performance was poor, the result was fantastic.
When Hutton runs 70 yards with the ball and then slots it in the net, I think you can say that it ain’t going to be your day,.

Great game.  Fully deserved the win, despite not being on it for the full 90.  We were patchy but they were very patchy.  Albert had a good game, like most of our forwards, but some of our defending was poor and we got punished.

As for them, they had a couple of decent spells but lack quality.  They'll do alright under Monk though.

Gardner's a horrible tool but that just adds to the occasions for me.  And makes the win sweeter.

I said on the match thread, despite its failings, I love this team.  They are always looking to get on the front foot and have goal threat from all across the park.  And we have Alan Hutton too.

You've got to say that Smith has made a massive impact.  Add a quality keeper and a defender or 2 and we will finish top 2 I'm sure of it.

As for Blues, they weren't too bad.  But still lost 4-2 against their raison d'être.  Nice one!

Feels like we got away with that a bit.

Chester had easily his worst game in his Villa career and the rest in defence were as dodgy as you know what.

What it does show at this level a functioning attacking unit and you can get away with a lot. That's why we didn't have for so long under SB.

Hutton. No words.

Now the important bit...if anyone can find that clip of SHA fans who "celebrated" when Adams hit the post I'll be a very happy man!

That’s one of the weirdest games I’ve ever seen.
We were crap , very good and lucky all rolled into one.
The Jack and Hutton goals nearly put my back out.
You can see we are on a journey back to the very very top of football.  It nice to look forward to every game.

Highlights
Them thinking they would win at 0 1.
Them hitting the post and 5hinking they had scored.
Jacks diving header.
A generous penalty.
And the cherry on the icing, Hutton’s run and goal.

Glad for Kodjia that he got a goal...his confidence visibly lifted.
Other than Chester, we weren't too bad and the forward players were great once we got the ball to them.

I do feel sorry for Craig Gardner though...

Not...He's an unwashed, unibrowed, no-class, cheapshot twunt.

I have little doubt that they'll still claim a moral victory, say we're jammy, say they didn't see a single Villa fan in town, repeatedly say they don't care as they're shit but always blues, it's the ref's fault, mock us for enjoying a derby win, all they needed was a bit of luck, Villa fans are fannies even though they didn't see any, they are all true Brummies while they have usernames like RedditchBlues.

And all the time we'll know a little bit of them died today.

Barmy game.
Chester looked yampy at times, a few others had dodgy spells in the match......
Great passion from the players, raised their game once they saw the rags were up for it at the start.
As for Brum.......better than usual, close but no cigar.
Thing is Monk is trying to polish a turd.

Positive for me is a few vile are gonna get a beating tonight, obviously not from me but those ginger Sutton lads are gonna be mouthy at the wrong person and will get there heads smashed in.

3 points are all that matter.

Hopefully McGinn will be back for Forest, we really missed him today. I can forgive the team for not playing to their potential as it was a derby and the Rags are at best a very physical side and with donkeys like Gardner in there kicking every Villa player that moved, it wasn't ever going to be free flowing football. I still worry about our strikers and with Albert probably missing for a few games, we'll need to look at mixing it up. He and Hutton linked up superbly down the right today. He'll be missed.

Overall, to not play that well and still score 4 is some doing and shows the talent we have. I just hope we don't have too many players black and blue after today. Onwards and upwards.

In large chunks we played well, created a few chances, done well down the wings. Few things still worry me, the keeper, Taylor's inability to close down his man, Whelan too slow on the ball. What doesn't worry me is the fact that Smith will sort all of these things out sooner rather than later.

As a game for the neutral football fan to watch that was probably the best game against them I can recall. For anyone planning to celebrate our win with a few drinks tonight may I suggest 'The Garry Monk Drinking Game'.

1 Buy lots of alcohol
2 Find Garry Monk's full time interview on SKY
3 Take a swig of your chosen drink every time Garry says "learning curve"

I'm glad that sad old bloke enjoyed his trip to Villa Park for his visit to film himself in the club shop the other day. At least he has enjoyed one day at Villa park this week.

We shouldn't even acknowledge their bitterness as it should be more or less just another game to us.  But it's hard to ignore the sheer level of vindictiveness and bile emanating from South Birmingham every time there is a derby on, and not feel a tremendous amount of schadenfreude.

In any case, Smith is a breath of fresh air and I'm feeling some man-love for the fella at the moment.   Better performance and results, scoring goals, way more entertainment and all this despite a somewhat ropey defence.  It should improve when the  window reopens.  A shame we didn't get him in at the start of the season.

Are they claiming moral victory for scoring twice at Vile Park?

Today it will be a moral victory. In months to come they will have rewritten their history wall scrawlings to an actual victory that they will wax lyrical over to their 6 fingered offspring for generations to come.

A DVD of the game will be on the shelves for Christmas.

And just in time for inclusion in their official club 2019 diary.

Right next to that time they beat Bayern in the European Cup in '82. Oh those were the days kids when the Blues, the only team in this city ruled Europe...

Good game for the neutral. We didn't turn up for the first half hour and if they'd gone 2-0 up instead of hitting the post we'd have had an uphill struggle, but with our striking options and Deano's tactics we'd still have got a result. Missed McGinn hugely, Whelan is too negative for my liking, and we were pretty poor defensively with numerous sloppy errors by Chester of all people. But they did hit the post and we punished them clinically. Monk's complaining about the penalty but fuck him. And the noise in the Holte when Hutton calmly slotted the ball home after waltzing through their entire team was absolutely phenomenal. If Carlsberg made derby results.....

To put 4 past them is a great feeling. Again, Deano spots the tactical mistakes of the first half and that sets us up nicely. Hutton what a run - I notice agent Gardner didn't do anything except put his arm out to stop him.

Crazy, what the fuck have I watched?

Defensively awful, Chester was attrocious.

Other thsn our 4 goals we barely had a shot.

Should've been 0-2 down, 3 minutes later we're 2-1 up.

Grealish and Hutton scoring, the latter running from the Halfway line.

No real stand out performers.

Absolute crazy game.

Fucking brilliant stuff.

We win the game, they win the 'scored at Villa Park' moral victory.

For a neutral, entertainment wise that's as good as it gets for derbies. Blues on top up to the time Adams hit the post, but once we scored there was a big improvement in our play, in the 2nd half were the better team and looked fitter and stronger, apart from a few defensive lapses.
i
I was criticising Albert before the match, but today was his best performance of the season, hopefully he's not too badly injured. Well taken goal Kodj, great header Jack, I admired your brilliant precision with the pen Tammy and as for the Scottish Cafu, I shall remember that goal forever.

Up the Villa

Not defending the back four because you're right but imagine giving the ball to McGinn the past few weeks to take forward and the drop off to Whelan who sits too and is a liability when on the ball or with his distribution. This back four needs more protection and it ain't Whelan.

I think what we're seeing is our back four (centre halves in particular) trying to play out in the new way they're being coached to.  They struggle with it at times, and especially when being pressed high, which is something the Blues did well in spells - teams will do that more often no doubt.  The good thing we get in return is more space behind with our very good (in this league) forward players.

To be fair, Chester looked like he was playing with an injury to me.  And yes, McGinn makes a huge difference in there.

Listened to Dean Smith’s interview on the way home and think he summed it up perfectly really.  He said we moved the ball too slowly in the opening stages and they were able to exert a bit of pressure as a result.  We also kept giving the ball away and committing silly fouls in areas that allowed them to get the ball into the box.  We then had a spell though where we did move the ball quickly and cut them open twice to go 2-1 up.

I really thought we would run away with it when we went 3-1 up, but we kept giving the ball away in bad areas and let them back into it.  And then it happened - if you ever wanted a goal for us in that situation to effectively seal the game, it would be that goal and it would be Alan Hutton who scored it.

In his interview with WM, Dean Smith said that the idea was for Whelan to drop in and make a back three at time to protect against their two up top.  I just thought that with both Whelan and Hourihane in midfield, it was too slow at times.  I thought Lansbury looked quite sharp when he came on and made some decent forward runs, so it was a sham3 to see him go off so early.

Felt we could play a lot better.

Too slow in moving the ball which allowed them opportunities to catch us in possession. We were incredibly deep too for the first half an hour and then responded when they hit the post.

It was a foul throw anyway, but 2-0 would have been tough to come back from.

But we're a threat when we attack and rattled in 4 and probably should have had more.

2nd half there was a lot more control.

Hutton's goal was superb and the atmosphere excellent.

Pleasing win. Pleasing indeed.

I knew, and I'm so glad Dean Smith would see it exactly as I did.

At times we were woeful at the back, they hit the post at 1-0 and the game changed. We looked every bit a Steve Bruce side at times, plodding, messing around at the back.

When that ball hit the post, they got a verbal kick up the arse from the fans and it started to change.

I thought Bert did so well, especially for the first two goals, just hope he's going to be OK. The Scottish Cafu? The Scottish Maradona more like. Haven't celebrated a goal like that for some time!!

Today was about sending the vermin scuttling back to where they belong. It was about hugging strangers with a force you can't describe.

McGinn to start on Wednesday. Worrying amount of injuries building up. Why wasn't Bolasie wearing his kit in the dug out? When Albert got injured, he was hastily putting his shirt and socks on..... there was no wam-up which risks hamstrings and other soft muscle injuries. Did Lansbury warm-up properly I wonder? Soon off with a hamstring injury....

We looked as bad defensively today as any time this season under Bruce. Their big lump up front bullied our defence all afternoon. Thankfully very different at the other end of the pitch where finally Adamoah and Kodjia's came into form. Abraham was vastly improved today.

I don't think we have any real chance of promotion until we make changes at centre back, left back, holding midfielder/deep lying playmaker and keeper. Whelan and Hourihane lack the quick feet to play the football Smith wants. Hourihane offers no presence at all defensively, watch him again for their second, so lazy.

Great result but performances won't improve significantly until we change some of the individuals in the team.

It was about my boys first derby game, and he loved it! Onwards and upwards. UTV

I am delighted for your lad. My first derby game was a 2-1 win at the sty in 1980 and we ended the season as champions. Hopefully your lad will see us become champions this season.

Great result even if we didn't play that well.  Really pleased for Kodjia, Grealish and Hutton for their goals and another one for Tammy.  I thought Nyland played well and has started to come for the ball at last. A win is a win but we have to lift ourselves again against Forest.

Great result, after a very lacklustre opening twenty minutes, which reminded me of Bruceball. Hitting the post seemed to wake us up thank God because the way we were playing at that stage, I felt that at 2-0 we may not get back into the game.
Highlights, great atmosphere, Alberts best game this season, a rare Jack headed goal and The Scottish Cafu scores a Derby goal that will rank alongside Cahill's .
Thoroughly enjoyable day!

Very poor until Adams hit the post and that seemed to jolt everyone into gear. Chester was very poor, but not sure he was fit. Whelan was dropping too deep for me although its seems that was part of the plan. I thought we looked better with Hourihane in the deeper role. Missed SJM energy. Actually thought Lansbury started well and was a shame he got his hamstring when he was fouled. He had warmed up for some time before he came on by the way, someone was asking. When we scored early in the second half I had visions of a proper beating but sloppy play for their second goal. I suppose we have to accept that errors will be made while the players get used to these new tactics. Hope Albert is not too badly injured and am excited to see Bolasie unleashed as well. Great to hear the manager after the game stating it as it was. Quite interesting to hear him say we had 5 or 6 players in the area for the first two goals. Under Bruce, it would be an offence if we had 5 or 6 in the opposition half. Also he said that SJM wanted to play but they thought it best he didn't. Again something the previous manager would not have done.

No, we can play out from the back, that’s fine.
But, when you are aimlessly passing across the back line and not going forward you risk getting caught out.
And we did...a few times.

It was annoying Deano as well from his post match comments.

However Monks is more telling. All he can say is his team weren't tough in the last three matches. TBH their only hope is to get a load of points on the board now because their players are going to blow up at some point as they are mostly having to chase the ball most matches. We have seen ourselves what happens when you try to play fast attacks and give possession to the opposition in the majority of your matches.

Just been told the result.  I got my grandchildren to bury me in the sand dunes behind Sizewell nuclear power station.for the afternoon.  The radiation blocks radio and telephone signals.

Alan Hutton reminds me, in toto, of Stan Lynn.  A very flawed, slow, technically inept right back whom the fans adored.

I thought Whelan was an absolute liability today.  Slow and ponderous on the ball, and involved in a negative sense for both of their goals.  For their first, he lost his player who he was supposed to mark at the set piece, who then scored, and for their second, he dithered on the ball, had to do a silly step over, then gave Kodjia (I think) a really poor pass that lost possession and led straight to their goal.  He's not quick enough in mind or body to play Dean Smith's game.

Just back after a great day. My daughter's first derby and she was buzzing. I thought Whelan had one of his better games and Adamoah was back to last season's form. For me I thought Tuanzebe was brilliant and his poise with the ball at the back was a joy to behold. How Bruce couldn't see he was the answer at CB beggars belief!

Finally I was delighted Jack got his derby goal he has craved for. I just love watching him play and all those criticising him for hitting the deck to easily won't half miss him if he left.

Now the dust has settled a few points from today

The foul on Grealish within seconds why no yellow

We got lucky when they hit the post and for their first it was poor marking don’t try to detract

Adomah was poor today but the foul on him merited a red and would have been in the prem. saying that Grealish’s lunge second half was no better

Their second goal why. Slack all round

Hutton worldie up their with Gary Thompsons

Why did villa give them what looked to be a full allocation and try to disguise the same in the official attendance figure. But how quiet were they

McGinn is needed. He is our Gareth Barry from years gone by

Loads of Villa and ex-Villa on Twitter toasting the Scottish Cafu.

Even when we're off colour we still have far too much for fodder like the Noses.

Whelan was so deep at times dropping into the centre half slot, but Smith said these were his instructions. Felt that it really affected the midfield ability to dominate and it didn't change too much till after the half hour mark.

We missed McGinn but as Deano said, it's hard to press a side that only has 24% of the ball.

Anyway, McGinn back for Forest and Bolasie for Adomah. That isn't a bad use of the squad.

Disagree with a previous poster about Whelan, I thought he was a liability with the ball always passing square or backwards. New keeper needed badly I've wanted this guy to prove us wrong but for his size he's a bit of a mouse. Love the way Smith sets us up we just need a decent centre back someone of a decent size we look dodgy against tall forwards.

I always wonder what on loan players actually do for games like this (more so when it's actually local rivals involved). Personally I'd have wanted to watch the match at home in Gary's situation but guess Monk wanted the players not involved to travel and give support in the dressing room as Jota was also with the subs on the bench.

Difficult one for Gary and he was missed by them today as he's much better than his brother nowadays.

We always sit too deep with Whelan.

The problem with Whelan is that he looks off the pace and gave the ball away too often.

The Hutton goal was one of those mouth open 'What Did I Just See?' moments. Bloody wonderful.
A run like that poses a real dilemma for opposition. They think he is going to pass any second and back off to cover runners and than can not change course as he sweeps past them.  Having ran 75 yards and still have the composure to slot it in the perfect place with the  precision of world class player was amazing.

By the way, great of the less ugly Gardner brother to sit himself in the Blues dugout. I hope the fans near there gave him what for.
I put him In there as a few of our over excited "fans" we giving him a lot of stick when he sat in the stands. If their fans acted like that we would be furious.
It's his brother who is the nose not him.

No, we can play out from the back, that’s fine.
But, when you are aimlessly passing across the back line and not going forward you risk getting caught out.
And we did...a few times.
Yes agreed. Whilst the intent is good execution is terrible. When our back players receive the ball from Nyland they are not moving it forward quickly enough. Only Tuanzebe is comfortable with the ball on his feet. A lot of work and maybe change to personnel is required to make it work better.

So a neat controlled composed finished by Kodjia.

A header by the hungry Grealish,

A penalty kick dispatched by Tammy Abrahams

And then : amazing solo by Hutts leading to an all piled on top of one another celebratory scrum in the holte for that beautiful goal .

It was all deserving for the attitude (if not overall performance) of the villa today .

We , Villa , the better team won. And that we scored 4 times we can all be entitled to feel there was some style in the victory .

Fittingly, this match delivered some twists and turns, and individual superlatives for Our Grealish and Our Hutton.

4-2 is a wonderful result that seemed blessed for the villa after they 'only' struck the post.
We never looked back.

And with Head coach Dean Smith I don't think we ever will as we just keep moving forward.

Thank you Dean Smith .

Up the Villa.

Yes the key to it all of is speed. The benefits should outweigh the risk, but the frequency and impact of making a mistake does make us vulnerable at present.

The tag team fouling on Grealish did have an effect for the first half an hour and he must've been fouled about 10 times in total. Kieftenbeld's foul in the first minute would've been a yellow if it had occurred after about 15 mins. We overtook Norwich as the most fouled team in the division.

Great derby game and a great comeback after an insipid 30 minutes. I would still prefer ElMo ar Rb and Hutton at Lb.

They really must hate playing us.
They looked the better team for 30mins, then the near shock of going 2 down jolted us into action.
The penalty was a stupid one to concede, and they just let Cafu run through them.
We won both halves 2-1.
They are even getting trolled by Bet365 on Twitter now.

I understand this argument, and it has some merit, but I would make the point that most of our attacking threat originated from Hutton and Albert linking up.

Judging from Dean Smith's post match comments, he rates Hutton even more than SB, who said the player picks himself and that he would be a Villa player this season if he had anything to do with it.

I totally agree with the foul in early seconds against Jack, was so obvious and the ref needed to show some authority. Dont agree with Albert, I don't think any player stood out tbh but he made the first two goals.

Express and Star (https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/aston-villa/2018/11/25/aston-villa-hero-jack-grealish-dedicates-second-city-derby-goal-to-late-brother/)

Aston Villa hero Jack Grealish dedicates Second City derby goal to late brother

An emotional Jack Grealish admitted he had been unable to hold back the tears after dedicating his Second City Derby goal to his late brother.

By Matt Maher | Aston Villa | Published: 1 hour ago

The lifelong Villa fan netted his first career goal against Blues to help Dean Smith’s men record a 4-2 victory over their rivals in a pulsating encounter.

Grealish revealed he had tears in his eyes when he headed home Albert Adomah’s 39th-minute cross, later dedicating the strike to his brother Keelan, who passed away when the Villa star was just four years old.

He said: “It’s a moment I dreamed of as a fan. To score, I got emotional because of my little brother who passed away. I dedicated the goal to him.

“I had tears in my eyes. I was crying because I have all my family here. I have 20 people in the box and ten more tickets, about 30 people here. Since I have been a kid I have always wanted to play against Blues.”

Grealish now hopes to succeed Gabriel Agbonlahor, who scored in five games against Blues, as Villa’s hometown derby hero.

He continued: “I have always watched the derbies. You have the games against Wolves and West Brom but I don’t think any of them are as big as this one.

“I remember playing on a Sunday, in the morning, then rushing back for the match. Gabby would score. That’s why he is my all-time hero. He scored in so many derbies, didn’t he? Often late on. I would love to do what he has done. To contribute with a goal today was unbelievable for me.”

Grealish’s goal put Villa 2-1 ahead and came just two minutes after Jonathan Kodjia had cancelled out Lukas Jutkiewicz’s opener for the visitors.

Tammy Abraham increased Villa’s advantage from the penalty spot early in the second half and though a Kristian Pedersen goal gave Blues hope, Alan Hutton extinguished it with a superb solo effort, which saw the Scot run 50 yards from his own half before slotting past Lee Camp.

Grealish said: “It was unbelievable, wasn’t it? I was next to him. I think he ran past Craig Gardner and I thought Craig was going to give him a kick. He just carried on! It was a great goal and I know how much it means to Hutts. He is a great player and has been a great servant to this club. I am over the moon for him.”

Whelan played well as a covering MF, albeit he did pass into danger a couple of times.
Nyland is getting better ... I can't really fault him for the 2 yesterday, since on the first he was blocked out by the #9 and the second Hourihane was not covering back.
We definitely need another CB!

Well said. I saw it all. The Villa fans in question probably did over react but it was the obnoxious Blue nose that was the instigator. The stewards were pretty poor too. One guy told the steward that the blues fan was being abusive to people and his reaction was to tell the villa fan to sit down or risk being ejected from the ground. That was the cue for people to erupt. Not good all round.

I thought Nyland played well yesterday. I certainly didn’t feel as though he was in anyway a liability, he couldn’t do anything about either goal and generally his kicking and distribution was excellent. I thought our poorest players were Chester and Hourihane, Chester hasn’t been quite right all season and Hourihanes passing, set pieces aside, was off all
game. I thought Kodjia was alright as well, not brilliant but certainly worth persevering with.

But fuck it, we beat them 4-2 so who cares. I’m one of Hutton’s biggest critics I just don’t think he’s that good but fuck me I’m still smiling about that goal yesterday.

From my seat on the back row of the Trinity Middle - right in front of the boxes - it was the celebrating of the Noses, the Villa fans telling them to sit down/shut up and then the overt abusive comments and gestures of the Noses...."our" steward, the only one nearby, made his way over but by then it was getting nasty and out of control...and as Edge says, it was overreaction by everyone. But it is something of an issue there...Sheff Wed fans did the same recently and caused trouble as have Arse and ManU fans over the years. They buy a ticket in the boxes, completely ignore the terms and conditions and think they can do wtf they like because they have paid for a box. Yesterday was the worst I've seen in the last 10 years and it only calmed down when the Noses went indoors.

And then the football took over......

I thought it would be a long time before I saw a better goal than McGinns, but that goal today, for how it was scored, who scored it & who it was against was a moment of absolute joy.
it was lovely to watch, but it was terrible defending. He is slow as fk and they just stood off him, while he jogged past 3 or 4 of their players, one of them should have dived in,as it was obvious where he was heading. The finish was absolute quality, cool and calm, picked his spot to perfection.

Hutton is not slow. I believe he’s still one of our fastest players. They should’ve have took him out. Great celebrations all round the ground

just watched it a couple of times again and I concede your point, he wasn’t slow. He got shoved at one point that put him off his stride. Brilliant finish.

I think it's telling that our most memorable goal in the derby could be a choice between an overhead kick, a 25 yard dipping volley and a 70 yard run from a fullback, whereas theirs is a throw in that rolled under our goalkeepers foot.

My nose mates were telling me beforehand that they were playing the best football they'd seen in a generation, now I know thats firmly in tallest dwarf territory but they didnt try and play any, just whacked it forward to the big bloke. They were very similar to most other sides in the division, well drilled and competitive but unable to cope when/if we step it up a gear.

Of all the great play going forward I was probably most impressed with Hourihane, he was very calm in possession when we most needed it.

Agree with a lot of that.  I too thought Lansbury made a decent start when he came on and made a good forward run down the right.  Shame he got injured as he has been waiting a while for a chance.

In one of the twitter Cafu/ Maradona comparisons, a boggie is complaining we are using an Argentinian scoring against England in comparison and that is bad.....

Maybe he would have preferred us to remind him of Jeff Astle's missed sitter against Brazil in the 1970 World Cup.

Unless you want to hear a very long winded rant don't ever mention Jeff Astle's 1970 World Cup miss in earshot of my dad. Probably best to avoid any mention of Gracie Fields and Ant & Dec too. Oh, and he wasn't very keen to talk to me about yesterday's game either when I spoke to him earlier. ;)

Absolutely this

I was thinking of posting a list like that to sum up how long it had been since they beat us in the league but then decided to simply point out that my youngest daughter, who is now in her second year of Comprehensive school was not born the last time they took three points of us.

I think our concerns about how Nyland would cope in the derby proved unfounded.

Craig Gardner has a very punchable face.

Why are they all so obsessed about how many of us do or do not drink in town and what about those of us who try to avoid pubs and drinking in general?

Unfortunately I don't know how to post clever linky things but if you want to see a movie clip and accompanying piece of music that really sums up Alan Hutton's run and goal just go onto YouTube and type in 'Flash Gordon Movie Clip Football Fight'. I wish I could put the music track and the goal together on here. Maybe somebody else can.

I have to be honest and admit that it was difficult to express much genuine joy as our 4 goals went in yesterday as all I could think about was the fact that we do not carry the name of the city and also, due to me having to drive yesterday, I was unable to make it into town for a drink. It felt like a hollow victory to be honest.

Was that before or after they arrived in their buses. I had the misfortune of having to walk through their away end once it was almost full and just smiled to myself in disbelief when they referred  to villa fans as scum and genuinely commented on what  fucking shithole Vila park is.

It then dawned on me they probably have not been to the temple of doom to compare.

4-2 on your big day out just epitomizes what It means to them.
I enjoyed It for a change but now I am looking forward to Deano locking horns with a decent team and manager.

he went over & seemingly gave Albert. Kick or scrape his studs on him, I thought he was at it all match even when they got the first he was running with his hand cupped on his ear saying cant hear the Holte now!
The other notable thing was Tammy Abraham went over to the lad who was being escorted out after running on the pitch after final whistle & gave him a big hug,
I know you shouldn’t go on the pitch but Tammy’s action was kind also
he generally gets it here & what we are about, hope we can sign him if we go up

Booked work off today ......and I don’t even live in Brum anymore.

However, as much as it hurts now (and to be honest for a while), I know we will get our revenge and it will be sweet. Them rubbing our noses in it was a huge mistake. You reap what you sow. I don’t care if it’s a 4am kickoff on a Thursday morning; St Andrews will be a nightmare for them when they come in March. A full on nightmare. Funniest thing about yesterday was when Whelan nicked the ball as Gardiner was about to kick it back to the keeper.

There was a nose at work today who was still fuming about it. We're cheating bastards apparently.

It's "ante", you barely literate Knuckledragger.
All he  knows is that his mum is also his "Anti" so please forgive him.

Apparently their away end was full of "corporates" yesterday according to a poster on SHA.
Well whatever it was it certainly wasn't full.

Joining Small Heath is most definitely a ‘no win situation.’ As is supporting them.
Their team turning up at Villa Park is also a "no win situation"

Twitter has been fucking brilliant this last 24 hours.

Shouldn't laugh, but here's Lee Hendrie responding to a bit of stick from the Sky box.

Does anyone trust Gardner to do the right thing? I fully expected him to shoot, or leather it into the Holte.

Remember mum buying my season ticket when we were kids didn't have a lot of money with rasing six children, Some times wanted to pack it in during the last seven years, but thinking of her I then think she wouldn't let me.Seeing the younger fans celebrating the goals brought back good memories when I was young and know why I still go, thanks mum

Here's a nice (and I think quite amazing) story.

My mom, bless her, passed away on Friday.  That night, my sister had a dream, that we won 4-2.  So my sister and my niece each put a £1 bet on the result, at 70-1.

Mom and Dad both looking down on us.

Sorry for your loss...and happy for your win!

Both of these.

Same here.

And here.

The thoughts of Mr K Dragger from SHA
Quote
Booked work off today ......and I don’t even live in Brum anymore.

However, as much as it hurts now (and to be honest for a while), I know we will get our revenge and it will be sweet. Them rubbing our noses in it was a huge mistake. You reap what you sow. I don’t care if it’s a 4am kickoff on a Thursday morning; St Andrews will be a nightmare for them when they come in March. A full on nightmare. I didn’t think there was any room to hate them more but I was wrong.

The filth have set us up for one of those ‘days to remember’ in March. It would have been vociferous without them carrying on, but now the anti has been upped. Thank you filth, see you in March.

SOTv

Bless ;D

Hilarious, those knuckledragging goons cant even sell out at home to us anymore. We're truly blessed to have them we really are.

Aren’t they the same thing ? I certainly wouldn’t have trusted him to pass it back to Nyland so saw the sense in what Whelan did.

Very good.
