With that defence and chester out i can only see a millwall win. Think the players will be a bit flat too after this week. Maybe they will anounce someone amazing taking over before the match and we'll see a reaction from the players but as it stands 2-0

Seems like Jedinak is struggling for tomorrow, so there is no other option than Bree at CB I guess.  The goalkeeper situation could be a real issue now, as Nyland's confidence could be low after being dropped and Bunn proved again on Tuesday night that he isn't really up to it.  With that in mind, team to look something like:

                                        Bunn / Nyland

Elmohamady           Tuanzebe                  Bree              Hutton

                                              Whelan

                         Grealish                           McGinn

Bolasie                                  Abraham                         Kodjia

I've put Whelan in for an extra bit of experience, but the back four and keeper look weak.

Agreed with this, Milwall are and old school '4-4-2 bombard the CB's with crosses' type team and realistically we're really going to struggle.

No manager. No captain. Likely one fit CB. Team seem down and it's Milwall away. I think this would be one of the most surprising wins in the last few years if we pull this off.

Fuck the fuckers let's 'av 'em!

I'd agree with most of it but I think I'd go for Taylor (despite him being poor) ahead of Hutton because that defence is the same on that Preston shat all over a couple of days ago. Having a 'proper' left back might help a little with the organisation. I'd also start Whelan ahead of Thor because I'd want a 'wise head' sat just in front of the 2 kids in the middle of the defence helping organise them and Barny doesn't offer that.

We'll lose this. Millwall haven't won for ages but seeing highlights of them v Forest and they were getting plenty of crosses into the box which we badly struggled with the other night. Also work very hard and will close us down lots in midfield.

2-1 them.

3-1 Villa. The beginning of a run the likes of which you only ever here of from a Lebanese u13 side.

Bree (2), and a McGinn penalty to make up for the og he nodded in inside the opening five minutes.

New manager spotted in the stands. Even the home supporters are happy for us.

I've honestly no idea how we're going to line-up in this one. As daft as it sounds, without 2 available centre-backs I'd be tempted to switch to a back 3. Hutton, Bree & Tuanzebe as a back 3, with Elmo and Taylor (or possibly BB) as wing-backs. Jack, Whelan and McGinn as the midfield 3, and Kodjia and Abraham up-front. Done!

Millwall one of worst teams in league and are down the bottom like Preston . Inept at defending
Our players are better but they have the cohesive team.
1-3 villa though

Villa scored every match so that not stopping just getting a grip of midfield and take a victory.

Quote
'No, not for this one' Kevin MacDonald reveals his Aston Villa selection worries

MacDonald is in temporary charge of AVFC at Millwall this weekend

Kevin MacDonald’s head is spinning as he takes temporary charge of Aston Villa for a third time.

The caretaker boss will name his starting XI on Saturday morning after what promises to be another sleepless night of deliberating over his line-up ahead of the clash at Millwall.

MacDonald has promised only minor changes, insisting that the team who has failed to find lift-off this term, simply needs fine-tuning before it explodes into life.

After taking charge of his first training session on Friday morning, MacDonald said: “I picked about 10 different teams last night and it will probably be another 10 teams before I tell them in the morning!”

His first major dilemma is who to start at centre-back.

James Chester is suspended and Mile Jedinak misses out with a hamstring injury so the expected defensive partnership will see James Bree fill in alongside Axel Tuanzebe.

Alan Hutton will be named the captain in Chester’s absence and it’s unlikely there will be many further changes.

MacDonald certainly won’t be calling on any of his youngsters in the high-pressure environment at The New Den.

When asked if he had considered calling up the kids, he replied: “No, not for this one.

“It’s a time for experience, if I’m being honest, so it will be the same.

“If they play to the best of their ability, they can be then they will be one of the best sides in the division.”

The delicate goalkeeper situation could provide his sternest test as caretaker boss.

Error-prone Orjan Nyland was dropped for the 3-3 draw in midweek as sacked boss Steve Bruce decided to take him out of the firing line.

Replacement Mark Bunn failed to make an impact, though, and was partly to blame for two of the three goals conceded.

Youngster Andre Moreira is still seen as relatively raw having only played in the cup competitions, but could come into consideration.

“I will look at one or two of the clips,” MacDonald said when asked about the goalkeepers.

“But there are one or two other decisions I have to make as well.

“It’s three games in a week and I need to see how, physically, some of them are.“I’ll speak to some of the others, Mark Delaney and Brian Eastwick and get their thoughts.

“But I’ll make the final decision.

“They have asked me to take charge.

“I am the one who is going to have to make the decision.”

I wonder if McDonald has been hard done by a bit. The last two times he came in, MON had just left so we were in a bit of limbo and we were a shambolic mess during that relegation season anyway. He came across well enough in the transcript of the press conference that Mat Kendrick has posted up. He's only in charge for one game anyway so i'm not fussed about him being in really.

Nor this one. A predictably moribund display - from a man who clearly can't be doing with this caretaker lark again. It looked like he could've done with letting his breakfast go down before taking the stage too. I was expecting him to pick his teeth at any moment.

It's already raining in Bermondsey. And it's cold.
Wrap up well people.

Can we sack KMac after we lose today, he epitomises a lot of what is wrong at the club, absolutely no enthusiasm at all, he is dreadful!

Will Micah be resurrected for this? Bree and Axel are abysmal in the air and without Jedinak we will have no protection at all against direct football from Millwall. Might aswell try Hutton. Midfield from Tues night needs to be gutted.

-------------Nyland
Elmo, Axel, Hutton, Taylor
-------Whelan, Lansbury
Albert, Grealish, Bolasie
-----------Abraham

I have to assume with Richards they have tried to reintegrate him. You see pictures on occasions of him training. How much of a cock must he be not to want to even play again. Because as much of a wanker as we all know him to be he should have been an option for us to call upon now if he is fit. Because if he cannot play at all he should have been released.

He played in that charity game the other week, didn't he? I know it's not a 'real' game but I'd have thought if he wasn't fit to play he wouldn't even have been allowed to do that. I'd love to know what has really gone on there.

One up front, 4 forwards on the bench.
