                            Whelan

Bjorn                    McGinn           El Ghazi

                             Jack

                            Kodjia

No excuses here, it's got to be a comfortable win, against a side that will be in the relegation fight.

I’m currently living in Reading...it’s a shithole and I got 3 bus lane violations in a week so they can fuck right off. At least 3-0 Villa please.

If we come out the blocks like we did v Bees, this could be the game we go in at half time 4-0 up.

I keep reading Abrahams and Boloasie coming, yeah great but what cover do we have at centre half!

I think we will see;

Nyland

Hutton
Chester
Jedinak
Tuanzebe

BB

El Ghazi
McGinn
Grealish
Albert

Kodjia

Our work off the ball has to be maintained and I would rest Whelan, who was excellent, to get fresher legs into midfield.

El Ghazi will hopefully add pace and dynamism, but fingers crossed, better delivery.

Important game to win.

Nyland

Hutton
Chester
Jedinak
Tuanzebe

Whelan

El Ghazi
McGinn
Grealish
Albert

Kodjia

Not sure how bringing in the worst left back in living memory achieves that though.

I'm agreed with everyone else that this should be a comfortable win.

Would be especially nice to see us keep a clean sheet but I fancy us to win 3-1.

If Hutton is out, then so would I.

We'll make hard work of it as normal but we'll eventually run out 3-1 winners after going a goal behind.

I don't think it'll be anywhere near as comfortable as some.

1-0, maybe 2-0 at a push.

That'll do me

I'd freshen it up a bit as we expended a lot of energy on weds. Reminded me of the wolves game last season. Whelan, adomah and mcginn looked tired

Can't see el ghazi or green starting

So:

Nyland

Tuanzebe Chester Jedinak Taylor

Bjarnason

Elmo hourihane grealish adomah

Kodjia

Be good to go after Reading from the start and not ease up.  W in here will set things up nicelty for the international break.  Our fixtures up until December are pretty good to be fair but these are the sort of games we need to win.  A clean sheet every so often would be nice too.

Expect some changes with third game in a week.

Like to see Bjarnason come in for Whelan, literally anyone for Jedinak and someone on the wing.

Green ahead of Axel would be a lot of pace and maybe give Green some confidence to beat a player.

I can’t see Green being anywhere near the first team squad for some time to come after his performances so far this season.
The choice to drop him and replace him with El Ghazi is an easy one to make.

For some reason Green seems to have lost his spark. He was pish when he came on against Ipswich and again on Wednesday. Maybe him hearing that we're signing 2 quality wide players in his position has took the wind out of his sails. There's a player in there though so I think he needs an arm round his shoulder and some encouragement not a loan spell in League 1.

Agree about Green against Ipswich and Brentford.  The wider he is the less confident he becomes.  He constantly tries to go inside the defender and is not helped by Hutton since he scored a goal thinking he is the Scottish McParland.

Bruce has said he’ll need to rest players as it’s our 3rd game in a week.

So if he still picks Jedinak at CB we know that he’s definitely just winding us up now.

They might have lost 3 so far but all by the odd goal. I am therefore not anticipating a cricket score. They fell apart badly from a comfortable position at Blackburn though so let's see how that hits their confidence. Perversely, Jedinak might be handy against a big donkey like Bodvarsonn today. And McShane is a 2000 year old calamity in their defence. Score early and we will walk it. Don't, they will park the bus. Home win regardless for me though.

Have they got Bacuna on another season long loan from Barcelona this year?

I don't want to contemplate anything other than a Villa win, but these are the sort of games that make me nervous. What we should do & what we actually do against so-called lesser opposition has bitten us many times & oft, so for once it'd be greatly appreciated if we can put these buggers to the sword. I hope SB doesn't make too many unforced changes, although I've no doubt Jedinak will definitely need a long rest now. ;)

So it's cautious 2-1 home win for me (with Jimmy D snaffling at least 1 or the 2).

So if he still picks Jedinak at CB we know that he’s definitely just winding us up now.

He also talks about Axel never playing 3 or 4 matches in a row.

And that last season it was 2 in a row

Doesn't seem to understand that is way they learn and develop and generally how progression is made.

He does sort of disclaimer as saying it's in quick succession but think he may rest him more than mile .

Never gives Tuanzebe a full run out !

I think he'll go Elmo full back and Hutton left
Chester Jedinak.

Need Jedinak for Ariel ability as their big threats is Bodvarsson who scores for fun with his head.
He ll defo score if Jedinak doesn't play at the back.

Hopefully el ghazhi will play !

Kodija will be hard to live with and those at the match im sure will give bacuna some telling reminders about his ability !

Hopefully he ll og or give a pen as a thank you for villa giving him a nice wage when he was at the mighty villa . Will be biggest club he ever gets !

3-0 if he does

Would like to see Green ahead of Tuanzebe as the extra pace behind and overlap option I think would help Andre a lot.
