Steer, Hutton, Chester, De Laet, Taylor, Green, Lansbury, Hourihane, Adomah, Grealish, Kodjia.
SUBS: Bunn, Sarkic, Whelan, Suliman, Bree, Blackett-Taylor, Elphick, Gardner, Clark, Knibbs.

That sides makes me realise how much we really need a centre back and a left back.
-
That's good team and likely to be involved in the promotion race next season if.....
-
Yes, if.
-
Looks like 352 again?
-
1 - 0 Kodga
-
1-0 us Jimmy.
-
De Laet looks like a different player this pre season (and yes I know it's pre season)
Still not convinced we've got the right personnel for 352 - especially sown the left
-
Kodjia needed fitness and confidence to get himself going again. And slowly he's starting to get back to form.
-
We've looked very lax at the back this pre season from what I've sern
-
Happy with the goal but that's pretty much the most experienced team he could make, do people still think there's a chance he'll change his spots and pick the kids?
-
How come no Davis?
-
We’ve been really sloppy today
-
This is pretty turgid stuff
Vs Walsall 352 looked like it made us really move the ball wel
Today the extra bite from the oppo shows up the weaknesses of some of our players and lack of pattern of play
Lansbury really needs to start doing more
Kodjia and adomah are a threat but my god they're going to frustrate me if they play upfront this season
-
Taylor is as fucking woeful as ever.
Green will never live up to his hype.
The left hand side needs completely revamping.
-
Lansbury is doing exactly what's he's done his entire career, he's coasting waiting for a chance to show everyone he's brilliant, after which he' ll go full peacock and offer nothing for the rest of the game.
Taylor is the biggest problem for me, if he plays this role regularly next season we're fucked.
-
Burton definitely the better side and finding space down the outside of our back three regularly
We've barely kept the ball for the last 20 mins
Good competitive work out
But would like more details evidence that having a settled squad is starting to mean we're more coherent
Plus we can't go into a season w the current set of centre backs.
-
Fuck me that was shite from Hutton, I know he's a cult figure amongst the fans but he's an awful player.
-
I see Bruce is using the likes of Richards. Ross and Tish together with several of the U21s .....
-
God the passing really is shit. Hourihane. Hutton. Lansbury. Basic stuff
They should have had two or three by now
-
Burton should be 4-1 to the good by now.
-
As per the last few seasons I really do wonder what they do on the training ground. Their movement is miles better than ours and if they could finish we’d be 3-1 down.
-
It really is pretty embarrassing fare
Maybe we'll revert to a back four second half
Adomah has been awful as has Lansbury, Taylor and Hutton
-
This midfield is all wrong, Lansbury and Hourihane don't work as the deeper 2 which is forcing Grealish deeper than he should be and as a result we've struggled to create anything.
-
Blue shorts and white socks(with c&b trim) for me.
-
What’s the score please? Still 1-0?
-
We need a more commanding presence at CB. Love Chester but he’s a brilliant, intelligent clean up type player. It’s why he looked so good next to Terry. But CB is a weak spot right now. And Neil Taylor is back to his usual gash level.
-
What’s the score please? Still 1-0?
Yes
-
Thanks TV.
-
Why do we have 2 goalkeepers on the bench?
-
Thanks TV.
We’re lucky to be leading. It’s been mostly Burton. Not a good display by us despite the score line.
-
1 - 0 half time winning but 2nd best
-
Why do we have 2 goalkeepers on the bench?
He's gonna play one of 'em centre forward second half. That first half display was nothing more than embarrassing.
-
Why do we have 2 goalkeepers on the bench?
The same reason we've had 4 right backs on the bench and played somebody out of position at right back.
-
Sounds like most of our away performances from last season.
-

Completely agree
The prioriry area to strengthen and if Chester goes its the difference between crisis and not
-
I’m not watching at the mom by but I think Lansbury and Hourihane lack physicality and sense when it comes to defending.
-
Lansbury is shit, as is Taylor.
-
The half time 'coverage' is strangely hypnotic.
-

Lansbury definitely lacks physical presence
Both give the ball away much too much
-
If adomah is offside once more I'm gonna drive to Burton and give him a bollocking myself
-
Forgot Gary Gardner was still there until he just got a mention.
-
2-0 us, albert.
-
If I'm kind, the pitch does look very bobbly
Same for both teams of course but they're more used to it
Hopefully we can get into our stride a bit now. I found that first half more sobering than a pre season game should be
-
Ooh that was nice
-
Corking goal from RDL.
-
3-0 De Laet lovely goal.
-
3 0 r d l
-
RDL should've bene a regular for us last season, much better player than Hutton or Elmo.
-
Really clever run by Jimmy also took two defenders with him on the edge of the box opening up the space for Ritchie
-
Great run and goal by RDL
-
I do like Doyle Hayes
-
4 0 gg
-
4-0 Gardner.
-
Gazza Gards makes it 4-0
-
Unselfish from Albert there.
-
I do like Doyle Hayes
We had loads of Jordan’s for a bit who disappointed overall. We need more Jack’s as they seem to do well.
-
Bringing on the extra energy of the kids has made a big difference, we look much sharper than them now.
-
I like that Kodjia is getting more time on the pitch to get sharp
-
Kodjia looks sharp
Sulliman looks like he's a risk and needs a loan when I've seen him and I wouldn't change that view based on what he's done so far
-
Ooooh JDH very close to making it 5
-
Good effort from Doyle Hayes

Almost scored a beaut there
I know Lansbury won't attract buyers and we need to give him a chance but I'd much rather see JDH ahead of him
-
Much, much better from Villa this half.
-
When speedsters get muscle injuries it’s always a concern. Corey Taylor has gone off with a hamstring injury
-
Much, much better from Villa this half.
Much. Hopefully some cob webs blown off
But Burton have been pressing us an awful lot less second half so it's hard to read too much into it
-
Has Doyle Hayes given it away once yet?
-
Full time 4 0
-
Bass Charity Vase Champions boys and girls. Not the Peace Cup but we'll take it.
-
the first step in our world domination five year plan.
-
+ De laet, Kodja, Corey Taylor, Doyle Hayes
- Neil Taylor
= The rest
-
Was that Keith Wyness handing out the medals from a cardboard box?
-
What a time to be alive. Filthy rich celebrated by smashing Burton.

With Lansbury's previous pedigree he should. We might have to take a hit on the wages unless it is one of the sides who have recently come down, though.
-
Two goals made from surging runs from midfield......had me thinking of Mortimer days
-
I like it when you get a trophy for a pre-season match. I think we should list it in our honours.

Angela has flattered to deceive ever since his arrival. I’d be offloading asap to make space for JDH or Lyden.

One more for the Noses to nick
-
First trophy won under the new owners. They really are great.
-
The quadruple is on.
-
RDL should've bene a regular for us last season, much better player than Hutton or Elmo.
this
he is a very good championship player and was a lot of my friends fave player at Leicester
can play 3 positions , whats not to like
Bruce loans him out and buys elmo
muppet
Bruce not elmo , well i suppose Elmo is a muppet too
-
Are West Ham up next? They drew 2-2 with Preston today. Aranutovic scored twice and they also played Yarmolenko so as good as last two results have been, that game will be massive step up in quality for our defence.
-
Will be good to see our back three tested
I think it needs a lot of work
-

Dennis or Paul? ;)

It might really get stolen like we had the FA Cup stolen many years ago.
If so the headline will surely read 'Gone For A Burton'.
-
Or "Who Grabbed My Bass."
-
Apparently the Burton manager was disappointed at the loss but not bitter

He needed game time and he got it
I don't see the big deal. Elmo was good for the bulk of last season
-
Quite a nice day down there. The first half was a bit drab but the second was more enjoyable. Good to see so many of the new shirts which do look really good.
-
RDL is a good player at this level and hopefully he’s overcome the injury.

Agree. I don't recall too many people having a problem when he went on loan. He had a bad injury and he had Elmo in front of him. He's looked good in the last couple of games i've seen though.

because RDL can play right, left or centre back and was already in the squad but instead we spent money that we clearly didn't have on buying in a replacement who didn't do much wrong but wasn't an upgrade over anyone we had in the squad.

Looks like the Sam Maguire perched on top of a stack of cards.

Ale just have to accept it.

That we are probably the best team in the world.

From the little I have seen of him Matt, I think he would be suited to playing the sitting role in midfield and just keeping the ball moving (bit like the job Ryan Woods does so well for Brentford). The only thing that might go against him in some eyes I suppose is his size.
