Hi Everyone,
This is my first time posting on your forum (I have to admit I have been a bit of a lurker). I am a keen Villa fan from Ireland and was over at the recent playoff final :( which brings me onto the point. After the game I unfortunately lost my wallet including bank cards, drivers licence etc. I was resigned to the fact that it was gone and then to my surprise the wallet turned up in the post the following Friday with the following message included:
'found in the Green Man Pub by a fellow Villa fan, all the best'.
Unfortunately the person who went to the hassle of sending it back to me didn't leave a name or any contact details which says a lot in itself really.
In the hope that the person who found it frequents this forum, I just want to say a big thank you for sending it across the water, it was much appreciated mate.

Fantastic story.
I hope the fellow Villa fan sees this.
Cheered me up in these dark days.

The Aston Villa family at it's best. Glad you got your wallet back mate

Great story. Is The Green Man pub the one near Wembley that backs onto the river? I have been there a few times for games and gigs but not for a quite a while.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Lovely story. Well done to the person who picked it up and sent it back.

The Green Man the pub on top of a hill🤔?
-
I think its full title is The Green Man Hotel and Pub. It is up a hill and close to Wembley. It has a massive beer garden but I don't remember the river. But then again that might be more suggestive of my condition and how the wallet was lost in the first place ;D.
Agree with everyone it was a class act.

Great stuff :)

Glad you got it back, TheIrishVillain.
Does something to restore your faith in people.
I really wanted to ask you, ‘Apart from that, how was your day at Wembley?’ :o
Sorry it was such a long way to come for that result, but I hope you had a good time until the final whistle. UTV!

Hi Louzie0,
Of course the result was disappointing but I would definitely do it all over again. The pre-match atmosphere on the bit of a green down from the Green Man Pub was fantastic.
I been following Villa since the early 1990's when the team had some big Irish players in the squad like McGrath, Houghton, Townsend & Staunton. So i'm in it for the long haul now :)
