Title: Good luck from Stoke
Post by: Somebody_Told_Me on May 23, 2018, 07:45:44 AM
Good Luck!
Hope you go up rather than another London club. I think I speak for many Stokies, though I do like the Villa/Stoke games home or away. Hopefully we'll get that in the money league soon though.

All the best!

Cheers, mate. I'll never forget the game you came back from 2 - 2 to draw 2 - 2, which maybe changed our history, but that's football. I worked with a few Stokies and they were all good guys.

Hope you recover from your Lambert-ing, as it was only 5 months it shouldn't take you as long as it's took us.

Cheers fella. It’s sad what’s happened to your team but good luck next season. I was up there for your first Premier League game. You won 3-2 with Roberts embarrassing the great Martin Laursen.

I was there for that one too, mate. Wasn't it Fuller? He was superb that day!

Yes Fuller, wish we had him still! Stayed in the area like Mama Sidibe and both (more Sidibe) play local Sunday Mornings, I've played against him. Great bloke! Scored winner in the previouly mentioned 3-2 game v Villa in first home game and win in Prem.

Chris Jameson took against the old Stokie who used to post on here but if you love The Clash and The Jim Jones Revue, you can stay.

Oh Ricardo himself? I could have sworn it was Jason but memory has been diluted by Gin. The only time I felt let down by Laursen.

I came on a bit before when we first got promoted, 99.9% always been ok with me to be fair. I haven't been on when playing you as it just causes conflict, you or I can do without.

IIRC it was Bunny, started off ok and then for some reason turned into a twat.

Eastie has probably spent the week stalking Stevie B's house.

Davey B was ok.  Never controversial or rude and seemed a decent sort.  He finally admitted that we were right when MON drove them into the ground.  I think he was a mate of Eastie's which is why he began posting on here.  He left when Eastie did.

You are right Dave. Davey B had a few personal problems and I think he was struggling to find the cash to go to games and lost a bit of interest. I recall him saying he couldn't afford Wembley with his lad whenever they reached the League Cup final.

It seems some Fulham fans wouldn't have bothered either given what a Mickey Mouse competition it is.

He lost his job IIRC which, while not great anywhere would be particularly devastating up there.  I always thought he seemed like a bloke that would be fun to have a pint with.

Stoke tried to speak to him in Jan when they sacked Hughes but Derby wouldn't allow them. I wonder did that distraction help cause their dip in form til the last few games of the season as Derby were a good bet for second place at Christmas.

I really wish this Stoke fan wouldn't post on here.  Not because he's offensive or anything like that, it's just that it gives me a very irritating earworm song which has now gone into two days.  Apoligies if I've given it to anybody else.

I'd be livid if a Derby fan, but

Can't blame for moving from Burton to Small Heath
Can't blame him for getting sacked from SMA (not sure I buy the reasons from them for sacking).
Can't blame him from moving to Derby (fan and all that)
Turned us down in Jan, don't blame him. Probably better chance of Prem footy than us next year, blew that.
Now it gets interesting because he's been told to cut wages and sell. So without sentiment from Derby fans, we probably offer him now a better chance. Also he probably signed a 3 year deal in Jan so he can leave, if no promotion and Derby get £1.8m in compo.

He would have been a bigger prize twat, if walking out in Jan.

We do seem to be lots of people's second club today. I've had loads wish us good luck today.

Any mention of Special K does need a Placebo link though:
