Villa Park, Friday 13th April, 7.45ko.
1-1
-
-
Leeds missing most of their defence, including Jansson. Their fans want the manager out already. 4-1 to us.
On a side note, Leeds haven't sold out. Leeds would have took more...
-
Great thread topic title: well remembered!
2-1 to the Village.
-
It's the same as last time, we really need to win this if.....................
I think we will.
-
0-2.
-
A goal difference improving score would suffice. Might be crucial.
-
I'm going to this one...woohoo! Haven't been at the Villa since Christmas 2010. And it was 2002, the last Villa/Leeds tie I was at. Both were 1-0 losses, so the law of averages surely predicts a home win.
-
3-0 home win
-
Leeds have won 2 out of the last 19 games and have 9 first team squad players missing
3 - 0 home win
-
Excellent thread title! We'll win just because of this.
2-0
-
Thread title made me laugh. Should be able to beat Leeds, although Pontus will no doubt score for them.
He’s their version of Southgate, who always used to score against Leeds.

Pontus is injured and wont play

Yep everything in our favour so 0-2 Leeds

Pontus is injured and wont play
Grealish will be relieved, didn't he take him out the game last season.
Leeds fans have lost faith with the manager.
3-0 win for the Village. Kodjia to score
3-0
-
Rotate, rotate, rotate
Anyone with a hint of an injury shouldn't play
Kodjia up top, Snodgrass and Adamoah to be rested
Johnstone, Bree, Chester, Samba, Taylor/Hutton, Jedinak/Whelan, Onomoah, Lansbury, Grealish, Grabban, Kodjia
-
Dirty Leeds are abysmal. We shall annihilate them.
3-0 Villa.
Milosevic, Taylor, Yorke.
-
Stuff ‘em 4-0.
-
I hate dirty leeds, don't everybody? , anything nil will do me.
-
Time to shuffle the pack tomorrow night. Snodgrass and Adomah need a break and I would take Hourihane out of the side as well. Think there are some players in the squad who need some game time and it was quite reassuring to see Samba coming on for the closing stages on Tuesday as we do need cover in that area.
-
Grabban and Kodj starting please.
Snodgrass will want to play against his old club.
Freshen it up in the middle again, would start Bjarni if he's o.k. Maybe Lansbury aswell as he scored at Elland Road.
Bree did well enough to retain his place.
2-0 win. Leeds have been pretty poor for a while now and don't think Heckinbotham will make next season.
-
Be good to give JK 60 mins and hopefully bag a goal. There's a few places up for grabs given our injuries (Birkir, Terry, Man Utd bloke and Hutton all out). I'd expect Taylor to return so maybe Bree at RB and push Elmo up to relieve one of Snodgrass or Albert. Another option is to play Grabban wide left as he did late on the other night as I think both our wide players could benefit from a break.
Should be a comfortable win......
-
We've too many old timers who started the other night will be breathing out of their arses if they play. So no Whelan, Snodgrass or Jedinak please. Even though they're mediocre, they're still Leeds and we may show them too much respect. 1-1.
-
and don't think Heckinbotham will make next season.
There is a dichotomy here. I want Heckinbottom to succeed but not Leeds🤔
-
They are struggling to field a defence and are not happy with the goings on behind the scenes. Score first and we will hammer them.
-
Their fans want the manager out already.
A Leeds fan I know wants McCarthy. How the mighty have fallen.
-
3-0 Village, Angel Cole and McCann to score the goals and Jon Champion and Peter Brackley to go crazy in the commentary. I still think PES 4 still the best gameplay of any football game ever.

"Reassuring" and "Samba" in the same sentence?
Not very reassuring.

Pontus is injured and wont play
He's not injured but 'following procedure' after a head injury against Preston. But he's still out.
-
If go with;
Johnstone
Bree
Jedinak
Chester
Elmo
BB
Grabben
Grealish
Lansbury
Snoddy
Kodjia
-
Come on Villa boys, another 3 points please to pressure 2nd place! UTV
-
Just can't see us getting second place. Villa need to box clever now and ensure players are fully fit for the play-offs. I think we'll win this game 3-1. Leeds, apparently are suffering with a long injury list.
-
I've been away for a much-needed wee Spring break, but I'm none the wiser about what Village team will turn up tonight. The midweek victory over Colin's Cloggers were typical Villa (ie expect the unexpected), but I was quite-lidderally jumping for joy after seeing the result. The Yarkshire types current plight doesn't fill me with nerves - especially with their injuries - so I'm hoping we can kick on to a strong finish to the season.
2-1 to the Village: and a further stay of execution for Brucie.
-
You just know that when jnr and I head down the M6, Village will do their level best to put a dampener on our Dad and Lad day/night out !
Hopefully we will celebrating another 3 points to secure that play off berth
I will be cautiously optimistic with a 2-0 to the Village
Whatever happens jnr and I shall be having our much anticipated Balti pie and chips prior to kick off - in all honesty that ritual is usually the only enjoyable part of our trip down :)
-
3-0 Villa.
-
2-0 Villa win.
-
Whilst there's still a shot at getting second we have to keep pressing the issue and just hope Fulham slip up. This is a strange game as Leeds have nothing to play for and sometimes that can be dangerous. But our home form has been good overall and we should get a boast from beating Cardiff. Will go 2-0 Villa. Grealish and Double A.
-
As always of late, the only thing that will stop us winning this is ourselves. Even with a few changes, we should have enough to see off these.
3-0 us. Full steam ahead. Keep winning, let's see where we can get to.
-
We will win, I'm going for 2-1, despite some nervy moments, typical Village.
Have a feeling he'll rest Adomah tonight, he's looked in need of a break, and the team I'd pick would be:
Johnstone
Elmo Chester Jedinak Bree
Bjarnasson
Snodgrass Lansbury Grealish Grabban
Hogan
Subs: Bunn Samba Taylor Whelan Adomah Onamah Kodjia

Would like to see RHM on the bench too, maybe at the expense of Adomah. We should have enough there to beat Leeds without him in the squad. He needs a rest and to be ready to go for the play offs.

What's the thread title all about?
When the (terrible) new Leeds badge came out a few months ago, it was thought that it looked like the badge for Leeds in Pro Evo soccer on games consoles, which have the team names above due to not having the licence to use real teams. Our OS ran with it, and put an article up using the made up computer game names, to much merriment on Twitter.
-
Would not start Kodji he still working his way back and with play offs a more likely outcome we need to get his fitness up but not risk a re occurrence of injury so still on the bench for me.
Hopefully Thor is fit I'd consider Onomoh and Lansbury coming in to freshen things up as well.

Thor is fit, Terry, Hutton and Tuanzebe are all still out.

full round up for an international laugh

2-0 to The Village.
Yorkshire Whites have not much to play for. Play offs gone.
It should be a straightforward win.
I'd like to see The Kodge get a goal.
Up The Village!

Is Tuanzebe made of glass?

This should be an easy three points given the state Leeds are in at the moment.
4-0 though it may be more.
From their forum:
Leeds travel down to Villa Park on Friday evening to play an in form Villa side five points from an automatic spot. An inevitable defeat & we could drop another place
I assume Saiz & Alioski will start after being rested or dropped on Tuesday night. I hope Pablo doesn't suffer the same fate tomorrow
Jansson is unfit to play so we haven't got a recognised defender in our back-four with what was our 3rd choice keeper between the sticks
Apologies for sounding cynical does anyone actually think that all the injuries are genuine?
Berardi excludes himself from the club by getting himself suspended for five games and has caught a plane to Ibiza! What were we saying about his passion for our club?
What an utter shambles
-
In form Villa side???

"One West Midlands Village; there's only one West Midlands Village ..."

With the injuries they have, we should win comfortably but its not always that easy with us. I'll go 2-1. Grabban and Snodders with ours.
-
Bringing my old man to this one, his first Villa game since the Lambert era. That one saw us dismantled by Lukaku & Everton. I think in all the games we've been to together, ever since our first vs. Blackburn in '94, we've only ever won 1.
Hoping tonight can right a few wrongs.
-
With them being an awful side of third rate cloggers devoid of any quality whatever and us being the mighty Aston Villa, we should win comfortably but its not always that easy with us. I'll go 2-1. Grabban and Snodders with ours.
FTFY

2-0 to the Villa.
-
5.0
It really is only when we play these arseholes that I can ever be stirred by them. As someone wrote in H&V years ago - disliking Leeds is like shooting fish in a barrel. Historically they beat Man U to title in 1992, their only saving grace as far as I can recall
-
My former Senior Partner, who is now our Compliance Officer, is a Leeds fan, so I hope the players realise it is very important that we win tonight.
-
3-0 to the mighty Villa.
-
Oh I do love the M6, especially on a Friday and with a 3 year old in tow!
Don't disappoint Villa.
-
Depending on his fitness levels, I would be tempted to give Samba a start tonight. I don't think we can rely on Terry's fitness and there isn't much margin for error in the play offs, so we need to give other options there some game time. I think that applies in some other areas as well, especially central midfield and the likes of Lansbury and Onomah.
-
Too many changes tonight might just unbalance things, there needs to be a happy medium. Tuanzebe being out means one enforced change and personally, rather than see Taylor back in the side after his Norwich debacle, i would rather Thor play at left back.
-
Just heard, Leeds have won 2 in 18!
0-1
-
I just hope it isn't a game like QPR, need to be up for this one.
-
Snoddy, Albert, Connor, Samba, Bree and Hogan on the bench.
Jedi at CH
Taylor back
Whelan MF
Kodja starts
-
Oh and Onomah starts too.

Yup, sorry, fortunately Snoddy starts. I guess Bruce realises he's left it very late to start giving a chance to our younger players.

I agree but I can't help thinking that if Hogan had dropped to the reserves for 7-8 games and scored better than a goal a game he'd be talking about how he'd done everything right and earned his recall but when an 18/19 year old does it he barely notices. That's his biggest blind spot for me, he clearly doesn't trust our U23 players, which makes no sense given the performances they've put in this season.
