No real complaints with that line up.
Great to see Kodjia on the bench.

Surprised at Elmo being on the bench, didn't he get injured on INT duty?

Didn't he play as RB at Fulham and totally nullify Sessegnon first half?

Decent lineup, only one I'd question is Tuanzebe (would have gone with Elmo). I think we will win comfortably 0-3.

That line-up looks very strong on paper, but it's how they'll fare on the pitch that matters (obviously). Let's hope they get back to winning ways with a performance that shows why we're at the top end of the table.

Let's be 'avin ya!

You have to wonder what's changed to result in the rest of the lads turning so shite after such a good run. They can't be tired currently, they've had plenty of breaks recently for one reason or the next.

Well the only way all 3 can be nullified is if they are either laying crap, not bothered or tired or something.

It's that the ball isn't getting to them.  Hull upped the tempo in midfield and started picking up all the scraps and closing quickly on Lansbury and Jedinak.  That has led to us pumping it long and we can't get the attacking midfielders into the game.

Bruce sees we've lost midfield. Takes off our defensive midfielder, drops us from 3 to 2 man in the middle and puts a striker on. Then we've got even less of the ball. Classic Bruce.
We're waiting for one moment of possible magic, and hoping we take it now.

This Utd kid Tuanzebe. Really do not see what he brings to the side. He's definitely not a fullback and he's a worry defensively and not great on the ball. I'm all for loan players, but they need to add something to the side.

We don't look like we've had an international break either. Very leggy. It just seems like we've burned out now. Our best players are getting on a bit, or have struggled a lot with injury, and it looks like it's showing in the run in.

Personally I'd rest some of them in the run in.

As Tom mentioned we have plenty of 30 + year olds in our starting 11 and after that great effort v Wolves it's starting to show.

We need everyone fit and firing for the play offs. Don't see how that will be achieved by starting them game after game in the run in.

2nd is obviously gone.

It astonishes me that the last few Villa managers have watched us losing a midfield battle and then thrown on a load of strikers as if it's the answer. Bruce has previous. Hogan, Grabban and Kodjia up and we've got a midfield of Grealish and Snodgrass, which leaves Lansbury as the 'disciplined' 'ball winner.' It's like Bruce has never watched Lansbury before.

John Terry hasn't look at his imperious best last few games. Rest him for a few. Plenty criticising Axel on here, on Man. United forum they all say his best position is at CB so play him there.

This has been a masterclass of mediocrity with a healthy sprinkling of ineptness so far.

I'll never ever fully understand what Lansbury does

That's a bit harsh. His contribution to contemporary hairstyles is second to none.
We've got Grealish for that.

D'oh! So we have (although nobody rocks a man-bun like our Ange).

Season over now until the play offs start. All these experienced players were supposed to carry us through the run in. We've completely bottled it.

There are rules against that now.

I don't mean all at one go.

John Terry hasn't look at his imperious best last few games. Rest him for a few. Plenty criticising Axel on here, on Man. United forum they all say his best position is at CB so play him there.

We will need Jedinak for the play offs. Not sure we need him for Reading at home.

Agreed

Although would prefer to go in the play offs with some confidence on the back of some wins

Dire second half performance and lucky to get a point in the end as that was a definite pen for Grealish's handball.  To only get one point from the last three fixtures is a terrible return.
