One of my favourite away games, at this point we were on a decent revival under Brian Little having beat Wimbledon 7-1 the previous match. Deano's second is still my favourite headed goal ever. Interestingly, of all the goals he scored for us, Saunders still reckons the first here was his favourite in claret and blue because he anticipated where the ball would go ahead of the defender.

A repeat of that would be great. Wish we had players of that calibre now.

I was away for most of 95 ( travelling, not doing time ) never seen those goals before. What a header by Deano.

Ian Taylor the epitome of a box-to-box midfielder for the first goal. Just trying to work out the formation from the clips as I could see Bosnich, Charles, McGrath, Ehiogu, Teale, Staunton, Townsend, Taylor, Yorke, Saunders and Johnson. Can't recall if we were playing the 3-5-2 we would adopt under Little at that point or whether it was a 4-4-2 with Teale at left back and Staunton and Yorke on the wings.

352 I'm thinking
Bosnich
Charles Teale Ehiogu McGrath Staunton
Taylor Townsend Yorke
Saunders Johnson
We scored a lot of goals that season.from Staunton crosses

I wasn't at that game as I was living abroad at the time but in a game I was at didn't we beat them 2-1 at Hillsborough a couple of years before that. Without checking I think it was around December and Dalian scored. I think he scored both our goals.

Thankyou. I knew we won 2-1 and Dalian scored at least one. I wasn't sure though if it was him or Deano who got the other.

What a player Deano was, fantastic runs for both goals, seems to know where the ball is going for both.
