I took a look at the recent form of the top 8 clubs and projected results for the best four games. Nothing overly scientific but I think by the time we’ve beaten the Noses at Villa Park we will have closed the gap on Derby to 2 points and will be sitting in 3rd.

Ipswich A - 1
Sheff Utd H - 3
QPR H - 3
Derby - 59
Bristol City H - 3

Birmingham H - 3
Cardiff - 54 (have a cup game also)

If we can get nine points from a possible twelve by winning those three 'winable' home games I think only Wolves and Derby might equal or better that.
-
With Sheffield United struggling a bit, I'd hope for a really good return from these next four games. Ten or possibly even 12 points, should firmly cement our position in the play offs and hopefully cub the gap to the automatic spots right down.
-
We should be looking at 12.
Derby will get 10 from those though.
Cardiff will get 6. They will either win or lose games, not draw them.
-
The form book says we could get 12 points, or at least 9 or 10. Easy.
The problem is, this is football and whoever we play (good or bad) the bastards still spend the whole game trying to stop us getting those points.
-
Derby have been good but looking at who they have played recently so they should. Most of the teams are bottom half so they have tests to come and I am sure they will drop points. It sounds simple, but we just need to go on another run of 12-15 matches and put them under pressure. It's fine beating Blose when you're 5 points clear. What about when it's 1 or 2 and pressure starts to bite? We'll see.
-
The major issue I have with Steve Bruce is that he looks at a cluster of games. I prefer to look at one at a time. By the way the games immediately after Barnsley are definitely not nailed on.

We are going to have to go on that kind of run or maybe even a longer one at some point if we are going to go up automatically,
-
13 more wins needed. Win the next four, as we have a good shout of doing so and we will set ourselves right up to go up automatically.
-
Millwall got a great home record haven't they, I'm optimistic Derby will struggle to win there.
Also means I'd prefer second is settled before the final day as that game will be very tough to win if Millwall need something to stay up. You saw the effort they put in at VP and we really struggled against that.
-
A close mate is a big derby fan. He’s worried cause they have not had their ‘bad patch’ of form/run yet. He’s convinced it’s going to happen.
It really could come down to our game at VP though!
-
Bristol and Millwall away won't be easy. Could do with them dropping a few points while we win to ensure pressure plays a part.
-
A minimum or 8; very happy with 10.
-
11 points at minimum.

Spoke to a Blue Nose today (a rare, decent level-headed one) who reckons Derby were nothing special yesterday and he can see them falling away. He said Derby scored break away goals at key moments but Small Heath dominated for long spells.
-
Derby having a second half of the season collapse has been a club ritual for some time. It’s hard to shake that kind of thing off.

I'm happy to support you through your magic mushroom withdrawal.

It's a Rowett team so they're not likely to dominate possession even against the worst teams in the league.
They play in a similar style to us really. Could mean we both last the pace while more eye catching teams like Bristol fall away a bit.

11 points at minimum.

Yep, sounds like them. You can never beat Blues, only score more goals them.

To their credit, they are actually fighting for their lives, even against Derby according to reports, they never gave up. Saying that, a defeat against us will probably put an end to that. It will be a tough game but a game we should win.

To the folks predicting a 10-12 point tally from the next four, when have we ever gone on a run like that when it really counts?
I think we'll lose to Sheffield United and win at least two of the home games, so I'll say 7-9 points.

November/December 2017. Don't lose on Saturday and it'll be now.
-
We should beat Sheffield Utd. They are useless. However we let them back from 2-0 down I don't know
