Struggling to get a return train ticket for less than £71. If any one the genii on here who are good at splitting tickets have an idea to save some money I'd be very grateful.
Also, are there many pubs in Middlesbrough or would I be better drinking nearby and heading into the town later?
-
Middlesbrough is fairly small town centre but there's a few pubs around. Walking distance to stadium as well.

Plenty of bars and pubs in Boro. The station is pretty much in the middle of the town. If you're after a bite to eat, I'd recommend a look to the Orange Pip Market. Lots of street food stalls, serving food from all over the world.

Doc Brown's was a pub if I recall that was ok.

Blimey, is that still there? Yeah it was ok, although when we showed up all they had left was bottles of Becks which is vile stuff.

11.03 Chesterfield to York (same train) £9.60
and 18.45 York to Chesterfield £8.40
13.15 York to Boro. £7.50
17.26 Boro to York. £7.50
Finally 20.07 Chesterfield to Tamworth is also 8.90.
