Well, like last week it might not keep the ball all that well but could be dangerous if they can spring the fast players on the break.

Best team available so happy with that.

Grealish, Green, Lansbury, Jedinak, RDL and RHM all to be added to the mix over the coming weeks hopefully.

We really shoud be Top 6 with a fully fit squad !

Top 3 all winning fairly late on was a blow, thought we might have the chance to make up a bit of ground on them.

2 goal win and we go 9th.

Really looking forward to this. Come on Villa, take the chance you've got this week and grasp it with both hands.

Nice strating XI , but the bench looks shit.

How does it compare to Forest's though? Which of these would you rather be on our bench instead of theirs Lichaj, Mancienne, Osborn, Clough, Carayol, Henderson, Cummings. And remember how many players we have to come back into our squad.

Looks a bit too attacking for me.  Only Whelan can hold (naturally).  Does Adomah play more narrowly in this formation?

So it is better than the team we're playing and we have a number of players to come back that are currently unavailable. I bet they're weren't many, if any, benches in the division today that were better. Just because by our standards of the past it's crap, doesn't mean it is for where we, sadly, currently are.

I think it's basically defensive as it's not meant to keep the ball, but sit in and look to break.

We've had this squad of players for a while, one of the most expensive in this league and we should be in the top 6. It's the manager's style of play that's the problem and his regular changing the team around.

Hopefully with today's team he's learnt a lesson from our previous league game and we can expect another 3 or 4 goals.

I assume RDL is injured again, feck knows where Bree is. Add them, Jack, Jedi, even Gabby and we have a bench anyone in this division would want.

That's the kind of through ball that any striker would feast off especially the likes of Kodjia and Hogan. Our midfield needs to do that more often to our forwards.

This does show the difference having a player who's genuinely too good for this level makes.  If Bruce does hang on to his job and get us into the play offs (or better) he'll owe a huge amount of gratitude to Kodjia.

Forest look as mentally weak as we've been in the last few years, they started ok and were moving the ball well but as soon as we scored they looked terrified of committing players forward and stopped running off the ball.

We should be 2-3 up already, they really were there for the taking.

Goes without saying we need to ensure that we get more out of our control of the game. Whelan and Hourihane are a bit too deep and defensive. We don't need that. May be replace Whelan with Onomah. We need a bit more urgency and middle two need to push up more. Their number 31 looks useful other than that complacency is our worst enemy.

I must be watching a different game to you, I don't think Whelan and Hourihane are too deep otherwise we would have been overrun in the middle of the pitch. Replace them and need more urgency? Jeez we must be losing.

Thought they were going to spank us after the first 15 minutes, everything playing in our half but Uncle Albert and the Old Codger changed all that.

I think Whelan has had a cracking first half, breaking up almost everything, covering for Elmo when he was being targeted and keeping the ball moving. Hope that was our shit half.

On the bright side, I have a tenner on villa ahead half time but losing the match at 38/1.

Which means we will get a point at least

Sky Go is about 45 seconds behind live. Not sure why as it is using exactly the same Wifi as my TV would...

I only realised this when the BBC Sport app on my phone told me Adomah had scored.  On the laptop, I think the ball was still in our half ffs!

Get another clean sheet and we have won. How many minutes now without conceding?

345 mins plus injury times.

I think we did enough to win it (just) but we will of course play better teams this season and if we lose Kodjia and or Amomah for any length of time we're fooked. They give us the pace and directness that gives you a chance of goals, and they both finish well too.
