To be fair, the Yeboah goal was pretty special too!

Good, but no umbrella.

Voted 4 times. Still 19% so a drop in an ocean of misguided nincompoops.

Either of Le Tissier's two against Newcastle in 1993 were way better than the one listed here vs Blackburn.

The first Le Tiss goal against Newcastle is better than all those in the poll

Pretty special player Lee Tissier. It was criminal how he was overlooked by England.
-
Done but there is something about that Yeboah goal that I love and he scored this one a couple of weeks before which is also not too shabby.

Poor defending and the keeper should have been using his hands to make himself bigger.
Vote Dalian.

One of my biggest regrets not going to this game. Went to Middlesbrough the week before, I couldn't afford to go to both.
-
My dads 15 seconds of fame is that the Umbrella guy was stood next to him. I'm forever hearung that story.
-
The cynic in me firmly beleives that 10 million votes could be cast for Dalian and Beckham would still win.
-
Dalian in 4th place on 19%. Come on people!
-
With the weight of the H&V board behind him how can Dalian lose :)

Daily Heil have done a piece about footballs 'best' since it started in 1992. Best player, best manager, best goal.
Well done to Mike Keegan and Peter Jensen for picking out Dalians wonder goal.
Link below. I was unsure wether to do it with the ongoing debate regarding tabloid shitmongers but here you go if you want to read. WARNING does contain a lot of sycophantic predicable guff.

British football was behind the curve when it came to playing with a 'number 10' style player. Instead of being used in that role, players like Le Tissier and Merson were just shifted out wide in a 4-4-2.

There's now a 'Final Five' with Yeboah, Henry, Bergkamp, Rooney and Wilshire.
What happened there?!
-
I think they have had separate polls for each five season spell. Dalian's was nominated for the 1992/93-96/97 season but lost to Yeboah.
The winners of each five season poll are in the "final" vote.
I only know because I checked to see if Lowton's goal at Stoke was nominated.
It wasn't. ******.
-
Probably because it didn't win goal of the season. RvP won with his offside goal against us iirc.
-
Bergkamp's should win. Pure class.

Bergkamp's should win. Pure class.
I've seen it so many times but it's still mesmerising. Sometimes I have to work out how he did it as the angles seem all wrong.
I prefer Yeboah though. Just that sort of goal, the one you dream of scoring as a lad.
-
Both goals were jammy, IMO. You can't beat Bacuna's screamer against West Brom.

You can't teach finishing like that one.
