O.K so premier league fixtures have come out this morning. Seems odd we have to wait a further week for football league considering that it kicks off a week earlier. I know they did the same last year but I thought that was for a one off anniversary or something.
Anyway I'll go for PNE at home.
Hopefully home on Boxing day at a sensible time aswell as we've been shafted too often down the years on that day. SHA at home in April is usually a good result aswell.
-
Sunderland at home.
-
Barnsley at home.
-
Burton at home
-
Barnsley Away
-
Middlesboro away.
-
Home to Millwall
-
Forgot about Millwall. Since 1975 whenever we're in the same division as them that's not been the top flight we've finished 2nd.

The lower down the leagues you go, the later the fixtures. It's to do with pairings at our level and groundsharing further down.
-
Bristol City, away.
-
Sandwell are at home on Boxing Day which would point to us being on the road. The reverse is true on NYD.

They're also at home on the opening day, which would suggest we'll start somewhere lovely in the August sun. Or Millwall.

Division 2 starts a week before the top flight.
-
Reading away.
-
As we start a week before the Premier League, and Baggies are at home first game, it looks most likely that we will be at home first up.
Extending the logic... Sunderland and Fulham will be at home first game too as Newcastle and Chelsea start with home matches.
I reckon we will be at home to Millwall.
-
Brentford away
-

Bollocks, I hate NYD games. Hopefully someone boring so I won't feel obliged to turn up.
I think we are away last game of the season, too.
-
Brentford away
Our first game is at home.
-
sheffield utd at home
-
Reading at home.

We are going to be at home 99% certain, Ipswich I will go for.
-
Q.P.R away.
-
Dirty Leeds at home.
-
Derby at home
-
Wolves at home
-
Taking into consideration Albion are at home a week later then in theory we should be at home a week earlier. Would take pne now
-
Leeds away.
Straight up and at 'em!
With our half a new team!Live on the box,Sunday afternoon!
-
Brentford away
Never been but aren't they the club with a pub on every corner of the ground? I might go just to hopefully bump into the very lovely celeb fan of theirs Natalie Sawyer off of Sky.
-
Home to SHA......
-

Yeah. We went to the Griffin last season. Cracking pub.
-
We should have a pub on every corner of Villa Park. Not sure how much money they'd make on non match days, however.
I think we'll get Sheff United first, Blues next.
-
Ipswich at home
-
Hull away
-
I go on holiday the day the season starts so it will be a home game. I will go for one of the Sheffield clubs.
-
Someone that sets the tone for our season.
-
SHA at home
-
Barnsley at home.
-

Didn't notice that, could well be right although I think we played at home a few times when they did on the same day last season.
-
Home to SHA......
No chance - they'll be wet Autumn and Spring Sunday's again.
-
Millwall away
-
Home Sheffield Wednesday

Bolton home
-
Millwall away.

Someone that sets the tone for our season.
Bolton at home.
-
Barnsley at home
-
Whoever we play, fuck the fuckers
-
QPR at home
Never heard this one until last night QPR = Quality Players Ruined.
-
Would like it to be a home game considering how shocking our away form was last season. Will go for QPR at home to start with in a nice throw back to the 93/94 season 8) And my prediction for our final game (of the regular season that is ;)) is Leeds away.
-
Sunderland away
-
Sheffield United at home.
-
Bolton home
-
Burton at home
-
Another one for Millwall (a).
-
At home yo Hull. That'll do.
-
First game is Hull at home, probably going to be a TV game that.
SHA away is usual late October. Home game 10th Feb.
Boxing day away to Brentford.
-
And we're already on TV ha!
-
Saturday 5.30 ko
-
And we're already on TV ha!
And our cup game is on TV too.
-
I'm never gonna get to go to Preston. Fucking Tuesday night. And we will have only had two days rest.
Oh, and Millwall away last game, that'll be fun...
-
Right I've been through the lot and calculated we will get at least 120 points.
More seriously, my brain still hasn't got used to the fact that I don't need to scan away games at Man City and Man United for write offs.
-
Quite a tough start for us really but it's still hardly Arsenal, Chelsea, Man. City and Liverpool in a row is it.
Just looking at October and we have Wolves, Fulham and SHA. Didn't we have the exact same sequence in October last year?!
-
Fucking hell. Typical Villa. Bruce OUT!
-
Just looking at the fixtures and we'll have played more or less a quarter of the season by the end of September.
-

I also thought that a few fixtures seem very similar to last season. Bristol, Barnsley, Leeds away, and Brentford, Forest, Reading at home are all at a similar date plus the ones you've said.
-
I note Sunderland away is a midweek game although we used to have that in the prem aswell.
Hull away is over the Easter weekend, Norwich is actually a week later.
-
Not sure what day the Colchester game is on. On one screen Sky say it is the Tuesday and then on another screen they say it is the Wednesday.
-

Norwich away on Easter Friday!
There is also something strange where once you have a team midweek for one fixture, the reverse is always midweek as well.
Sunderland and Preston this season, Huddersfield last season, etc.
-
Hull at home it is and already moved to the evening by post Sky. Thanks a bunch.

That should read poxy sky!

First screen was wrong it's on the Wednesday

For once that time fixture does me a favour.
-

I'd rather they give us plenty of notice. At least nobody will have already made transport/accommodation arrangements so it shouldn't be a massive inconvenience.
Watch the bastards move all our away games to ungodly hours...
-
I can't remember the last time I watched a Saturday 5:30 game properly. It's an absolute shithouse of a time if you have young kids.
-
That is a tough start to the season.
I agree, Cardiff have improved under Warnock and tend to be a tough away trip for us, and Reading were one of the best teams last season, will have to hope they have a hang over from the Play-off defeat. And Norwich are another tough team. I am pleased with our first game though. Can see Bruce having the lads pumped up for that one!
-
Something I used to really look forward to. Then I see the teams we have to play and get a great sense of 'God not again'.
-
Will Cardiff give us loads of tickets like they did Newcastle?
-

Huh, it's only our second year with all these teams. Novelty factor is still there.
-
Are we allowed to post the full fixtures then or are they under embargo until the Argus comes out at 5pm or whatever?
-
It could have been an easier start, but no combination of fixtures in this league is daunting.
-
SHA fans predicting they will be top by end of August with their 'easy' start.
-
I'm never gonna get to go to Preston. Fucking Tuesday night. And we will have only had two days rest.
Oh, and Millwall away last game, that'll be fun...
We must seriously hope there's nothing riding on that game for either team !
-
Not sure what day the Colchester game is on. On one screen Sky say it is the Tuesday and then on another screen they say it is the Wednesday.
It's obviously a new system of playing a two legged cup tie - with both games away - let's hope away goals count double.
-
Zero times two is still zero.
-
Don't mind Preston away midweek as I live in the nw. But Sunderland , reading always was never going burton and a fun day out last away now cancelled. Mixed bag. If I am not wrong in our promotion year in the 70's wasn't hull our first or second game All I remember was loads of Brutus wanting to kick a 14 year olds head in all wearing silver docs
-
Millwall away for our Promotion Party, thousands of Villa in the home ends..
-
It could have been an easier start, but no combination of fixtures in this league is daunting.
Is the right answer. Every game is winnable if we get ourselves in order and are up for it. We need to be focused on getting up, no pissing about, win each game.
-
It's about time fans of other teams look at where we come in a run of their fixtures and start to panic.
-
Millwall away last game? Fucking promotion party right there.
-
Millwall away last game? Fucking promotion party right there.
Promotion party in the ground for an hour after the game, because that's the minimum we will be locked inside the ground after the final whistle.

It was said rather tongue in cheek.
-
But manic is still spot on.
-
Last time we played there it was a scene from Green Street (they know an outsider when they see one) when two of us walked into the Barnaby (their so called main boozer) - luckily I knew one lad in the pub who I used to work with and they could not have been better with us. The most on top when I have been there was the southern floodlight semi and the fa amateur cup ilford v Leatherhead with the locals thinking all Ilford fans were Appy Hammers
-
First three away games are the closest to me in Dorset, so lots of early season games, as long as I can get tickets!
-

I've read this 4 times and it still doesn't make sense to me
