Tactics Tim's finest hour: Villa 2 Liverpool 1
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/32273487
Villa's win was a triumph for manager Tim Sherwood as his side produced a performance of style, composure and grit to come from behind and reach their first FA Cup final [/size]since their loss to Chelsea in 2000. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/fa_cup/756784.stm)[/b]

And what a terrific day it was. I remember being in a boozer early doors surrounded by plastic scousers all suggesting we enjoy our "big day out" 2 hours in and the place fills up with Villa and they change their tunes
So drunk that day and what a day to be - best game I have seen for many years
-
This is why I have a soft spot for Sherwood. He kept us up and gave us a couple of genuine great days. A few bright spots in nearly 7 years of misery at Villa.
-
Awesome day...in fact, probably the second best day I've had supporting the Villa in my adulthood coming second only to the '94 Cup Final.
-
I was watching the last few minutes with tears in my eyes. Rarely have I been so happy following the Villa.
-
One of the wildest celebrations I've ever seen when the Delph goal went in. Brilliant couple of months amidst a sea of Blues.

Completely agree
-
It was a brilliant day, shame we don't get many like that.

Agreed. As a big a cock as he was before, during and much more so after, the Liverpool game, Albion, Everton to name three that immediately come to mind were excellent days.
-
Great day for me to share with VCTM jnr - One of our best Dad and Lad experiences together - Living up here on Merseyside made it even sweeter.
Jnr had a swagger about him when he went back into school.
-
Superb day, dancing around the living room naked at one point here in Tokyo. My now wife realised that day that she was going to marry a madman, and just how much Villa mean to me.
-
Stevie G we're havin' a party, sorry you can't be there.

Happy days. BT Sport show the Liverpool goal on one of their adverts for their channel, I see it every day on a screen in the window of the local TV shop. Never mind that we scored two and won that day, they have to show the Liverpool goal.
-
All downhill from that day really....couple of weeks later was 6-1 at Southampton, the cup final and then untold misery ever since.

OMG that is a very worrying image :)) But yes a wonderful day and night it was for me in London.

Wonderful, wonderful day.

Haha. Next time, it'll have to be in that Hobgoblin pub in Tokyo, Aftab!

In case any of you are ever at a loose end in London....
The John Lewis shop on Oxford street has a tv section on the 5th floor. The goals from that game are on a constant loop of a couple of minutes or so on one widescreen tv. Made all the better by a couple of our (Chico and me) mates being in the front of the Liverpool section right by the subs bench - they were warned about celebrating after our first goal.

Currys pc world have it on in their stores as well. I was in one in Catford a few months ago and every TV was showing the game in ultra hd. You could see our mates. Most of the Liverpool fans were ok but the stewards got a bit funny when they celebrated

One of those rare times when we seemed really up for it on the big occasion. We were far the better team and they took the lead and in truth I was thinking we'd go on to lose then.
But we kept on battering them.
When I re-watched it on TV later on it was particularly sweet that the commentators were talking about how great it would be for Stevie G to win the Cup in his last Liverpool match (for about the billionth time that season as I recall) just as we scored to make it 2-1.
Shame we didn't really turn up for the Final, although weirdly we did nearly get to half-time at 0-0.

Our best performance for many years. Fought for everything on the pitch but we had quality about us aswell when we had the ball. I'll never forget the roar on about 89 minutes; our end let out a massive, rousing roar and everyone started bouncing up and down. Another thing that stands out is how quiet the 'famous travelling Kop' were, outsung from start to finish.

I quite enjoyed this image post match:

There was a lot of soul searching and questioning by Liverpool fans after that game as to why their support was so subdued.
I must admit every Liverpool fan I spoke to before and after that game was absolutely decent and, to a man, generous in defeat ( but not to Sterling and Rogers)

And 3 square meals a day.
