Good stuff Dave. Despite the good results over the past few weeks, two quite clear questions are emerging:
1) Why does our ambition regress when we take the lead in games?
2) if Kodjia isn't there, where are the goals going to come from?

And which three players are you happy to keep in a (theoretical) Premier League Villa XI?

I'd also go with Amavi, and possibly Adomah.

Chester
Grealish
Good idea for a new thread.

Great article again Dave. My main beef is that SB says after every match that we haven't played well enough etc.etc., which is great but, how long is it going to take him to realise that we need to keep attacking and closing down opponents further up the pitch. We can all see the problem so, can only conclude that it's his own tactics. Look at Norwich, no problem banging 7 past Reading. Will we do the same? Doubt it as, to score goals you can't be playing in your own half virtually all match

At the moment, we're not losing, bar the reverse at Huddersfield.
That belief will be giving everyone confidence as to progress. Aren't you reassured that we just don't concede many and are so hard to beat? We all (Almost all of us) want free-flowing football that just means we score more than the opposition but at the moment, let's just show everyone that we are resolute and strong.

The trouble is, doesn't really look to me that the players have the belief but, that may be because of SB's tactics. I know from my playing days that, trying to hold on to a 1 goal lead, ended up in tears as much as happiness over the long run. What I'm really trying to say is that with SB's arrival, we have now been on 2 winning streaks but, couldn't buy a win in Jan/Feb. In reality, I haven't seen any difference in our style of play since SB arrived so, don't really think his style of caution will change. Just hope it's enough next season but, sadly, I don't think it will be. There are times, depending on who your opponents are, that you actually take the game to them.
