The main question is, do I start the Match-Thread for this game even though I'll be 84 miles away as the crow flies ?

The loss to Huddersfield seems to suggest that my recent superpowers might only work when I'm sat in a car park close to the venue.

Burton to be worn-out after trying to keep Noocassil at bay last night. Codg to be shackled for once. 0-0.

Yes, you and I have been on fire as of late. You doing match threads, me cleaning up with a victorous, glory hunting post match thread. And I'm thousands of miles away so that 84 miles nonsense doesn't work. Get your act together Mr Sox.

2-0 to the Villa, The Hardys to return and score both goals. Jeff to somehow fall through the dugout.

I remember a game at the start of the season when Bristol City won there. Kodjia ran the defence ragged even if Abraham was getting the goals. I will go for an away win.

I'm not so sure. They're called Albion so by rights they should be shit.

Away to Burton- the fixture that, back last July was being used to demonstrate the depths to which we had sunk. Now we are here it feels like we're properly building the foundations for progress next season. We'll stutter occasionally and this looks like a draw to me.

We have to win this one to get 60 points and keep the hope lingering on.
Leeds & Preston...Norwich & Reading all play each other, while Sheffield Wed are home to Noocastle & Derby are at the Sty.
It's been said here previously but they will be leg weary ( hopefully ) after last nights game and they don't have the luxury of a big squad. Either way, they're no pushovers.
Interesting to see how Jackson Irvine plays, he could be one to watch for us......Godzvilla!

If the game at Villa Park is anything to go by, they'll be very good going forward and poor at the back.

I'll go for 2-2 (hopefully Kodija gets at least 1 of the goals).

Need to keep an eye on Irvine in the midfield, runs all day, good in the air and has a great finish on him.

Kodjia was at the Villa store yesterday with I presume his girlfriend. One of the fans told him "don't be thinking about going anywhere in the summer" He just grinned.

I hope there's no more 'Burton fucking Albion' rubbish anywhere in this club. Every game, every opponent, demands total respect and full vigilance. We are only as good as we prepare to be.

Still, I hope we fuck the fuckers.

Good player him, wouldn't mind us having a look in the summer as imagine he's on low wages and low release clause given Burton signed him from Ross County. Hardworking and gets forward and scores, Ian Taylor lite.

Then we'll give him a 5 year deal on 40k a week and he'll lose all motivation!

He was probably just grinning because he knows he's going to Magaluf for a fortnight in the summer.

A few months ago when people were discussing hom potentially leaving, I would have advocated taking £20m or so for him as I didn't really see him as thevsort who a side could be built around.  Over the last few weeks, however, I think he has definitely improved in the lone striker role and his all round game is getting better.  I think it would have to be a very good bid before we even consider selling now.

'Morning folks! 'Tis a spectacularly sunny start to the day down here on the saaarrrfff coast, so I'm feeling particularly optimistic about today's visit to the mighty Burton Albion. I haven't forgotten the chants of 'Aston Villa, we're coming for you' that rang around the cavernous Pirelli Stadium last season, so I hope our mob approach today with girded loins & steely hearts from the get-go. Any road up, I've gone for a cheeky 0-0: & mutcho rejoicing from the Villa hordes braving the long trek  up T' A38. UTV!

If anyone wants to make any guaranteed money you can lay Villa for promotion (i.e. make the opposite bet) at odds of 100 on Betfair so whatever the outcome you will make a profit.

Bet £10 @ 250  = £2,500 (winnings plus stake back)
Lay £20 @ 100 = £1,980 (loss)

Profit = £520

If unbelievably we don't get promoted you will make £20 on the lay (less 5% commission on betfair) minus your £10 on Sky. You will also need £1,980 in betfair to cover the potential loss.
