I know a win makes us feel like we could win the league and a defeat certain relegation but the last few games, even Huddersfield apart from one moment of falling asleep, has allowed us to get a head of steam to go into the final part of the season.
With 9 games left I could really see us getting a minimum of 20 - 24 points
Wigan W
Norwich W
QPR W
Burton W
Reading W
Fulham L
Blues W
Blackburn W
Brighton W (as I think they will be already promoted)
-
If things had gone to plan and these fixtures were the promotion run-in, I think that we'd be quite confident
-
Was thinking the same - even accounting for one balls up (choice between first 10 or games during Jan / Feb) I still think we would be there or there abouts
Keep the majority of this team together next year and I can see records being broken ;)
-
we will not lose again this season.

Have you just woken up from a long deep sleep? I'll take that bet ;-)
-
We're bound to lose a couple but it is possible we could go unbeaten. I can't see it though.
-
One thing's for certain, we should be going all out to smash everything in front of us. Anything less isn't acceptable.
-
That remains to be seen.
-
with the simply absurd number of injuries we won't go unbeaten in my opinion. But even so, a very decent points haul will only serve to frustrate us more revealing what could have been possible this season from a very average league. The rest of this season is all about setting us for the next and ensuring we make no mistakes in our attempts to get back up.
-
If I had to guess I'd go for about 17 points which, given the state we were in only last month, would be a decent enough run in.
-
Reading Fulham and Brighton are all hard games. The rest we should be expecting to win.
-
I think we'll end up 6 points off the play off places - which will be very frustrating to say the least.
-
I'm steering well clear of this. After our signings I had us down to beat Brentford, Ipswich and Barnsley.

We've beaten 2 and the other we should have. More difficult fixtures on paper but still winnable.
-
I still do not want to make the playoffs this season, too soon and we need a season of confidence building before going up. We however need to dominate this league from the start next season, no hint of a play off requirement, automatic promotion only; which should give the resilience required to make our comeback to the top league a sustainable proposition.

We're going to finish seventh and miss out by s single point.

If we had 10 more points on the board (so 58 points) I'd massively fancy us to finish in the top 6 with our run in. But we're not so there we are.
Would expect at least another 4 wins this season, hopefully some away.
64 points and 9th or 10th I reckon.
-
It would be amazing if not impossible to win our remaining 9 games, unfortunately this year 75 points probably wouldn't be enough to get us up anyway . As has already been written on here how the F#*k did we contrive to lose against Brentford, Forest, Ipswich and Barnsley in quick succession ? Aaaaagh !

Fucking hell, have we turned into Barcelona?

If we lose to Fulham I want Bruce out.

Don't get me wrong, I think Villa should win against those teams too. Just that we can't rock up expecting to beat them.

15-16 points

These threads are a jinx. I felt confident that we would finish in style and end up eighth or ninth with swashbuckling football convincing Villa fans to buy season tickets in record-breaking numbers.
Now this thread has come along we will lose every game. Twelve-nil. Relegated on last day of season.
-
even Mr Pessimism of Pessimism wouldn't be that pessimistic.

I reckon it'll be worse than that. We will field nine ineligible players and suffer a pitch invasion in which Tony Xia knocks out the ref with a solid gold figurine of Sid Cowans, and as punishment the FA will send us back in time to relive the 2015-2016 season.

I still do not want to make the playoffs this season
It's your lucky year then sport.
