6-1
Adomah (3' minutes),Bannan (40' minutes og), Hourihane (50' minutes pen), Kodja (88' minutes, 90'+1 minutes pen), Davis (90'+5 minutes)
Bannan (62' minutes)
-
I've stopped making predictions but we will win 2-1
-
1-0 Win to us for me.
-
Last time we played Wednesday at home in the league, was that when Dublin broke his neck? I still feel bad for the stick I was giving him in that game for not trying
-
I won't be there so we'll win.
-
I had already taken it as read that we'd lose on Tuesday and Saturday but after encouragement from Tuesday I'm hoping for a win.
I know, I know but you've got to have something haven't you?
-
scrappy affair will win by a single goal.
-
6-1
Adomah (3' minutes),Bannan (40' minutes og), Hourihane (50' minutes pen), Kodja (88' minutes, 90'+1 minutes pen), Davis (90'+5 minutes)
Bannan (62' minutes)
And all our goals will be crap apart from Kodjia's free-kick on 88'.
-
I'm coming up to Brum on the usual train this weekend, but going to Coleshill's FA Vase semi final. This should guarantee I'll miss a brilliant win for Villa.

I won't be there because i'm at the Bromsgrove semi. I really hope you batter South Shields, sadly I think a South Shields v Cleethorpes final is most likely.
-
Villa 2 Wednesday 0
Ideally with their band turned away at the gate
-
I won't be there so we'll win.
What are you doing on 18th? Are you coming to Wrexham Wigan or going to Cleethorpes for the second leg ?
-
Someone's due a good hiding....so nervy 1-1 draw it is then as, we haven't gelled yet. Expecting that to happen anytime in the next decade!!
-
If Amavi and Adomah play well we win...2-0
-
6-1

Bannan (62' minutes)
And all our goals will be crap apart from Kodjia's free-kick on 88'.
And we will have played with 9 men behind the ball all game and each goal resulted from a hoof.
-
With 10 out, we probably should lose this one but I'm hopeful of a 1-1 draw.
-
They seem to be a well put together team and a club that deserves and has my respect. I think we should have enough about us to cause them problems but will anything go in for us! I say yes. 2-1 Villa, in a proper fixture.
-

Cheers PWS. Hope it's an all-Midland final, but I think you're right. Although there are a lot of people out there hoping they get a battering.
I did look into a nine hour round trip to South Shields for the second leg, but the two hour journey from Euston to Wigan won out.
Good luck Bromsgrove.
-
John E did South Shields away in the last round with Newport Pagnell. It's a bloody long journey to see your side take a gubbing.
Despite already seeing off a few teams from the higher level, Cleethorpes are a whole different kettle of fish (ho ho), if it was 1 game at the Vic i'd give us a decent chance but over two legs I expect we'll be well beaten. I think the same applies to Coleshill. Went there 2 or 3 years ago with Sporting for an FA Cup prelim game before you changed the pitch.
We're expecting a near 3500 sell out at the Vic, Cleethorpes only holds 1200 so away tickets are like rocking horse crap so i'll probably do Wigan as well if I can get a ticket.
-
Coming up to brum for this with my Wednesday supporting neighbour. Looking forward to showing him a proper stadium. Please win Villa.
-
2-0.
-
I don't think we've gelled yet, but we're getting better 1-1
-
If I know anything, and I don't, we'll smash 'em 2-1.
-
We always beat Wednesday at home in the 2nd division. Played 4 Won 4.

Villa 2 Wednesday 0
Ideally with their band turned away at the gate
Best result so I'm going with this!
-
Think Bruce said none of the injuries will be back, so the line up and bench will be same as Tuesday. We might edge it but with limited options from the bench if things start to go tits up I think a draw is more likely. 2-2
-
I am still thinking I would sooner stop at home and watch the rugby.
-
We'll be within five points of the playoffs at the end of the season. So, whatever result contributes to that.
Disappointing, but we'll move on.
-
Was the last time we lost to these at home when Les Sealey (RIP) contrived to save a header and then fall over the line with it, then run around like a lunatic afterwards trying to tell everyone that it hadn't happened!
I remember it got a bit 'naughty' on Witton Lane after and I saw a man (unknown who he supported) attempt a flying kick that Bruce Lee would have been proud of. Alas he failed to connect with his target and fell flat on his arse to much merriment of those trotting towards the bus / motor vehicles / train station.
We will win......
-
A few of these wouldn't go amiss
-
Fk me we were good back then!
-
Fk me we were good back then!
To be fair, so were they. I don't think they'd lost for ages before that game, but had it not been for Chris Woods we'd have put 5 or 6 past them.
Pound for pound probably the best Villa performance I've witnessed.
-
6-1
Adomah (3' minutes),Bannan (40' minutes og), Hourihane (50' minutes pen), Kodja (88' minutes, 90'+1 minutes pen), Davis (90'+5 minutes)
Bannan (62' minutes)
Your prediction is good but I think only 4 minutes of injury time will be added on Saturday. So 5-1.
-

92/93 BFR team is the best footballing Villa side in my lifetime.
-
Should have won the league......

Look at the movement
Look at the passing
Look at the finishing
Jesus we are a pathetic shadow of that over the last few years.
-
How many of our current side would get in that Villa side from 92/93? Probably none is my guess. I wonder how the relative player salaries stack up between now and then, adjusted for inflation?
-
Kodjia would just about get the nod over McAvennie.
-
I think more than anything it shows the power of sky marketing to keep rebranding the product as each year being better - you cannot tell me football today is any better than it was back then. Not just us but the games were more exciting than today where most teams can cancel each other out
Agreed also that BFR team should have won the league
-
be interesting to see how Rhodes plays tomorrow ; I wonder how serious Bruce was in wanting to buy him, only to turn to Hogan?
-
I'll be missing this game as I too am going to Coleshill Towns FA Vase Semi-Final, which is a shame because I have just found out that a good friend of mine is linesman at Villa Park (Derek Eaton)

you could maybe say that football in general is better to watch now. I seem to recall watching many turgid Monday night matches in the pub back then. Villa though- light years in difference between then and now, sadly.
-
that first goal...

We need you there on his side of the pitch!
-
How quick defence, or midfield possession is turned into a Villa attack. Phenomenal. Even just watching the highlights above, that Wednesday side from back then would batter our current side into oblivion, waddle and warhurst would tear us a new one.
-
1-3 defeat.
Villa are back hello hello.
-
Villa 2 Wednesday 0
Ideally with their band turned away at the gate
I was at Hillsborough earlier this season and they have no band because the fans thought they were annoying, so they got rid of them. They do, however, have an annoying drummer.
-
1-1
-
Gone for a draw too mate- 1-1, same as you.
-
And a draw from me, wasn't expecting much from Tuesday and don't expect much from tomorrow.
-

They also had David Hirst back then, who had it not been for a number of pretty serious injuries, would have been one of the top strikers around at that time.
Big test for us tomorrow.
-

What's that sport they're playing, then?

Fergie tried to sign him a few times for Man United I seem to remember?
-
We were another level then. If that team played any of our teams over the last 6 years it would look like a cub's dad v lads game.

Well, certainly, considering that the majority of that early 90s team must be in their late 40s / early 50s now ... ;-)
-
I just want to walk towards Villa park with a sense of optimism and its been a long time since I've done that.
Sadly no walk of optimism tomorrow either, a draw at best.
-
You can always go online to www.mearnsfm.org.uk for coverage of the game brought to you from the H&V match thread content. The music is ace, the presenter's an amateur and the dead air lasts forever. Community radio at it's best/worst.

I know! My wife and daughter know who to look out for though
-
I'm going for 1-1 to the villa

6-1

Bannan (62' minutes)
I thought you were serious till I saw 2 goals in injury time. I think the last time that happened the Titanic sank on the same day.
-
I've got a funny feeling we'll see goals galore tomorrow, don't know why because it has all the makings of a low score draw.
I'll go 3-2 to the mighty Villa.
-
Us 0 Them 2.
-
Can't see us winning, we don't against better teams. 1-1 or 0-1
-
We are definitely due to give someone a spanking. We even played well in midweek.
0-2 reverse.
-

Saunders used get into great positions, good team player
why did it take until Brian Little's time for Yorke to thrive?

dont remember if he did mate.
Is it on the telly over there- you watching it with Foody?

I like your style. I might have a little bet on that.
-
2-0.
-
2-0 home win. Villa striker to score twice, wonderful flowing moves.
Sheff Wed keeper has a stormer and keeps the score respectable.

Yes David Hirst was a great player, or always seemed it when he played against us. There was quite a few very decent English forwards about in his time which hindered his chances of more England caps.
-
Looking forward to seeing Bannan play, I think he is just the type of player we lack at the moment, the one who drops deep and collects the ball from centre halves and brings it that 15/20 yards into the midfield to save on the heave forward and chase.
Thing I am enjoying in Championship is virtually every game is competitive, expect the same today, odd goal in 3 wins it for me - hopefully 2-1 to us...Lansbury & Baker
-
Come on you Villa boys from your fans in Albufeira!!! 3pts please
-
Come on villains back to winning ways please. If results turn out well for us we could move up a nice 3 places
-
2-0 home win, don't care who scores.
-
Looking forward to seeing Bannan play
I never imagined that I would ever see this comment. Truly testing times.

I've heard the club are looking at issuing trigger warnings before games.

Ah ha cash only an old Ellis trick!

I can remember looking at some attendance figures when you could not move in the Holte End and there must have been 10000 more than the attendance figures stated
