A lot of improvement needed. He's been like a shit Brett Holman so far.

I doubt he had too many options with the injuries and Bacuna's suspension.

I should imagine it's a bit like choosing whether you want chronic piles or a dose of the crabs. I would imagine his prime thoughts are about getting Hogan and Green fit so that he doesn't have to choose in future.

Grealish hasn't done enough when he's started & he's disappeared altogether as the games have gone on. We all know about his ability, we've talked about it for 3 seasons. Unfortunately I don't think he has the last gear needed to enable his undoubted talent to shine.

I haven't seen much of him except 2 games in the Euro's live (haha - yes against England) and he works his socks off, and the Icelandic (who are very critical of players) rate him as one of their best. Give him time - getting on players backs is not unknown for us - but when the f... has that EVER helped?

To be honest, I'd rather have seen Amavi given a chance a bit further forward.  We need some pace in the final third.

He's just not a more forward player no matter what people think. His defending needs more work but he has no attacking instinct whatsoever. he can't skin a man, hasn't a trick, and doesn't look to hit the by-line. At least one of those three and you've got a player who may be able to push further forward. In the admittedly relatively few games that I've seen him live Amavi offers none of these, but does offer a decent cross. he's a defender.

I wouldn't play him in the attacking three in this formation but I would play him left midfield in a 4-4-2. He's the best crosser of the ball we've had since young and I think he definately has it in him to beat a player either by pace or skill. He's not outright attacking enough for this front three though.

Yes, but even a wide midfielder has to show some attacking intent more than Amavi has. I accept Beckham didn't have the 3 criteria that I mentioned but what he did have was world class delivery.

I think in terms of the laws of probability, the chances of Grealish being presented with the exact same chance on the exact same blade of grass at the exact same time if he'd been playing ahead of Thor and that he'd scored that chance must be somewhere in the billions to one. Add that to the fact that there are still 70 odd mins to play for Thor to make up for it and I really wouldn't be quite so pleased with myself yet.

We should be winning as we've missed three sitters, but good lord it's made my eyes bleed.

We keep bypassing the midfield looking for an early Kodjia run and we're only serving to isolate him. No tempo to the play and you wouldn't know Hourihane or Lansbury was on the pitch save for the latter constantly hitting aimless balls away.

We need to press, up the tempo and push Hourihane higher up. These are awful but we look woeful too, despite the fact it should be 3-0.

A new low, the appearance of Billy Joel in a match thread.

Billy Joel is superb. One of my favourite gigs last year was seeing him live at Madison Square Garden

A friend of mine played bass on one of his hits, he used the money he was paid to finance some Philly punk bands records. That's my favourite thing about Billy Joel.

First three league wins without conceding since December 2009. Christ.
So really, despite the performance there can be no complaints; credit where it's due to Bruce and the team

Oh come on you know their will always be people complaining for something :(

I wasn't aware I was complaining?

To be fair 3 clean sheets (while taking all three points) isn't exactly the easiest feat.

Three points is three points and much welcomed, the big test is the next two games

I feel for Hogan but the injury could be a blessing in disguise. The 2 of them together was never going to work, Kod is better on his own up top.

so what to do when he is fit ?

There was a discussion on WM in the week where Rego said that he was of the opinion that Bruce favours Kodjia in the wide left position and not as a central striker.
