Now I feel old.

Why would anyone want to commemorate that night?

The bad times make the good times so much better :)

There have been a few X rated games against our inferior neighbours in the 50 years I've been supporting Villa - IMO this game and the one in October 1983 were the worst two.

Funny you should mention those 2 games. October 15th 1983, when we played them at home and Blake headbutted Steve McMahon was my birthday. March 3rd is my son's birthday. Both dates commemorated by violent encounters at home to Blues.

That was the game where Alan Green who was i believe (Unfortunately, i was there so never actually heard him) commentating that night for BBC 5Live later described the Atmosphere as "Vile".

I was there. It was vile. Getting set upon by a group of knuckledraggers outside the Newt pub (my cousin and her husband were running the place at the time) just topped off the evening.
They tried to set fire to my scarf with it still around my neck, punched me in the back of my head as I tried to walk away, and generally kicked the shit out of me and my mate. We were only 20, and they were fully grown thugs. Dreadful evening.

Standard for them.
