Title: Xia and Bruce
Post by: alftitimus on February 16, 2017, 08:35:30 AM
Okay I'm an infrequent poster. But an ST holder.

2 Topics, and I can't see the point of re-posting them in their dedicated threads. ;D

Mr Xia

Now it is clear that he is NOT a Doctor of anything - let alone "Gardening".
CNN in December, but no post on here about it  :-[
Just silence.

Pre-December he claimed that NO PARACHUTE money had been spent ~ yet rolls out more millions...from where?

Just HOW MUCH has MR Xia pumped into us ?

And if he is the Business Wizard he claims to be...how on Earth is he or his Companies, still solvent?
If this is how he conducts himself ?

I'm grateful that he is throwing money at us...long time since we've seen that    :D

BUT...if Mr Xia is the "Wonderkid" the "Economic-Superstar" he wants us to accept...
the saviour of Indian Football..the 'Keynote Speaker' at International Fairs...he says.... when do we see his WISDOM ?
His ACHIEVEMENTS ?
His BUSINESS ACUMEN ?

AT VILLA

Instead of Mr Xia's self-promotion, instead of his ego...how about someone telling him about
the Football League restrictions on spending?
WE - Villa- have to include Lerner's last spends alongside Xia's 'money-down-the-drain'
ego-trip, when the Football League do their sums, come May.
Did anyone explain that to him ?

WE - Villa - are up the creek, without Promotion. A 2nd year in this disgraceful League will see heavy fines and transfer restrictions.
Xia has spent too much WITHOUT knowledge of English Football.
An Egocentric idiot - imo.

BRUCE:

Always had his son in his dressing room. ;D
Now he has no player...a Keane, a Bremner a Keown etc, prepared to head-butt walls and players to enforce 'His Masters Voice'.

Well rewarded players are not going to 'break-a-leg' for Steve, and Steve has no player in his dressing room to suggest that they do...

So it's tactics and 'Game-Plans'  :D

Back to the Dim-Tim philosphy  ;D

Steve is probably here for the Redundancy Payment if all went wrong.

A future England Manager at one time...floundering around in the bottom half of the Championship???

Unable to motivate players and unable to keep us supporters / fans / customers.... in the Stadium.

Infrequent poster, daily reader. OK  :)

These things need to be said, I feel.

I thought American news channels were unreliable. Remember, according to them Birmingham is a city full of Muslims where white people fear to tread.

My eyes! If you read H&V on a daily basis you would be aware that lavish use of 'smileys', colour, bold and italics are not common or encouraged. But you know this, don't you?

I don't see Xia encouraging any cult of Xia anywhere.

Bruce has said he doesn't "do tactics".

Sorry, Im not sure if there is a particular reason to go easy on that original post but (In my opinion) what an absolute cartload of drivel. Xia has put people in place with knowledge and experience to turn things around, that takes time. It is a calculated gamble based on us getting up in two years, PL revenue will sort the rest. If he had polled the fans to say "im either going to invest heavily on a gamble of us going up in 2 years or alternatively we will go with what we have and maybe invest 5-10m in the playing staff" what would you have said?
If we dont go up in 2 years then we may well be stuck and have to lose some of the high earners but based on the state of the club i dont see what the other option was. I very much doubt you know more about the risks associated with FFP than Xia does. I remember reading that the  fines are paltry and we could probably pay them  by selling one good player.
Criticise Bruce's performance but he is not here for a pay check, he is on a rolling contract. As for not motivating players and supporters, wrong again. Everyone was motivated when we went on a run, we are just a very fragile, volatile club which is proven every time we experience a setback -5,10,15 games to recover and gain stability again.

The change and upheaval our club has undergone is completely unprecedented and we knew it wouldnt be easy. There were a huge amount of fans who didnt think we would go up this season regardless of the investment, some even predicted we were in such a mess we would drop again. What is happening really isnt that much of a shock

A 2nd year in this disgraceful League

It's us that are disgracing this league with our contributions up to now, try telling fans from the likes of Barnsley and Huddersfield its a disgraceful league. I think your attitude is somewhat pompous.

Title: Re: Xia and Bruce
Post by: mattjpa on February 16, 2017, 12:32:26 PM
Just seen that QPR were fined 8m for breaching FFP, Bournemouth 7.6m. When we have a wealth of attacking players (Kodjia, McCormack, Hogan, Hepburn Murphy, Green, Grealish) with a combined value of conservatively 50-60m it really wouldnt be too much of a big deal. TBF, we could probably cover it by selling Veretout and Gil...

I stopped reading the opening post when the Championship was referred to as "this disgraceful league" - the kind of typical arrogant comment that's really getting on my tits from Villa fans this season, particularly on here.
When you think about the competitiveness, the size of the crowds, stadia, desire of so many fans of many clubs to travel up and down the country in big numbers week in, week out following their team away from home, quality of football being played by most teams, tv coverage it gets etc etc - the Football League Championship is one of the best leagues in the world.
And the fact that a big wealthy club like us are discovering that it'll take a bit of bloody hard graft to get out of rather than just being able to buy our way out makes it even better in my opinion.
Lack of respect fucking annoys me.

Having a season ticket doesn't 'entitle' you to a view any more than not having a season ticket. But if you are going to have a view then you should be prepared for some feedback, especially if you post in an annoying style as  alfititmus does.

An entertaining and over-dramatic piece of utter gibberish. It's the H & V equivalent of William Shatner 'singing.' Most amusing, and mostly absurd. Not quite sure how a league itself can be 'disgraceful' unless it is riddled with very poor conduct? Ha ha

I have been arrogant about it and your post made me re think how I have been coming across. Thanks for putting it that way. I still think Aston Villa should always be in the highest league there is, because I think we are the best. However in future I will try and avoid sneering at the Championship.

As you rightly say, it is a fine and exciting league with clubs that have their own heritage and fans. Good post, I appreciate being corrected.

Sorry to rub it in, but DK could have added how good it is in the Championship to have visiting fans who are proper fans not plastic, arrogant glory hunters that gravitate towards London and the North West.

I would also add from the teams I have watched us play this season that the days of the Championship being a league you could spend or kick your way out of are becoming history.
