I would never want to get knocked out of the FA Cup by choice. Whoever we get I'll hope we go for it.
I'd rather win the FA Cup than getting promoted.
Stourbridge.

Half-and-half scarves all round innit Dave? ;-)

We will lose to Manchester United this season, as we do every season.
When was the last time this actually happened?
07/08.

Take every game as it comes. Isn't round 4 a clear day for Championship clubs and the team we are due to play on round 5 day may be involved in the cup anyway. By being knocked out in the 3rd round, it would just give another non-playing day which managers/players are not keen on.
MK Dons away would be a good one. Winnable, new ground and as many tickets as you want.
Home draw please. I want my free home cup game with my season ticket
Lower league teams currently through, Rochdale or Sutton at home for me. I like seeing us play sides i've never seen us play before.

I think cdbullyweefan is referring to the fact that Man Ure almost always beat us and the FA Cup is just another chance for them to continue the ritual humiliation even though we are now not in the same division.
On that basis, the relevant date is 16 April 2016.
Man U away. We'd get 10,000 like West ham did a few years ago when every tom dick and harry came out of the woodwork.Cov got whomped by Cambridge.
Failing that, Coventry or Blues at home. It's easy for me to say that from
The other side of the world! 😄

Give us a winnable away with a sizeable allocation just in it for the day out these days.mate- I hear ya. I flew half way round the world for it. Top day, shit match, embarrassing score. Nothing you can do.
After 2015 I am resigned to us never winning this competition in my lifetime can't galvanise any enthusiasm for 3rd round day since then.
Blackpoo
If we make it to the semi and we are drawn as the home side and having played every round away would that still be a free game for ST holders?

I want West Ham away. New ground, big allocation and winnable.
Chelsea got 5200 in the League Cup, and that was a restricted allocation.I want West Ham away. New ground, big allocation and winnable.
What would the allocation be for a cup game then? I thought it was less than 3000 for league games? and I'll be fucked if I have to make Lady Brady even richer than she already is.
Harket you!Anyone at home bar aha or bitters
We'll beat the Living fucking Daylights out of em
I've changed my mind from someone like Port Vale away, I want West Ham away. New ground, big allocation and winnable.

Promotion or an FA Cup win?
A giant killing, factually correct?
Promotion or an FA Cup win?
Maybe next year then, a promotion / FA Cup double?
Problem is it is okay to get beaten. It is quite another to get absolutely humped in front of the BBC TV watching audience. As Spurs will find out.
am sure it is one of the stick out ties - all I want is a 3pm Saturday game.

Sunday 12pm. Nailed on.
We need to concentrate on the league anyway.
Have they got any Africans,
Last chance to see the old White Hart Lane, no?Been there done that. Just another London shit hole. Tough game obviously but nothing to be scared of. Type of underdog game that Brucie will relish. We'll give them a good game and who knows? Could be our year 😀
Their capacity is reduced this season remember due to building work on their new stadium. Away allocation will probably be around 4000.

I'd forgotten about that
Stand by for a good threshing.
Stand by for a good threshing.2-1 Miller and Bale for them, Cropley for us.
Stand by for a good threshing.
When Leicester played there in the 3rd round last year tickets were £20.

how far have we really sunk to think a game at poxy Tottenham "not won the title since colour TV was invented" Hotspur is a big game?
I spotted that draw coming as well. Loads of shit left and I turned horrified to the wife and said "oh shit, it's going to be Spurs". The next two balls out.....

I went on the train there for the first time, a couple of seasons ago.
It is a good walk from the station to the ground but there are several pubs en route, obviously, the nearer to the ground you get, the busier they are. It made a change from approaching the ground from the opposite direction, it almost felt like a new ground. I think I preferred the train to coaches, if anyone is in two minds.

Every day of the week and twice on a Sunday. There's plenty of pubs around the Square Mile (albeit most will be closed at the weekend) pre-getting the train from Liverpool Street, a couple en route at Stoke Newington/London Fields and then a five minute walk from White Hart Lane station.

Crikey Dave. I'm almost tempted to go and I'm the biggest apathy when it comes to the 3rd round. When i went, I'm sure the station was Seven Sisters, which seemed like a 2 mile walk to the ground (jumped on the bus back afterwards)

That's the nearest tube. You can get an overground from Liverpool Street to White Hart Lane station which is a couple of mins walk to the ground. There's usually a big queue after the game (which is why we usually go to the irish Centre for a few - I say few, we were still there at chucking out time a couple of years ago) but it goes down quite quickly. Not as bad as the queue for the underground at Upton Park. Seven Sisters is a fair hike from the ground.

Yes, I agree the Haringey Irish Centre is very welcoming; they serve breakfast whatever time the k.o. is.
Its being shown live on BBC 1, 4pm kick offQuelle Surprise..
Liverpool v Plymouth v Newport County Sunday, January 8 (1.30pm)
I get that they put Man Utd on for viewing figures, but come on. Who apart from their fans wants to watch them play Reading at home? They'll win comfortably and it will be played out with no atmosphere.
Moving it to Sunday has ruined it for me. Wanted to go back to WHL before demolition. Can see a lot of people thinking the same, especially being sandwiched between two other away games. We'll take a couple of thousand max now it's on the box.
BT Sports
Manchester United v Reading Saturday, January 7 (12.30pm)
Spurs have contacted our club and requested that we accept a reduced allocation. They want us to take 3000 instead of 4000 so they don't have to relocate their season ticket holders.
Villa are 'considering' the offer and have contacted our away fans' group for their opinion. Personally I think 3000 would be plenty; on BBC, just after Christmas, sandwiched between two other away games and we'll lose. We wouldn't sell 4000.
That's a stupid decision, especially with cheap tickets.I'm not so sure..if it was a Saturday I think you may have a point but with 6 away games in 6 weeks I think people are going to prioritise the league games. I've been to 8 away games and with trips to QPR Cardiff and Wolves to come, I can't get motivated for this.
Can see why they 'only' took 3000. Sandwiched between Cardiff and Wolves, Sunday 4pm on TV, just after Christmas, no novelty factor and a record of some pretty awful followings there over the past ten seasons.
Has Mike Dean been confirmed as match referee?
We've only sold 655 so far. Knew the 3000 would be more than enough.

655 in Roman numerals is DCLV which, interestingly, is an anagram of LDV [Vans] if you lose the 'C'.
Not surprising they haven't sold many if they haven't even updated the website to say that they're available.
I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that, when looking for Villa ticket news, most people would go on to the Villa website, and click on section called "Ticket News". That's where the ticket news should be!

We'll sell out. A chance to go to aground we should be visiting once a year anyway? We'll sell out.

They are relegated the season we come up then? Blimey...
Correct. They leave White Hart Lane this season, they'll be playing at Wembley next season while their ground is being built. We'll sell out. A chance to go to aground we should be visiting once a year anyway? We'll sell out.

1740 sold from 2900. Good job we didn't take the 4000!

I'm hoping someone will have a few ideas on that. I need to get back to Euston. White Hart Lane station will get me to Liverpool Street and then I am thinking either walk or Uber onto Euston. Any better options would be appreciated though!

I have had a look at that. Do you know if there is a direct one to Euston on match days? The routes I have found all involve a couple of changes which is why I was leaning towards the train.

Your best bet is TFL route planner, which will give a few options. The 205 goes from Liverpool Street to Euston.
I'd like to take my hat off to each and everyone of you considering the timing, cost and the fact it's on TV , a ground we used to play at every season and our away form is shocking . Your support is brilliant even if our team at present aren't1740 sold from 2900. Good job we didn't take the 4000!
Can't say i'm too surprised. 4 away games inside 4 weeks is a lot on the pocket and it's on the tellybox.

We've sold out every weekend game this season, regardless of whether they've been Saturday or Sunday (or our "weekend" game switched to Friday).
Most haven't got as far as season ticket holders with one or two aways before selling out.
We will easily sell 3,000, and leave a number of our own fans who haven't yet met the criteria disappointed. It's small-time as fuck.
Just read elsewhere that Mike Dean is the ref for our game on Sunday.

Allocation reduced to 2500. 2094 sold.
Have just purchased mine; a nice local one living in north london.
Surprised anyone cares about seeing us get dicked by these spivs.
We shall see. The more of a pushover the Spuds think it will be, the better our chances. We will be a huge price and I will have a bit.
I would not be surprised to be the shock result of the round and beat them.
Surprised anyone cares about seeing us get dicked by these spivs. It's the FA Cup, of course we care. Tough draw to start the campaign of glory with but there's absolutely no reason why we can't fluke a win.
And the referee for this joyous occasion??Mike Dean
I wonder if Mike Dean has been working on his celebration for when spuds score at the weekend?
Allocation is 2900 again now, sold 2531.Incredible really
