It's lucky.

Turn H&V off during the Fulham game, please.

Our first away win in god knows how long was too much for the site to handle.

I was starting to fret - maybe an away win was just too much for it to handle.

Glad we're back!

Trying to follow the game on BBC Text Commentary is shite.

I think I preferred Ceefax.

BBC Radio Berkshire was somehow, serendipitously, free of the geographical blocking. Or maybe it's because I'm in West London. Anyway, I was alright, Jack.

Apologies to all, major problems with server.  I had to give up at 4am until in work this morning. Looks like problem was in an upgrade of Mysql but still investigating.

Used a combination of twitter and BBC text, was not great.

Can't remember the last time Villa made me so happy though when the page finally refreshed and I knew the whistle had been blown. Napoleon is often quoted as saying 'Give me lucky Generals', perhaps we have one in Bruce.

Be interested to read what the folk who saw it live think.

Anyway nice to see it back. Well done Martin.

I won't go there again. A silly place.

Having your own server means they are not interested in any of your software problems even when caused by their upgrades on server.

Still some errors about, but l will work my way through them.

Post any you see here so l can spot them.

It should be stable enough for now. l will have to do a fresh install at some point, but that should not take long and l will do it during the night.

If it comes and goes, it should be because l am doing small bits and pieces that need the dbase to not be in use, but not for long periods.

Unfortunately the upgrades buggered everything that used Mysql on the server, except Dave's shop!!!!

Thanks Martin! I was bereft.

Also beginning to be slightly loopy at the prospect of Guess The Crowd disappearing and so having to recreate the last set of divisions again.
All that adding up! Aaaargh!
Thank God and Martin it's back, unscathed and with a couple of days to go on GTC 7 Villa v Fulham!  Get your guesses in, Brucies are wild all week!

So, you'll gather that I'm more pleased than most that our lovely Villa home is back.  :)

Now I know how the Waltons felt when Grandpa left the bathroom heater plugged in and the house burned down. (Although it could also have been caused by John-Boy's pipe which he dropped on the carpet when Elizabeth was sleepwalking.)

In this case, it has to be Legion, somewhere in the mix. I don't buy this stuff about dedicated servers rejecting unsolicited upgrades. Upgrades are good and result in better seats.

Yes, I am deliriously happy, still, because WE WON!

For me Lou it was more like the night the stables at Brookfield Farm went up in flames and Grace perished trying to rescue the hosses while Dan struggled to get his trousers on, Doris was phoning the WI, Phil was hiding under the table and Jack Archer was in a lock-in at The Bull.  All on the night of the launch of ITV.

Me too at lunch time, absolutely horrible place.

I went there and TBAR - so cold, so empty....

I tried TBAR too. Oh my.

After 30 seconds I read "as long as we beat Blues, I don't really care about everything else".

It was more informative to look at our blank screen.

Morning All,

Good to be back, missed my " H & V fix" yesterday.  Like a few others, I dare say, I was panicking a tad yesterday.

A cup of tea is no good without a quick visit in here to see what's being discussed!

Yes, that's it. Blame me. All I did was click on the 'Do Not Click Here' virtual server button.

It was a lonely night in Spain last night without H&V. Even had to talk to the mother of my child - WTF

I had a similar struggle.

Why were you talking to el leon's wife?

I've had to do some work today I was so bored!

I had that predicament as well. Thanks to Coops on Facebook for his valid suggestion of having a tug instead.

Glad to be of help. Did you do it at your desk?

Oh, and thanks for all the hard work Martin, always appreciated.

Agreed. And I second PWS' assertion that all the non-Muppets should cough up.

Give the mods some advance notice though so they can delete all the threads slagging you off.

Apologies to both Peter Withe-inspired username holders.

The shock of being without H&V for a day was too much for me.

You need to get out more, Brian.

Identifying with the hosses. * nods sagely *

PWS, Tayls; do you know something you'd like to share with the group?
