Not sure about the formation being a sign of panic stations to be honest. As for Mickey Quinn, he's probably the worst broadcaster on Talksport and best ignored.

Very true Dave, draws are funny things and context is key. I'd also add that where you are repeatedly drawing from winning positions, rather than t'other way round, it's infinitely worse because you create the impression that you're vulnerable to pressure so teams keep attacking to the end. If some of those draws had come from gutsy fightbacks by villa then I suspect we'd be less concerned despite having the same inadequate points tally.
