7-9-1985 Blues 0, Villa 0
This was, as it turned out, my last visit to the sty. I actually took the daughters of the girlfriend I was with at the time (they were 14 & 12 and I was doing my utmost to teach them the Villa way). Sadly the relationship broke up a year later and that was that.
All I remember was Robert Hopkins getting stick and abuse throughout the game, but other than that I can't recall anything and perhaps the score said it all.
Any memories anyone ?

i remember a bloke on the packed terrace in front of me on his hands and knees looking for a lost contact lens
dont remember much of a largely dour game apart from we spent the second half lumping aimless high balls up to tony daley
after the game my mates dads new sierra had a brick bounced off his bonnet

I moved to London the following day.
The only thing I recall was the walk back to town with the main body of Villa fans and the occasional false spotting of Zulus.

I was there that day as well, awful game!

I preferred the 70's visits to St Andrews only on the basis of the extra amount of fans we had there.

Terrible game.A mate had got complimentary tickets in the seats. We got there and they were duplicates. Eventually the stewards moved us to the completely unoccupied area of seating opposite their kop. Acres of empty seats all around us-I've never felt so exposed at a match before or since!
