Gollini - Bacuna - Elphick (c) - Chester - Cissokho - Gardner - Westwood - Grealish - Ayew - McCormack - Gestede
Subs - Bunn - Baker - Richards - Amavi - Kozak - Green - Hutton
-
Kozak! Yes!
-
Midfield looks weak again.
-
Our official Twitter getting it wrong again having Gardner in the middle. It's not the midfield I was hoping for. I guess Jedinak's paperwork didn't come in or he just need to practice with the squad before being involved.
-
Seen a Twitter no Tish or Jedinak and Gardner starts.
If so, that has removed any confidence I had of winning.
-
Midfield looks weak again.
That's the immediate reaction though as soon as you read Westwood's name. Replace with Jedinak it feels better. Hopefully next week
-
Richards on the bloody bench again. Why?
-
Kozak!

If as predicted Derby play 4-1-4-1 I can see it being bullied. RDM is obviously thinking we'll spend all game attacking with Grealish, Ayew, Ross Mc and Rudy.
-
We have such a shit midfield. Derby are going to have to be proper shit to lose this one.
-
Didn't RDM say Jedinak was good to play this weekend less than 24 hours ago?
-
Westwood and Gardner? Oh dear.
-
Fuck is Gardner actually playing?
-
With Jedinak and Tish I thought we might get a draw out of this one or even sneak a win.
With that side, 3-1 Derby.
-
Sobering lineup, that.
-
What a load of shit. Can't see any result with that midfield.
-
Return of one of my favourite Villa bets,
Villa to be winning at half time, losing at full time, 28/1
An insurance policy against that most sickening of results
-
Fuck is Gardner actually playing?
When you said I thought what!? Looked again and thought shit, he is as well! What happened to Bola?
-
Derby to win, no danger.
-
Four of the bench are defenders.
-
That midfield is Blues
-
Jedinak no visa? Tshibola injured? Disappointing line-up. Still need more signings, at least one more in midfield.
-
That team has the whiff of Eric Black about it. Was confident of a win, now much less so.
-
Midfield looks weak. Very weak.
-
Precisely why any talk of selling Westwood is crazy.
He's no superstar but fuck me, that midfield would be even shitter without him.
-
Wow that midfield is going to get dominated
-
Can we not loan Kieran Clarke back and play him centre mid? Doesn't seem like the Jawdies are too crazy about him.
-
Was hoping to see Jedinak. Wasn't braced for Gardner
Agree, would be v surprised if we win now
It's not just that he's been so bad, it's that with four attackers you really need your midfield two to be great
-
Well that midfield is beyond feeble. Can't see us getting anything now tbh. At least we've got Jedinak to shore it up after today, but I'd have changed the shape today and put Amavi left mid.
-
If nothing else we will create chances and when we do we have to take them. Because we're not going to rely on that midfield providing any protection to our defence.
-
Mile Jedinak still awaiting clearance while Aaron Tshibola misses out through injury
-
Arguably out 3rd and 4th choice midfield pairing. Could be tough or the pressure of knowing they are 3rd and 4th choice could inspire.
-
Precisely why any talk of selling Westwood is crazy.
He's no superstar but fuck me, that midfield would be even shitter without him.
Here's a leftfield idea, but how about signing better players than him?
He's been on the books for four years now - 100+ appearances.
If he was going to turn into David Platt mkII or even just a vaguely competent and effective central midfielder we would have seen it by now.
-
With that line up we will either win 3-0 or lose 4-0. Loss looks more likely!

We need a squad.
Maybe he won't play when Tish and Jedinak are available, but when either are not, I'd rather Westwood played than Gardner.
-

Yes, or playing Hutton would make Bacuna an option as well.
-
Just as I was liking RDM , he comes up with that midfield .
Tish must be injured and can not believe the Jedi has not got clearance , he played last week ffs
-
they will win now wont they ?
-
Looking at that team and bench, we need 4/5 more in I think.
-

Tish is injured and Jedinak didn't receive clearance.
-
Mile Jedinak still awaiting clearance ...
Why does this always seem to take so long?!
-
With that line up we will either win 3-0 or lose 4-0. Loss looks more likely!
With that midfield it's probably best to go with MON tactics and bypass the midfield altogether and hoof it up to Rudi in the chance that he'll get a knock-on.
Now can somebody explain to me the logic of putting Richards on the bench?
-
Friggin' Cissokho as well ...
-

oh well not being Arsenal , we wouldnt get clearance
-

yep now Adama has threw his ferrari out the pram
-
That midfield looks terribly weak, even by Championship standards. I'd have gone with Hutton at right back and Bacuna in midfield instead of the hopeless Gardner. I now have a very bad feeling about this.
-
Looking at that team and bench, we need 4/5 more in I think.
Think you are spot on.
-
anyone 'watching' the game?
-
At least 1 decent midfield playmaker required, looking at that line up makes me less sure of my exciting 1-1 prediction, if we can win we go 6th, with that midfield all out attack required.
-
I just don't get why 4 successive managers (5 if you include Black) pick Westwood as first name on the team sheet. Hopefully RDM will change things once Jedinak and Tshibola are both available
-
reveals the paucity of the squad if one or two injured/not available, one or two toy throwers being told to jog on and the rest shite. Six in please before the window slams shut! good to see Kozak in though I was beginning to think we must have sold him.
-
I would still take our 11 over what they have.
-
Jayzus that midfield is so lightweight it could well just float away. The lack of depth in the squad laid bare.
-

yet we've spent a small fortune! The neglect!!!
-
Richards on the bloody bench again. Why?
Disturbing, how he continues to be given a pass into the squad while others are bomb squad(ed) beggars belief.
Four defenders on bench, two of them shit right backs. Green and Kozak untried really and Gardner starting.
Could be a high scoring game but think we will be ripped a new one in midfield
-

RDM is hardly helping the situation. I'd rather have Jordan Lyden or Veretout in the team, never mind on the bench.
-
Hopefully we actually take our chances to counteract that poor midfield.
2-3 will do me.
-
I can't believe we're going with that midfield, it's just asking to get overrun.
-
Like I say the spirit of Eric Black lives.
-
So much for the 'strong Spine' that RDM was going on about the other day. The pair of clowns playing in the middle of the park this evening don't amount to a thimble full of Sacral Fluid.
'Sake. >:(

Think about the logic of it:
Bacuna gets injured or pushed up to midfield you bring on Hutton.
Chester gets injured, you bring on Baker.
Elphick gets injured, you move Chester over to the right and bring on Baker.
Under what circumstances would you ever bring on Richards?
-
the rehabilitation of certain players would have certainly helped today
-
not created a lot but in control
-
I despair of not giving Veretout or Lyden a run out; maybe the former is just not psychologically fit.
-
ayew is very deep
-
They've got to somehow keep a cool head for two halves. Dunno how that's gonna happen but if they can, who knows?
-
Gollini should have done that on Tuesday ;)
-
what was that Rudy
-
Ooooh Rudy
-
How are you even a professional footballer.
-
Oh Rudy.....*shakes head*
-
What's happened to Tshibola?
-
What's happened to Tshibola?
injured
-
cissokho should have read that pass
-
That's 2 or 3 times now we've just knocked it too long
-
The guy behind RDM looks a bit stoned
-
What's happened to Tshibola?
injured
How bad? Hopefully not serious.
-
What's happened to Tshibola?
injured
How bad? Hopefully not serious.
Another drawback of dropping out the PL - can't look up injuries on Physioroom
-
not created a lot but in control
Where are you watching it?
-
we are getting some good tackles in
-
fuck me!
-
OHHH so close!
-
fuck woodwork
-
Oh fucks....close, wicked shot Ross.
-
Derby hardly bossing the midfield, they look weak in the centre and out wide.
-
doing alright here
-
What's happened to Tshibola?
injured
How bad? Hopefully not serious.
Still not like the days when you had teletext on and Club Call (filthy fibbing thieves) to rely on for info.
Another drawback of dropping out the PL - can't look up injuries on Physioroom
-
McCormack is a lovely little player isn't he.
-
Free header for Rudy
-
Free header for Rudy
Met it well, a bit far out to trouble. But run and delivery good.
-
Unlucky for Ross hitting the bar, was fantastic play by Grealish in the build up. Good chance from the corner there as well but a bit too far out to score direct.
-
come on villa
we should beat these
-
McCormack would be a very good player in the Premier league. Having seen him 3-4 times now, hes quality. Carson made a great save there though.
Again though, like in earlier games, we are not getting the luck. Hitting the bar etc. We need to start getting a few of those, a few of the 50/50s dropping for us.
-
Nice work again by Jack
-
Playing very well here. Need to make the most of it.
-
You can see they've just told Jack and Jordan to just run, run, run with the ball and take us up the pitch.
-
we should beat these
They don't look very good do they?
-
Playing very well here. Need to make the most of it.
It's precisely what was being said vs Huddersfield. We played some lovely stuff and should have been out of sight but got bitten in the balls in the end. Need to convert these chances today.
-
Just out of interest, do they have goal line technology in the Championship?
-
Jack really needs to work on his shooting - scuffed it again
-
Aye, surprised at Derby. Look like they've had xanax for the pre match meal.
If this continues, I'm Sure Pearson will have them fired up for the second half, so lets try and cash in now.
-
Unlucku Jack, slight scuff but keep it up.
-
Another good position. Grealish had little option though, as McCormack moved, but Gestede and ayew were static.
-
wrong choice Jack especially with his weak shot
-
Aye, surprised at Derby. Look like they've had xanax for the pre match meal.
If this continues, I'm Sure Pearson will have them fired up for the second half, so lets try and cash in now.
That is the worry. We are still adjusting to 2 games a week too.
-
Kozak coming on for Gestede???
-
Rudy off, Libor on.
-
kozak to score the winner
-
Libor!
Scored a couple against Derby U23's didn't he this week?
-
Is Gardner playing, barely touched the ball. Villa bossing this.
-
Libor lives
-
Gestede injured. Libor on.
-
Rudy's hamstring by the looks of it.
-
Kozak!
-
C'mon Libor
-
Who?
-
Playing well here, and now we're bringing a decent striker on!
-
we should beat these
They don't look very good do they?
with Tish and Jedi would have been easy 3 pts
-
I hope Kozak hits the ground running, before his horrendous injury problems he started off well IMO couple years ago.
-
Come on Kozak, love see that emphatic celebration of yours
-
Hope it's nothing serious but I'm glad to see Kozak on, I think he'll be good in this league if we give him a chance.
-
might save us some money if Kozak can bag some
-
How does the ref see that as an arm to the face, give a free kick and then not book him?
-
Somebody needs to stick the ball in the net. Kozak or anyone to be honest.
-
The one thing Libor knows is where the back of the net is.
-
Somebody needs to stick the ball in the net. Kozak or anyone to be honest.
Yeah, we don't want another Huddersfield
-
I like Kozak, he hasn't had anything like enough of a chance to prove himself, but what I've seen before, I like.
-
Libor is pretty poor, bound to score the winner..with a Gardner assist!
-
Gardner is really, really poor. Need another centre mid still.
-
I like Kozak, he hasn't had anything like enough of a chance to prove himself, but what I've seen before, I like.
I think he's deeply rubbish. Makes Gestede look mobile and skilful.
-
Gardner is really, really poor. Need another centre mid still.
Has had pretty much zero impact in the game.
-
Kozak is even less mobile than gestede!
-
Well if he's talking to Westwood he has to talk to Keogh as well
-
I like Kozak, he hasn't had anything like enough of a chance to prove himself, but what I've seen before, I like.
I like the fact he moves!
Westwood looking like he cares again.
-
Fuck, woodwork again.
-
How fucking unlucky are we!
-
Fuuuuuck
-
Bacuna has played well so far
-
Fucking woodwork again. Great shot by Gardner
-
Oh fuck Gary boy!!
-
Cracking shot from gardner to hit the post
-
crap he may be , but that was a cracking shot!
-
Nearly a wonder strike from Gardner. When we start getting a bit of luck going our way we're going to absolutely smash someone.
-
Gardner is really, really poor. Need another centre mid still.
Has had pretty much zero impact in the game.
Love it when that happens
-
Gardner is really, really poor. Need another centre mid still.

**snigger**
-
All over them but no goals. They're bound to go in 1-0 up therefore.
-
My dislike for Gardner grows. He contributes nothing. Better leaving a traffic cone in the midfield. At least the opposition may trip on it once or twice
-
Seriously, how many posts is that now this season already? I reckon 8 or 9.
-
So fucking unlucky Gary!
-
Any other team it would have bounced across and gone in off the other post
-
Win and we go into play off positions.
-
Seriously, how many posts is that now this season already? I reckon 8 or 9.
5 in last 2 games I think
-
This game is more like a pre-season kick about.
-
Seriously, how many posts is that now this season already? I reckon 8 or 9.
5 in last 2 games I think
4 against Luton too. 1 at Wednesday.
-
Makes a change seeing 2 centre backs that actually look quite comfortable with the ball at their feet ... and use it well.
-
The commentators on my stream just compared this game to England vs Iceland and I think we are... Iceland? Da fuq?
-
Corner, come on boys`!
-
Shit. stream gone
-
Shit. stream gone
Sure sign of a goal! I can't tell you, as I'm "watching" on here....
-
We still look like we could do with a winger in the side.
-
We still look like we could do with a winger in the side.
We could do with a bit more mobility.
-
We are playing well, but Derby are absolutely gash.
-
For all our attacking options we don't create to many good chances
-
We still look like we could do with a winger in the side.
We could do with a bit more mobility.
Yes. A forward like Hernandez might give that.
Gardner, shot aside, has given the ball away with almost every touch.
-
Streams dead
-
Same 2nd half and we'll have these 1 nil.
-
What's the betting Derby come out with renewed vigour and get a 1-0 win with their only chance of the game?
-
Streams dead
I have about 30 if you want
-
Oh analysis with Ian Holloway. I am sure that will be balanced. Lulz.
-
What's the betting Derby come out with renewed vigour and get a 1-0 win with their only chance of the game?
... courtesy of one D Bent, no doubt
-
Encouraging.
But hopefully that isn't our good half to be followed by our bad half.
Derby can't be that bad again next 45 minutes. Thing is, if they switch it up, can we respond?
-
How's it gone?
-
Despite nearly scoring a cracker Gardner is once again dreadful. That pass at the end of the half sums him up. Shite.
-
So far we are dominating and unfortunate not to be two up. We must have hit the woodwork more than any other team this season. Hopefully our luck will turn.
-
Can anyone pm me with some links...I'm lost in this division!
-
Anyone know why Tish is out?
-
What's the betting Derby come out with renewed vigour and get a 1-0 win with their only chance of the game?
So far this season we have had bad second halves. Losing against Shef Wed and Luton and dropping 2 points v Hfield so it's a good bet.
-
How's it gone?
Playing pretty well, easily the best team, haven't created any glaring chances but have hit the woodwork twice (McCormack and Gardner). Should be winning, but we're not.
-
We are the much better side but it's 0-0 at half time
so we all know what's going to happen here don't we
-
What's the betting Derby come out with renewed vigour and get a 1-0 win with their only chance of the game?
Only 10/3!
-
Gardner is really, really poor. Need another centre mid still.
Has had pretty much zero impact in the game.
**snigger**
You can laugh, but he's right.
-
Streams dead
I have about 30 if you want
That would be great!
-
well should be at least a goal up
hope we do not tire after 60 minutes and Derby come out like a team possessed but these championship teams are not as good as I thought they might be and we need to be finishing them off .
-
Should be ahead and look solid. So slow and ponderous going forward though.
-
How's it gone?

Our centre backs have looked good. Grealish played well as did McCormack and Bacuna. Ayew needs to get into the game some more.
-
Fuck off Holloway you twat. Asked about Grealish, talks about Hughes instead.
-
I take it back. Gardner has improved in last 15 minutes. Should be ahead.
-
Streams dead
I have about 30 if you want
That would be great!
Same for me Mr Tusacans, not that I'm asking 😉
-
We've played well so far and unlucky not to be two up, but Pearson will put a rocket up them and they'll come out and play in the second half - similar to what Huddersfield did in the week. We could well rue missed chances - and when you're on top you have to score or you end up paying for it. But I'm encouraged how well we're playing and we'll only get better with Jedinak to come into the midfield. The team need to realise that Gestede has gone off though and change the long ball looking for his flick-ons.
-
For all our neat play and possession, really disappointed with our last third play.Ayew has to get past his man and deliver more.Get more bods in the box.
-
What's the betting Derby come out with renewed vigour and get a 1-0 win with their only chance of the game?
Bent with the goal?
-
Sounds like we've been on top. We need to make sure we don't lose out this time. It's good we're regularly dominating teams though.
-
Lots of play and a couple of long range shots close. It have not really got around the back or created much, we have to be more clynical in the final 3rd.
-
Dominant but worrying that we haven't created clear cut chances. Lack of pace up top will really hurt us in this division. Bacuna, Westwood and Grealish have been excellent so far. Having a keeper and two centre backs that don't crap themselves when in possession helps a lot.
Good shot aside, we were effectively playing with ten men with Gardner in midfield. I can't recall a ball he has taken off our centre backs. He is playing at least five yards too far forward leaving Westwood to do it all with linking up the play. Those ten men became nine after Kozak's introduction unfortunately. Shifting Ayew up top and Green on would have been a better change. Ayew and Mccormack have gone out of the game since Gestede went off, need to get them back in it somehow.
-
How's it gone?
Like a pre-season friendly with us hitting the post twice. I can only think both teams are saving themselves for the 2nd half.
-

Agree. Gardner has a lovely deadball / long shot but not much else. Feels like the rest of the midfield are carrying him.
-
Anyone know why Tish is out?
Shark attack
-
Derby bringing a nippy bugger on
-
Pretty decent. One of those shits off the woodwork goes in and we'd be happy.
Think Derby will start strong so soaking up and a goal on the break in the first 15 would be nice.
Ayew a little too much running around a fox hole. Compare with Grealish who looks incentive and the conduit for our good play.
Gardner and Westwood solid, haven't needed to be anything else as we've made the most of the wings.
-
There's no such thing as a must win game at this stage but it would give us great confidence to get a couple of goals and see this out for 3 points. Clean sheet would be marvellous too.
-
I'm glad you've all found a new scapegoat means that Westwood and Bacuna aren't getting quite the amount of slagging off they normally do.
For me Gardner and Westwood as a pair have been far better than the 3 that derby have in there and I don't really understand why you all feel the need to rip into one of our players all game.
-
Bacuna yellow card - probably justified
-
Great cover work by Ayew
-
Ayew there you go
tracked back well done son
-
Shite defending there.
-

It might help a few on-loan players think more seriously about joining us.

Scapegoat, how original.
-
Cleared Westy. Sloppy start.
-
then ayew loses it
-
Tuscans....cheers mate
-
Bloody hell look under threat here.
-
Feels like we need a change here.
-
Think Pearson may have had a quiet word with his team at half time
-
Me to with PM Please
-
Bloody hell look under threat here.
It is written.
-
Our games seem to be developing into a pattern.
-
Kozak is offering nothing up front.
-
-
Villa need to get a grip!
-

Can you describe it any other way when gardner was decided as the villain of the piece before kick off and the performance hasn't really had any effect on changing that because people only see the mistakes?
-
All Derby.
-
They're much more intense than us here.
-
Gardner is a statue, uninvolved in midfield. Everyone else is covering for him. He needs to be subbed.
-
Derby in control, so will we make a tactical or personnel change to get back on top?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say no.
-
I'm glad you've all found a new scapegoat means that Westwood and Bacuna aren't getting quite the amount of slagging off they normally do.

Yes, lots of ways. Go on, use 'fickle' for a lazy put down full house.
-
Poor shot by Ayew
-
Fuck off, Ayew. Pathetic.
-
Any half decent manager will know we lose concentration and fitness in the second half.
-

Lowest pass accuracy of the outfield players with the exception of Bacuna, 72% (versus 90% for Westwood for example). I'm not suggesting that he needs to be put in the stocks and pelted with rotten tomatoes for that, but to suggest he's not really having a huge impact on the game doesn't strike me as the most outlandish of claims.
-
Low percentage daft decision by Ayew.
-
Kozak playing the invisible Gestede role.
-
we really need to concentrate whilst Derby have this spell.
-
Derby closing down and getting stuck in now. Need to get a grip in midfield.
-
home teams always get 10/15 mins after HT

The word I was to use does begin with f and usually gets paired with another but you carry on trying to be clever, I'll judge Gardner based on how he's playing not on having already decided he's not good enough.
-
shit FK
-
Ridden out the storm here?
-
home teams always get 10/15 mins after HT
We didn't on Tuesday ;-)
Maybe 5.
-
Given away by Gardner completely unnecessarily
-
Go on then Paul, where would we be without better fans than you?
-
i can see a red for a derby player
-
Kozak looks less of a pro footballer than Gestede.
-
Idiot McCormack.
-
Getting tetchy now
-
shocking westwood pass there
-
anybody willing to state a case FOR westwood
-
He does point exceptionally well
-
Silly yellow card but I appreciate Bacuna's energy today.
-
Doubt this will end 11 v 11
Pointy and GG are poor and Libor is way off the pace
-
I'd get Kozak off
-
We need some presence up front.
-
anybody willing to state a case FOR westwood
He might be a nice person.*
*But we don't know.
-
we need a nakhi wells type bad
-
Go on then Paul, where would we be without better fans than you?
I'm not saying I'm a better fan than anyone, just that every mistake by Gardner has been picked up and slagged off but the 90% of th etime where he's done exactly what you'd want is being ignored. The truth is that he's had an average game and will get 6 or 7 out of 10 from any impartial judge but from some on here that will be far too high because they've already decided he's a 4-5 out of 10 player so that's what they see.
Nice to see you being our normal thin-skinned self though.
-
Well he plays the straight ball OK... oh wait, he doesn't even do that.
-
Thought Westwood was our best player first half
-
When are we gonna put in 2 decent halves in same bloody
Game..... No where near enough strength and depth for the amount of games in this league
-
Nice to see you being our normal thin-skinned self though.
My problem with that is that when people start going on about scapegoats, they're just asking for a reaction - regardless of who they are and which player they are talking about.
Like "fickle" it is one of those words that gets people annoyed.
-
Come on Villa.
-
Have been watching the midfield four - Ayew and Grealish chasing back when we lose the ball, Gardner and Westwood just ambling around. And neither of them can pass unless it's ten yards sideways or backwards.
-
Gardner needs to be subbed here. He really is making the rest of the team work harder to cover for him.
-
Will be a sickner if this is another Wednesday result.
Would be o.k with 0-0.
-
Weathered the storm now, need to grab the game again and give Ross, Jordan and Jack my ball time.
-
When are we gonna put in 2 decent halves in same bloody

We are a tiny number of games into an outrageously long league calendar.
I'm not too worried, it always takes time for teams to settle into this league, plus we've got lots of new players (either in or en route) and new management at the club.
-
Will be a sickner if this is another Wednesday result.
Would be o.k with 0-0.
On the plus side our defence seems solid.
-
RDM was saying just yesterday how is looking for something different up front. Bamford isn't slow but it might not be him. We need someone with genuine pace.
-
Need green on with pace. Kozak off with mcormack ayew up front
-
I like Grealish industry
-
Header off the line.
-
How the fuck did that not go in!
-
how the fuck it didnt go in
-
I don't like the singling out of goats. Very intelligent animals are goats.
-
Nice to see you being our normal thin-skinned self though.

No one else decided to make an argument out of it though and Gardner is being scapegoated. We've still been, in my opinion, marginally the better team. You don't do that if both of your central midfielders are playing utterly shit as anyone reading this thread would believe. In truth Westwood and Gardner have protected the defence reasonably well and have got the ball to Grealish, RM and Ayew quickly, which is what they should be doing.
If you want to pick a reason for us still being 0-0 it's that Kozak looks half fit so we're light up front but we don't have many options to change it.
-
Some traditional hoofball there.
-
If we keep this up we will break through. Or concede on the counter. One of the two.
-
Another awful pass from Gardener. Surely RDM has to see the damage he is causing?
-
We have no luck.
-
Come on Villa!!! 1-0 will do.
-
We still need 4 players to come in.
-
dear me bacuna off side
-
Jesus, offside from our own throw in.
-
somebody lost possesion there - awful
-
Westwood gives the ball away then gives a free kick on the edge of the box. Useless
-
Why?!?!
-
Nice to see you being our normal thin-skinned self though.

In your opinion.
I don't know why you're surprised when people get the heckles up about that word.
It annoyed me, too. I might not have reacted to it, but it still annoyed me. To use it and then start calling people thin skinned for reacting to it is a bit off - you must surely half expect it when you use it?
-
We're not going to score here and that was awful from Westwood.
-
somebody lost possesion there - awful
Westwood. :( Which is a shame because he has not been our worst midfielder today. Just a bad one.
-
Our midfield really is poor quality.
-
Westwood is fantastically fey.
-
Our midfield really is poor quality.
It is. Not the easiest choice to figure out who to bring off.. or on. :/
-
Kozak looks a million miles off the pace.
-
Ayew does so much great stuff, apart from his final ball
-
Apart from long rang, has Carson been troubled?
-
Another miss....
Bent coming on aswell....
-
I expected people to react because they don't like having their opinion challenged, I'd just like people to consider overall performances rather than picking a few misplaced passes and deciding someone is shit.
-
Dire
-
Jordan Ayew seems to be our hope. Come on Villa.
-
Ayew does so much great stuff, apart from his final ball
He's been our best and hardest working midfielder today.
-
And we all know what happens now....
-
Lol Bent with a giggle. I wish him no ill will.
-
Kozak is shit. Oh no here comes bent
-
I expected people to react because they don't like having their opinion challenged, I'd just like people to consider overall performances rather than picking a few misplaced passes and deciding someone is shit.
Why don't you just say that, then, rather than weighing in with "scapegoat" and then calling them thin skinned when they don't like it?
-
Its written in the stars
-
Kozak is shit. Oh no here comes bent
*scrambles for Next Goalscorer market*
-
in fairness we are a couple of players light in midfield
-
Kozak is shit. Oh no here comes bent

14/1.....
-
I expected people to react because they don't like having their opinion challenged, I'd just like people to consider overall performances rather than picking a few misplaced passes and deciding someone is shit.
Or maybe they just have a different opinion to you, and are going off all his appearances this season so far rather than just one shot, which you appear to be.
-
Kozak is shit. Oh no here comes bent
*scrambles for Next Goalscorer market*
You'll get crap odds because every Villa fan has already piled in...
-
Kozak is shit. Oh no here comes bent
*scrambles for Next Goalscorer market*
He's going to score isn't he? I blame Lambert and his fuckwittery...
-
That was outstandingly poor by Kozak
-
Kozak, fucking hell.
-
in fairness we are a couple of players light in midfield
Hopefully 1 more one our new signing starts...Will Hughes anyone?
-
Kozak = Donkey
-
Tackles accurately and clean does Tommy.
-
pure shit at times.
-
A 6 inch pass misplaced.....christ
-
Fifty yard pass by Gardner. Unfortunately to nobody.
-
Never thought I'd say this but sometimes Westwood seems to do too much! He's been caught in close quarters a few times today.
-
Then again, he's playing on his own.
-
We all know how this is going to end here don't we.
Although very frustrating, we should have this long tied up, the positive for RdM is how much better we are than last season, and that is without Jedinak and Tshibola and the other players we are looking to bring in.
Not that it won't be another kick in the balls when we lose this.
-
Kozak, fucking hell.
When he ran through it was like he was carrying somebody else on his back.
-
Tackles accurately and clean does Tommy.
Shame about tuesday then! but yes been good today on the whole.
-
Is Kozak a Nigerian 27?
-
in fairness we are a couple of players light in midfield
Hopefully 1 more one our new signing starts...Will Hughes anyone?
I wouldnt say no, but he has always struck me as oe of those "next big thing for England" players that never became the big thing. Bit like Ince really.
-
Why didn't Gollini come for that??
-
Kozak = Donkey
After 1 start in 2 and a half years due to injury, looking rusty is not really a shock.
-
Kozak, fucking hell.
When he ran through it was like he was carrying somebody else on his back.
And that person being Agbonlahor.
-
Wouldn't it be nice to win with a scuffed in, scrappy, lucky deflected off a defender shot in the 93rd minute?
-
Kozak = Donkey
After 1 start in 2 and a half years due to injury, looking rusty is not really a shock.
Indeed
-
Kozak = Donkey

Put RHM on then.
-
I expected people to react because they don't like having their opinion challenged, I'd just like people to consider overall performances rather than picking a few misplaced passes and deciding someone is shit.
Or maybe they just have a different opinion to you, and are going off all his appearances this season so far rather than just one shot, which you appear to be.
Thank you for making my point for me. You are judging him on 'all his appearances this season' not on his performance in this game. That's exactly what I'm complaining about. Oh and I'm not judging him on 1 shot, I'm judging him on the fact that we've been better in midfield than they have and that doesn't happen by accident.
-
Kozak off. Green on
-
the stream is truly fecked
-
Wouldn't it be nice to win with a scuffed in, scrappy, lucky deflected off a defender shot in the 93rd minute?
Yes, but you and I have lived through the past few years. I think we know that kind of thing doesnt happen to us. :(
-
Kozak rightly off. That's one of the worst 60 minute performances ever.
-
Oh and Amavi on for Grealish
-
You've been Mata'rd!
-
Oh dear. Sub subbed. I know there are mitigating circumstances but that's not good.
-

You'll have to point out where I've done that.
-
Ross getting a bit pissed at Jordan trying to take on one too many
-
Kozak just looked very, very off the pace. A desperation move to have him on th bench let alone have him play for as long as had to.
-
Oh dear. Sub subbed. I know there are mitigating circumstances but that's not good.
You've got to question his inclusion in the first place.
-
Kozak = Donkey
After 1 start in 2 and a half years due to injury, looking rusty is not really a shock.
True but getting a free header on target and making a 1 metre pass shouldn't be beyond someone who has been training most days ...
-
The galling thing is, if we'd appointed Pearson as our manager in the summer, we'd have won the league by now.
-
I think we could play till next week and not look like scoring
-
I think I'd take the point right now.
-
Kozak was clearly not fit, I suspect he was on the bench so they could give him a few minutes at the end, not over an hour.
-
Oh dear. Sub subbed. I know there are mitigating circumstances but that's not good.
You've got to question his inclusion in the first place.
That's the point RDM was making yesterday. We have no depth at all at that position and very little genuine quality, McCormack aside.
-
Cissokho being an idiot.
-

He's human.

And the Champions League, plus challenging for the La Liga title.

And Olympic Gold.
-
Cissokho, stop being shit FFS!
-
Kozak is just in the shop window to get a few quid for him from somebody desperate.
-
I think I'd take the point right now.
Me too.
We need a couple of attacking options and another midfielder before the window shuts.
-
Kozak is just in the shop window to get a few quid for him from somebody desperate.
I don't think they'll be queuing up after seeing that.

Yeah, it's fair comment. Heat of the moment comments ...
I want Kozak to do well: he looked good before the horrendous injuries.
-

RHM has to be worth a go.
I think the key thing here is the difference between a player being worth a go and worth relying on.
I'd agree RHM is the sort of player who deserves a chance, but rely on him playing enough of a part to deliver all the options we need up front? That'd be nuts. That's the sort of mistake we've made over and over these last five years or so.
-
Fucking Gardner. What the fuck are you doing you utter pratt!
-
I think I'd take the point right now.
Me too.
We need a couple of attacking options and another midfielder before the window shuts.
Full back as well please!
-
Here we go....
-
Take the draw now.
-
gardner, always gardner.
bloody hell.
-
That advert at half-time about walking football might be the best option for Kozak.
-
Two poor teams
-
...appears to be exactly what Gollini is thinking.
-
4 minutes
-
overall ill be happy with a draw.
-
Aly doesn't have a clue what to do when he receive's the ball.
-
Two poor teams
I dunno. I genuinely think you are watching two of the best three teams in the Championship (Newcastle 3rd).
-
That advert at half-time about walking football might be the best option for Kozak.
Ha, very true.

As a sub in a game away from home when you're main striker has been taken off? I think it would be the perfect opportunity. No one says he has to play every game. Lord knows he has the talent.
-

You'll have to point out where I've done that.
Where you've said exactly what I quoted? It's literally right there, should I make it bold for you?
To simplify, saying someone is playing shit in a single game and justifying it by saying he's been shit in other games is just fundamentally wrong. My point all along was that people had already decided Gardner was going to be shit before kick off and they're ignoring anything that doesn't fit that so they can carry on calling him shit. The truth is he's done his job pretty well today, as have the entire team except for Gestede and Kozak.
-
This has confirmed to me that we are just a mid table championship team
-
why can't we get a win in the last minute !
-
What did Gardner do? Give the ball away in our own final third? (Genuinely don't know as not watching) Standard I'm afraid
-
The galling thing is, if we'd appointed Pearson as our manager in the summer, we'd have won the league by now.
And the Champions League, plus challenging for the La Liga title.
Quite right.
Sergeant Major Pearson could have just turned up, punched Lescott in the face and the title would have been ours.
-
why can't we get a win in the last minute !
Maybe we will!

Two poor teams
Too right.

Sorry, I thought you were talking in general terms re our options up front.
-
here we go! you know what's going to happen!
-
Nothing stupid now
-
Come on lads! last push! Lets nick it!
-
why can't we get a win in the last minute !
Maybe we will!
That would be nice!
-
What did Gardner do? Give the ball away in our own final third? (Genuinely don't know as not watching) Standard I'm afraid
Unless I've missed anything, he lunged in and conceded a free kick just outside our penalty box.
-
CONCENTRATE!
-
On the break? Last gasp winner?
-
Phew
-
Phew
I'd have taken a draw at 5.30 today
-
We've been the better side, as we were in our last game with little or no luck and we had luck the quality was lacking. One day those shots that hit the woodwork will go in, but right now it is frustrating to see us labouring to a point. It will get better but it will take us getting 3 or 4 more players in.
-
Poor. Still far too much rubbish in the team.
-

We need to create more chances all around, I think.
Hitting the woodwork from distance shows something, but we need to create "scuff it in from three yards" style chances, really.
-
Jedinak, Tshibola and Westwood will make a decent enough midfield. We were too soft there again today I think.
-

We haven't had a scruffy goalscorer for aeons.

Phew
I'd have taken a draw at 5.30 today
Funny you should say that. As much as I predict a result on the pre match thread I always find it isn't until kick off that I realise my true feelings. At kick off I thought "I would take a draw".
Our new goalkeeper frightens me a bit though to be honest.
-

If you don't have anyone in place to scuff it in from 3 yards then those chances don't get created because the balls that would lead to them just fall to a defender to clear comfortably. That's why a proper 9 with some mobility and awareness in the box is so important.

I know we are talking generally as opposed to specifically but I think the scruffiest goal I can remember was Cascarino against Derby at The Holte End under Dr Jo. 3-2 to us I think.
-
anybody willing to state a case FOR westwood
Harsh on today's performance. Thought he was tidy with the ball and a few good interceptions.
With Jedinak and Tsibola I think he's fine for 3rd choice or part of a 3 as and when. Would I like a better player in? Yes Do I think it's the immediate area of concern? No.
-
Oh dear. Sub subbed. I know there are mitigating circumstances but that's not good.

A useful way of reminding Dr Tony he needs that forward player.
