Cheltenham Town have signed Aston Villa and England Under-18 defender Easah Suliman on loan until 2 January.
The 18-year-old can play at right-back, centre-half and in central midfield.
Born in Birmingham, Suliman signed a professional deal with Villa in January 2015 until 2017, but is yet to make a senior, competitive first-team appearance for the Championship club.
He has represented England since under-16 level and made 16 international appearances for the under-17 side.

Attacking midfielder Carles Gil has left Aston Villa and joined La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna on a one-year loan deal.
The 23-year-old Spaniard joined Villa from Valencia for £3.2m in January 2015 on a four-and-a-half year contract.

Doncaster Rovers have re-signed Aston Villa midfielder Riccardo Calder on a half-season loan.
The 20-year-old, who played 12 games for Rovers last term, will be with the League Two club until January.
-
Has anyone else gone out on loan ?
-
Gardner goes on loan every season. He'll get a testimonial having played about 5 games for us!
-
Will be interesting to see how Suliman gets on. He's seemed solid enough from what I've seen and the versatility he offers is perfect for a 'clubman' so would be good if he takes this chance to really develop. Do any of you locals go to any cheltenham games?

I've only been to a few games. Twice I was in with visiting Hartlepool fans, one I was in with Plymouth. I think that I've only been to one game (v Swindon) in with the home fans.
Hopefully Suliman will play regularly for 'Nam. If he doesn't, he might as well play for Villa's U21s
-
I missed the Gill move, thanks for the update.

And their dropping like flies :D

From SKY Sports Transfer Centre
Fiorentina have signed Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez on a season-long loan.
The Serie A side also have the option to buy the 30-year-old Colombia international at the end of the campaign.
Sanchez scored one goal in 55 appearances for Villa and was part of the side that was relegated from the Premier League last term
-
Carlos loan reported on BBC as well

Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez has joined Italian Serie A side Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent move.

Surprised me that he started 21 league games last year

Unfortunately, that's because he went unnoticed for most of the time; one pass for a Gabby goal was all I remember.

He had more assists than anyone else at the club last season, apparently - which I think can only demonstrate that we did not score many goals because I'll be blowed if I remember him doing anything noteworthy.

I should think that it includes substitute appearances and not actually started games.

this
no way did he start 21 games
-
25 league games.
21 starts, 4 sub appearances and another 4 cup games.
-
This is almost three times the number of games (and around four times the number of starts) that Mathieu Berson had. I'd have thought that there appearance numbers would have been very similar.
Just goes to show the lack of impact that Veretout had
-
Henry Cowans has joined Stevenage on loan.
Cowans, son of legend Gordon and regular in the U23s, will head to The Lamex Stadium for five months until January 7.
Stevenage play in League 2 and are managed by Darren Sarll.
Cowans will come into contention for this weekend’s match at Grimsby on Saturday.

Did any player play more than 10 games last season?

No player played any games last season. 2015/16 season did not occur. Any reports that Leicester won the league are equally spurious.
I'm not in denial. I just refuse to believe that we were as abject and spineless as we were.

Kevin Toner at Walsall until January with the promise of first team football.
-
Carlos scored for Fiorentina tonight
-
Not only did Sanchez score the only goal of the game, a well taken header from a corner, but was also Man of the Match according to the Corriere dello Sport.
-
A goal, MOTM and taken off injured in the 59th minute. If football was only played for 60 minutes a game, Carlos would be one of the greatest players in the world. I appreciate he never had a proper rest every summer what with international football but I'm struggling to think of a player whose performance dropped so low for the final 30 minutes of a game.
Good luck to him though. For 60 minutes a game he's a very good, technical player. Why he never scored headers like that goal yesterday whilst at Villa I'll never know.
Oh hang on.. of course, Westwood on corners.
-
Harry McKirdy [Aston Villa - Stevenage] Loan

Harry McKirdy [Aston Villa - Stevenage] Loan
With young Cowans there too, they might just be my second favourite side.
-
Surprised we didn't let RHM go to coventry. He's not been getting on the bench before we strengthened and the under 23 league is shit.

If there's a thread like this on a Chelsea fan-site, they'll have their work cut out monitoring the players' progress

Surely its all about the pace of the game - he never got to grips with it here and was made even worse at 60 mins when both his body and brain tired

Stock piling talent and dictating where it goes, to quash the opposition . it shouldnt be allowed

It's also a canny investment with players' values seemingly increasing 10-15% (?) each summer. That's better than Abramovich keeping the cash in a bank account, not to mention the loan fees they'd be receiving.

Was it only down to his own game or did he run out of steam trying to cover for other players defensively and having to complete more difficult passes later in the game as players stopped running into/creating space. Perhaps we missed the obvious.

At the risk of sounding very judgemental, will many of them even give a f%%k, as long as whoever the latest Abramovich ego trip is, is not running the risk of a season outside the top 4 again.

The oddest is Cuadrado, at Juventus on a THREE YEAR "loan" deal!
-

Satanage could never be anyone's second, or even first, favourite side.
-

Ryan Giggs was on-loan at ManUre for 20 years. Chickened-out of returning to his parent club, Man City, when the loan expired.
-
Bump..........
Seeing as Gil's lack of game time is being discussed elsewhere
Has anyone been keeping an eye of the other loanees ?
-
Vertoute scored at the weekend....
-
Carlos Sanchez is generally in the team for a mid-table Fiorentina side.
Scored the winner for them earlier in the season against Chievo.

True but I think international football caught up with him. It was a tournament every summer for the last 3 years, not to mention all the traveling.

Goalkeeperini loaned to Atalanta
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38611433
Aston Villa have allowed goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini to return to Italy by loaning him to Serie A side Atalanta on an 18-month deal.
The former Manchester United reserve was a Roberto di Matteo signing this summer when he arrived from Italian second-tier side Hellas Verona for £4m.
"It came out of the blue last night," Villa boss Steve Bruce told BBC WM.
"We agreed a deal and it was done in a couple of hours and he's now gone off to Atalanta.

Aly to Greece
https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/01/16/cissokho-joins-olympiacos
Aly Cissokho has joined Olympiacos on loan until the end of the season.
Olympiacos have an option to buy at the end of the deal.
-
We better not accept Drachma.
-
I think that's all they've got left now. No Euros left in the coffers. And he will not enjoy the snow out there, either.
-
Who is going to be our cover at left back?
-
Given the new recruits, do we think that anyone might go out on loan ?
Tish maybe ?
-
I watched Sanchez the other evening playing for Fiorentina against Napoli - he was absolutely awful.
He has had a haircut though
-
Surely these loanees, Gil, Veretout, Sanchez, etc, are out with a view to sale ? If not and they reach the end of the season and we're still in this exciting league, bringing them back won't work will it ?
-
Tish to Forest
https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/01/30/tshibola-goes-on-loan
-
Good move all-round, he stays in the Ch'ship to see if he can get some form at this level and we can take him back if so. Do we get a fee or do they just cover half his wages or whatever? It's hard work being a big club.
-
Kevin Toner has joined Bradford City on loan.
Toner heads to the League One Bantams until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old signed a new two-year deal with us in August 2016 before spending time with Walsall on loan.
Toner made his senior breakthrough in the 2015/16 campaign.
The centre-back was introduced at half-time in the Villa Park meeting with Southampton in April 2016 and started our final trio of matches.
-
Carlos Gil is having a superb season in La Liga. Same assists as Messi, ahead of Ronaldo.
-
I've just read OS loanwatch - our loanees haven't been too busy with most subbing or not involved. Even McCormack only got ten minutes.

bloody hell how much did we pay for him
-
Way, way too much
-
Tish not even on the bench.
-
League one player at best.
-
Booed when he came on by the Forrest fans according to the R5 reporter.
Booing the decision to take Clough off according to a forum I've just read, the view of him appears to be 'meh', not bad but not needed.
