I remember that well, missed the first 15 minutes due to the numbers trying to get in and loads of trouble in the ground and outside.
"What a fuckin' shit hole".

Same here. Arrived at the ground with fellow London lions at 2.15 and got in the ground at 3.25 when it was 1-1. Most scared I have ever been at a match, with the crush and aggressive use of police horses more worrying than anything I have faced from opposing fans.

Oh, and it was my birthday too and I started the day with a ranging hangover. All worth it in the end, mind.

Had to stand on the kop amongst the rags as we went with our uncle, there was an almighty crush outside their end too... very scary stuff and not just because we were surrounded by that lot.

I was in the upper railway end loads of villa up there don't no why but there was, walk back into town was bit tasty but if you shouted BOO loud enough at them it seemed to expose a few myths about them

One turnstile in the away end open. Didn't Villa smash up the Old Crown in Digbeth pre-match?
-
I used to love the St Andrews Derby - the Andy Gray goal from Rimmer's throw out top of the tree for me.
Anyone remember the Saturday game the day after Sid V had been arrested for Nancy's murder?
One of the funniest things I ever read was in the Bloose programme against the Villa when this knob wrote in from prison apologising for his past behaviour - must have been a blag as bloose can't write.
Give me the intimidation of the Derby any day to a day out shopping with the missus.

I bet it was my birthday before it was yours!
It was my birthday too.

Just to let you all know it wasn't my birthday, that was another day entirely

The crush was terrible outside the Tilton, my Dad and uncle gave up and went in the Kop. Got split up from my brother in the chaos. Got in to the top of the Tilton around half time just in time to see Gary smash his second goal, cue pandemonium . Very moody outside walking back to the car after.

Apart from the result, it was bloody awful.

Was Mcinally on the bench this game and was orchestrating the fans as he was on the touchline?

I remember the crush while trying to get in through the only turnstile they appeared to have open .It was almost as scary as the night match we played there in the League cup when Bossie saved a pen with more or less his first touch .That night my girlfriend and i almost got crushed by a couple of police horses in the scrum to get in the dump .What a shame we have to face it all again this coming season
