Going to be honest, Ive just found this in my loft havent got a clue how I ended up with it,but its going on ebay. but does anyone know anything about the game? Why it was played and what was the score?
-
We won 2-1.
-
Does that mean we were World Champions? I'm pretty sure that's how it worked in those days. Midlands team wins friendly against Commies = World Champions.
-
Thanks PWS :D

Are you sure that wasn't just Albion? Sounds like the kind of thing they would come out with.

That comes from a headline after Wolves had beaten Honved in the mid-1950s and led to L'Equipe coming up with an outline for the European Cup a few days later.

16th in the table after 16 games. Mercer OUT! I see Mourinho was manager of Chelsea back then and the Noses had Gary Penrice in charge.
