I am not a royalist, but I have more and more respect for Prince William. At least he has been seen at the ground, and his comments today on Leicester are worth supporting. THough it hurts to say so, they are a good well run club and if they win the League it will be a great moment. So why not say so? Its not disrespectful to agree that they outplayed Villa in their home game. They play the game the way they should be played and run their affairs intelligently so why not applaud them?
Personally I am happy to stand with the PRince on this issue. The moment Villa lost the plot was when we were 2-0 up at the King Power and Sherwood took off two midfielders to add firepower. And the Leicester players went for it and won. Good luck to them. We threw away a winning position, they picked up the gauntlet and ran with it. Every football supporter who is sick of moneybags running the game should openly support them in the hope they can do it.
I am Villa till I die.... But have no problems in saying Leicester should be backed all the way.

Agree with you Trevor, fair response by William. I think that match had a huge effect on the rest of the season for both clubs. In fact I believe that if the result had stayed at 2 nil, we wouldn't be relegated and Leicester wouldn't be in a Champions league spot.

Not wanting to undervalue a Prince's opinion on football, but there is a strong resentment in the RAF that he retired a few years too soon. Google training cost for RAF helicopter pilot.
Ah well, he's a lovely rosey faced prince, let him enjoy the perks of his Norfolk estate.

I happen to have suffered the ordeal of having watched them about 7-8 times this season, twice against us when but for comical tactical decisions we would have beaten them comfortably away, then at home with no confidence and very little ability, still held the 'champions elect'. On every other occasion I've had the misfortune to watch them, they've sat back, clung on and by some miracle nicked a goal. People say it's good for football that a club like Leicester can win the league. I think encouraging teams to play in the style they've adopted will be the death of creative football.
Just my view, not that anyone asked. Good a thread as any.

As for Leicester ... ;D..... please let them win it.
Spurs into 2nd and Arsenal / Man C / Man U / fighting to avoid early season qualifying.

Yes, how dare one of the Premier League's smaller teams play to their strengths? Those world-class goals by Vardy and Mahrez won't plaster over the cracks - this lot are rubbish. If we hadn't been so shit, we would have beaten them with ease. In fact, we did. It's us who are top of the league, and uncreative Leicester who are getting relegated. The weirdos.

Its a mostly valid point, but I don't really think you can trace the decline to the Leicester game in September. More it has built up over the last three or four years, and constant poor mangerial appointments and running of the club has been whats done it.
He's right to champion Leicester as everyone else has, but then I think the telling thing for them and the rest of the league is how things play out next season.

It really could happen, and if it did would highlight the major problem with Football and the money gap in this country. That's not to say I regret this season as a Football fan, but it does feel like it might be a flash in the pan.

You have to play in a style to suit your players and Ranieri has achieved this. They may be a one season wonder, but it's good to see the money bags clubs struggling to keep up.
AS far as Villa are concerned, pity we didn't have Leicester's resolve.

The best thing about them doing well is it might shake a few other clubs from their inferiority complex and the usual suspects do not have things all their own way.

A couple of months ago I hated the fact that Leicester were top, mainly because I was bitter about the whole season, and villa were still fighting relegation. Now we're as good as down I hope they do it. I've been moaning for years how predictable the premiership is, it would be churlish of me to complain now that it isn't.

I've got twobastard kids keeping me up all bastard night, the missus constantly tired, I'm constantly tired, we're arguing, I had 3 hours sleep last night and to top it all off every fucking Saturday I trudge off to Villa Park when I get the chance, which isn't often now but thank fuck because we're bloody bollocks and get shagged every week. Did you see Liverpool? Fucking wankers. And you ask me what I cnting well think of bastard fucking Leicester? Fuck off. That's what I think of Leicester".
I didn't catch it all admittedly but I think that was the gist of it

Leicester are everyone's favourite second team.
Klopp will get Liverpool back to where they belong, but it will take time.
Those long suffering Newcastle fans are the bestest fans in the history of organised sport and deserve better.

To be fair Lerner has provided us with plenty of donuts - Fox, Almstadt, McLeish, Lambert, Sherwood, Faulkner, Richards, Guzan, Westwood to name but a few.
