Title: FA Cup - Wycombe Away
Post by: UK Redsox on December 09, 2015, 09:39:17 AM
For use when the ticket news is announced.

Meanwhile, any parking tips ? The official car park looks like it'll be a right bugger to get out of.

Park as far away from the ground as possible, it's a nightmare if you park too close.

The train station is nowhere near the ground. The ground itself seems to appear in the middle of an industrial estate.

Looks about a 30 minute walk from High Wycombe town centre, so I'll probably just park up there

Buses 32 and 48 go near to the ground from the town centre if you fancy slumming it. Get off at the Hour Glass pub and it's about a five minute walk from there.

maybe villa fans drinking in the town could share taxis

The ground is in effect at the end of a nearly one mile long cul de sac. One way in and one way out for everybody.
If you don't want the traffic jam afterwards, then just walk. The fresh air and exercise will do you all good.

A number of options UK but none involve driving directly.

Go with Gloucestershire supporters lot for a start. Drive home from Cheltenham later or take a cheap hotel if you fancy a few beers. They will stop in Stokenchurch on the way before and after.

Do a deal with John on reduced pricing for the coach element, and let them ferry you to and from the car at the pub in Stokenchurch. You can have one and piss off when you like after.

Proclaim yourself a worshipper at the alter of Dallaglio and demand entrance to the ground free as well as his parking spot so you can feel like your great hero (an egg chasing gag if you are getting lost).

You can train it but ground is not really walkable. It would also involve buses and an out of town parking spot.

I can swap details with John Holder for you if it would assist. The only downside is that you would be repeatedly asked about Pete Wilkes. A forester who hasn't been around for years, had a nose like playing days Paul Merson and a love of fun to match!

From Wycombe's website:
Aston Villa have been given an allocation of 2,550 tickets in the Panache Stand behind one goal, and the Beechdean Stand along one side (both seating).

Any ideas when they will be on general sale?

I've attended 7 of the 8 away games played this season.

The online system still let me buy my ticket today.

Therefore, if you think you're a game or two short of eligibility to buy today, it might still be worth trying online

This can also be where some kind of Lions Club membership is useful. Chairman says "we need 50 for Wycombe". You can have 30 now and we will see, response.

Also happened to a mate of mine. I had 8 aways, where he had 6. I brought them both together online and it accepted my payment.

Message from Wycombe

See you there boys
The Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Trust, Club and all staff are looking forward to welcoming Aston Villa and their supporters to Adams Park for our 3rd round FA cup tie.
Welcoming fans who take so much time and effort to follow their club away is a big part of our home game planning here and we want you to understand how much we appreciate your journey.
From 11am our AWAY VILLAGE will be in open. Hot food and a full bar will be available in your own fully heated Marquee. Supporter are welcome to come a little earlier and decorate the marquee to make your fans feel even more at home if you wish.
The Away Village is situated immediately inside the Adams Park entry gate and right next to the away Stand Entry turnstiles. We try and distribute team sheets to you all and programs are available for purchase also.
For those travelling on official coach transport the Away Village is only 100 yards away from the parking area. Supporters will limited mobility are able to access the village with no problems.
The nearest pub is a 20 minute walk from Adams Park and traffic gets very busy in the lead up to the match, so we do suggest getting into the away village early or risk missing kick off if you come late from town.
We have extra buses operating from High Wycombe Station that will ferry supporters straight to Adams Park .
Kind regards
Damian Irvine
Head of Commercial Activities

Very good from Wycombe there, or if I'm being really cynical, a good way to get loads of money off the away fans!

No, can't be cynical, it's a really good idea.

It's a lovely idea. I just hope it's not ruined by 16 year olds who can't take their beer throwing lager around, the feckin eejits.
