In what we all hope is Sherwood's final game in charge he has chosen as follows:
Guzan, Hutton, Richards, Lescott, Richardson, Bacuna, Gana, Grealish, Ayew, Gabby, Gestede
Fuck me
-
Bench: Bunn, Amavi, Westwood, Traore, Sanchez, Gil, Crespo
-
No Westwood!
Curious to see how they line up.
-
The team sheet also know as his resignation letter
One fucking CM ..against a passing side like Swansea WTF
-
Another mental line up the only positive being no Westwood. I really hope this is his last game the guy is an idiot.
-
No midfield at all really
-
Some people don't believe in God, Tim Sherwood doesn't believe in midfield.
-
No Westwood!
No midfield!
-
This looks like it could be 4-1 or 1-4 just not sure which....
-
Ridiculous line up. One proper central midfielder.
You've got to wonder what's going through his head
-
Veretout not even on the bench
-
Fuck me. An interesting way to resign.
-
How on earth is that midfield going to get the ball off Swansea? FFS
-
Ridiculous line up. One proper central midfielder.
You've got to wonder what's going through his head
He knows he's going and wants to leave us in the shit. It can only be.
-
Opponents known for effective passing game.
Tactical approach? No midfield.
-
Swansea: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Sigursdsson, Montero, Ayew, Gomis
-
Opponents known for effective passing game.
Tactical approach? No midfield.
Bypass the midfield by hoofing it up to Gestede?
-
No Westwood!
No midfield!
He's going to push up the pitch with the highest line he can.
-
Bye Tim!
-
If that line up works it should be brilliant to watch.....
Not a chance in a million that it will though.
-
Wow - nurse !!!
-
There will be a lot of punts up the pitch to Gestede. That is as nailed on as Gabby being selected to the side again today.
-
Ridiculous line up. One proper central midfielder.
You've got to wonder what's going through his head
Gueye missed his "mini pre-season", so thither is to give him some stamina work.
What an absolutely gormless twat we've got for a manager.
I could have understood 4-5-1, but that's just bollocks.
-
Ki, shelvey and sigurdsson against gana, Bacuna and grealish (I guess??)
It's the kind of line up you see suggested on a forum and think - that person doesn't really understand football
Let's hope we've all got egg on our face in a bit
-
Subs: Bunn, Amavi, Westwood, Traore, Sanchez, Gil, Crespo
I reckon those seven who beat Sherwood's XI today. What a complete and utter twat.
-
Opponents known for effective passing game.
Tactical approach? No midfield.
Bypass the midfield by hoofing it up to Gestede?
My thoughts exactly, he flicks it on to Agbonlahor who runs down a blind alley.
-
How he has been able to "manage" another game is scandalous .
You just know we're going to lose this before a ball has been kicked.
-
Just heard his line up.Think I might stay in the pub! Gana better get his finger out.He is the midfield today!!
-
That line-up could only be the product of a not-very-bright person on two hours' sleep trying desperately to prove how original they are. I mean, by Christ I hope it works, but you really worry. Swansea's strongest area is their central midfield - solution? Vacate the centre of midfield. Bloody hell, let's see what happens.
-
What you're all missing is that he's actually done what we all wanted and gone back to the shape from the Leicester game but he's decided to start without a midfield and slowly bring it on rather than taking it off.
-

It's the kind of line up you see suggested on a forum and think - that person doesn't really understand football

I think anybody going to the match today that was still supportive of Sherwood when seeing that line up will immediately change their mind. Swansea are going to have to be completely piss poor for us to get anything from the game.
-
Fuck me. I have seen some line ups and thought bit strange in my time, but this one is fucking suicide. All that was wrong with the subs at Leicester born out in the starting eleven here. No Gil, no Veretout who was or best central midfielder against Stoke, Gabby in, Grealish in no man's land. We have some real talent but without a structured way of playing it will never flourish. Feck of Sherwood. If we win today you Know that it was pure fluke as the team was clearly picked by lottery.
-
Perhaps this is a cunning plan of Baldrik like proportions.
-
His line ups get more and more bizarre.
-
He's a substance abuser. Can anyone think of a better reason?
-
It's 4-2-3-1. With Bacuna in defensive midfield, next to Gana. Grealish the playmaker, Ayew and Gabby as wide forwards. Gestede as the Target Man.
Bacuna in defensive midfield.
-
What the fuck Tim?!
No central midfield, no Amavi, and Gabby starts.
Fuck off and get sacked, Sherwood.
-
Ki, shelvey and sigurdsson against gana, Bacuna and grealish (I guess??)

I think his only thinking is to pick players that can press whenever Swansea have the ball. That's fair enough but it's one dimensional thinking. It's also too bloody defensive. We're going to spend a lot of the match without the ball which will limit the chances we can create and give them the best chance of scoring.
I agree with the comment about likening Sherwood to a forum poster. You don't expect this sort of thing from a Premier League manager. I've never seen such tactical naivety from a top flight manager.
I just don't understand what goes on with our coaching teams. Lambert ended up with a coaching staff of about 3, with the team looking disorganised and clueless. Now we've got quite a full coaching staff but the tactics and changes (or lack of in the case of the Liverpool game) have been ridiculous. It's quite incredible to be in a situation where us average punters have more of a clue than a guy being paid about £2m a year (and whatever his coaching staff get paid).
Our board have been way to lenient letting this go on for so long and shows a lack of football understanding on their part too.
-
He's a substance abuser. Can anyone think of a better reason?
Either that out he is being vindictive knowing they want him out. I reckon drink as a skunk is the reason for this today though!
-
He's a substance abuser. Can anyone think of a better reason?
He's not on enough drugs to be watching Stourbridge v Kiddeminster in the rain ;)
-
He's done it again, throw names at the wall and see what sticks. Against a passing team like Swansea this seems suicidal. Bacuna and Gana holding I guess.
-
Totally ridiculous line up, he 100% wants to be sacked. I simply cannot begin to understand the rationale for that line up.
Oh well at least he will be gone by tomorrow
-
He's a substance abuser. Can anyone think of a better reason?
He is a man of little substance!
-
He's a substance abuser. Can anyone think of a better reason?
He's from another dimension of time and space?
-
He is a tactical genius!
-
It's his version of a suicide note.
-
He's got two left backs on the fucking bench. He really is taking the piss. I think he wants to show with this line up his mates in the press how limited his squad is. As I said, the seven on the bench would beat his team today.
-
Win please.
-
Thats a side nailed on for defeat. The only positive is we can move on from this clown after he gets the boot tomorrow ...... PLEASE LORD
-
Let's try something completely different in the hope it works. I am just glad he is not a doctor or something else where he could do real harm.
-
He's a substance abuser. Can anyone think of a better reason?
He's daring them to sack him because he knows he's out of his depth and wants out, but he knows that everyone knows that he's out of his depth which means that he'll never work again unless he can get on the Sky hyperbole machine gravy train so he really needs his pay-off.
Either that or the blindfolded darts joke is actually true.
-
Have we in all our history ever had a manager that has deliberately selected a team to lose?
-
Tim Sherwood just on SSN..."It's a cup final for us...we 'll be on the front foot, I couldn't get anymore centre forwards on the pitch to be honest today"...a cup final you say? Well looks like we're going to lose 4-0 again then. *facepalm*
-
That's a bollocks-to-the-lot-of-you-just-give-me-the-compo team. Even by that standard it is totally weird.
-
What an interesting line up.
I saw Tom Ross retweeted a chap trying to give away some freebies for the game today. I opted against going.
-
Would any of us pick that line up? It's crap. Far too light in midfield. Every week there is yet another random line up.
-
Since when did getting as many centre forwards on the pitch as possible become the tactic of a good manager to start a game with?
-
Someone on the BBC website just made the point that the Bayern side is like a Garth Croooks team of the week where the players in positions/role makes zero sense in an actual match.
It looks with the today's lineup he's used some random selection criteria to pick 11 players and then just sent them out to play. Maybe who turned up training earliest in the week??
-
Win please and then do one please Tim.
-
Bacuna - agh!!!!!
-
Tim Sherwood just on SSN..."It's a cup final for us...we 'll be on the front foot, I couldn't get anymore centre forwards on the pitch to be honest today"...a cup final you say? Well looks like we're going to lose 4-0 again then. *facepalm*
Says it all really.
-
What the fudge is that lineup?! Richardson, Bacuna, Agbonlahor, our team and squad is piss poor and today's ridiculous lineup has highlighted it even more.
Hope he proves me wrong but Swansea are a team who like to pass the ball and control possession, and he hasn't picked a midfield.
0-2, Swansea with 65%+ possession.
-
We're so crap I doubt we can complete the pre-kick off communal arse lick and high fiving without messing it up. 0-3 defeat today I reckon with 3 more bolt on defeats to follow. Grim times at the Villa. Still, have a good afternoon everyone.
-
They have a decent midfield so this is Tim's cunning plan to completely bypass it. He's well and truly lost the plot. On that note, watch us fkin win now!!!
-
Now, it is a very weird team, but let's not pre-judge it. Swansea are out of form, and if the players really go at it early on we could get a big win. I know it doesn't exactly seem likely, and it's not the team any of us would have chosen, but let's see.
-

Because that sort of line up worked so well against Notts County Tim. Effing chancer.
-
What in the name of fuck is that team selection all about?
I was going to watch this but fuck it, my bikes need washing, thanks Tim, be gone by 5 thanks.
-
Eleven names drawn out of a hat?
-
Gabby straight into the team after weeks injured. Nuts.
-
Swansea 8/5 to win this. Should be like printing free money.
-
I pray I'll eat loads of humble pie but I'm sat here wondering why the fuck I'm here to see such a fucking mental lineup as this.
-
Given that line up, a draw would feel very welcome right now. Traore and Gil on the bench, at home, when he REALLY needs a win? Crazy.
-
I pray I'll eat loads of humble pie but I'm sat here wondering why the fuck I'm here to see such a fucking mental lineup as this.
That's how I felt at kick off v Stoke. You sit there in hope but know the selection is all wrong and defeat looms.
-
has Veretout gone home?
-
That possibly ranks as one of the worst first 11's I've ever seen us put out. Fucking abysmal. It's not even just the quality of player either, it's that it just has absolutely zero balance.
It may just be so ridiculous that it works and we win, but the reality will probably be a thoroughly unsurprising Swansea victory. And they'll barely need to break sweat.
-
Goodluck everyone, see you on the other side.
-
I would if I were him
-
I find it strange that we are in a position that our manager gets a multi million pound pay out if he loses (and gets sacked). What kind of incentive is that to win?
-

I'm actually a little shocked at your optimism or pragmatism. You're right about Swansea's form but the one thing we know is they have good players, who like to play possession football. What this line up will now allow them to do is push our powder puff midfield back into our back four and they will press us inside our half for large parts of the game. Pray they are so out of form that the ball doesn't end up at the feet of Ayew or Gomis in the process. The other tactic will be to knock it long to Gestede and hope to Gabby and Grealish play off him. Gestede isn't exactly the best at holding up the ball, and he's most effective running onto crosses. Who's going to provide those?
I hoe you're right Monty, but this team looks incredibly soft and weak in the areas we need to be resolute.
-
Gomis, 5 without a goal. What happens next?
-
Good start, even though the plan is transparently 'get it wide, get it in there.'
-
Ayew looking sharp again
-
Ironic cheers when guzan clears
-
Can anyone explain to me the line up, where is everyone playing?
-
Can anyone explain to me the line up, where is everyone playing?
we're trying to figure it out ourselves.
-
Ironic cheers when guzan clears
Good for confidence that.
-
Ironic cheers when guzan clears
Good for confidence that.
That's what I thought. Stupid dick move to jeer your own player.
-
Ayew looking sharp again
which one?
-
the giving the ball in midfield is creeping in already. Sigurdsson should have done better
-
We're looking okay going forward but - predictably - looking undermanned and overwhelmed in central midfield. A better shot from Gyulfi would have punished us.
-
You're not telling me we haven't got some decent players. Up to the manager to get them playing well. OK so far.
-
Ayew looking sharp again
which one?
Just read on BBC last time the Ayew brothers played against each other, our one came out on top 5-3.
-
Ours tv.
They are starting to pick off the midfield
-
bloody hell. They should have scored there. Sitter missed
-
should be 2-0 down, look at the positives
-
Fuck me lucky from that
-
Ours tv.
They are starting to pick off the midfield
I was being silly mate. And yes, they are starting to get the ball down and push us back. And as usual we don't help ourselves by giving it to them.
-
I'm reminded of a line from one of the Spurs fan articles about Sherwood's tactics: 'high line, but with no pressing.'
-
West Ham beating Chelsea
-
if we fail to lose this game i will eat headgear
-
Guzan's kicking is utterly shit
-
Apart from first 5 minutes we have looked clueless going forward
-
Nice work there by Rudy to carve out something for himself
-
West Ham beating Chelsea
Maybe Abramovich will sack Moanrinho and poach Sherwood (in a very alternative universe)
-
The only rationale I can think of for the starting line up is that Sherwood is actively trying to get fired.
Regardless if we fluke a win today he should be immediately removed from his position after the game
-
Doug there. Don't think he would stand the Sherwood rhetoric this week.
-
Richardson is painfully shit at crossing, how the fuck has he got England caps.
-
Gabby looks like he's back to his best. Picking up the ball and using it very well. Seems well up for it.
-
His best. Great.
-
Wow, Alan Hutton. All that effort to get into a good position and then a shit end product with the cross. Instead of getting wider to give himself more room for the cross he is too narrow.
-
Good foul by Gabby, in a way. The huge hole in the midfield was badly exposed there.
-
All those attacking players and the plan really does just come down to getting the full-backs to cross it to the Big Bloke.
-
This is such a poor game, played by two sides looking devoid of ideas.
-
Hutton's crossing is the only thing that makes Richardson's look decent, pick a guy who's only real value is heading in crosses, pick 2 wide men to cut inside and 2 full backs who can't cross the ball, fucking genius.
-
Huttons crossing been rubbish so far.
-
What a fucking waste of a free kick
-
Huttons crossing been rubbish so far.
Same every week. He gets into some great positions which makes it even more frustrating. How hard can it be to deliver a decent cross, say 1 in 3
-
Fernandez should have been booked not Williams
-
What a fucking waste of a free kick
You could attribute that comment to every set piece we have.
-
Gestede's too slow with his feet and his mind.
-
Badly monty
-
Badly monty
Gestede? Yeah. He's like an ent.
-
Just got in. Slightly mental line-up, but Sherwood's clearly going with the old-fashioned British-style players who speak good English and can therefore nod at the appropriate times during his team talk.
-
best chance so far. Very good header from Gestede
-
Our only attacking player who's been decent is Ayew but he's having to do too much on his own, Gabby is utterly anonymous, Gestede is offering exactly what we know he does and Grealish just can't seem to get into the game. What's the odds on Gabby playing the 90 and Ayew coming off after an hour?
-
It was a poor header i thought toronto.. Got to hit the target from there
-
2nd half or rugby, hmmmm
-

Malaysian spread betters are all over it.
-
I've only watched a couple of minutes, but I strongly suspect 90% of our attacking play has come from Alan Hutton.
-

They'll lose then. Halftime is where the smart money is.

Every time Ayew attacks there is no movement for him.
-
Grealish has been poor. Gil down the right and Ayew more cerebral might help.
-

Gabby's link up play has been great. Ayew has impressed me too. Looks very comfortable with the ball. Grealish is not getting the chance to run at them, playing far too deep.
-
Grealish has been poor. Gil down the right and Ayew more cerebral might help.
It's Gabby that needs to be more cerebral.
-
For anyone interested, in addition to being a goal down, Chelsea have just had Matic sent off for a second yellow. It looked like the linesman had to remind the referee that Matic had already been booked.
-
Punishment for the eyes.
-
good lord. What a terrible first half between allegedly two "Premier League" teams.
-
Dire. What an awful match. Two piss poor sides.
-
How are we not beating them? They look badly out of form.
(Swansea forums will be saying exactly the same thing.)
-
I actually bizarrely think Gabby has been OK. I mean we all know his limitations but when a team gives the ball away like we do, it doesn't hurt having someone who is basically only there to press and harry the opposition.
-
I like the job Flores has done at Watford. They are winning again today at Stoke
-
Well were not loosing but its the same story as last week, a better team would be beating these.
-
2nd half or rugby, hmmmm
My thoughts as well.
Rugby looks a lot more entertaining
-

He's barely touched the ball so I have no idea where you've got that from.
-
Well we weren't as bad as I feared we'd be. A few nice bits of play. Jack has been crap, and fortunately so have most of the Swansea team.
-
Quite enjoyed that. At least we're showing some intent and the midfield hasn't been overrun as well all expected. We're not really creating any real chances though.
-
What a terrible game. Swansea look as bad as us.
-
I am so bored of sitting in this seat, in the cold, watching shit football. That was bereft of ideas, imagination, a plan, from both teams.
-
terrible. take gabby off and bring in gil. grealish and gil might combine better.
-
Very poor game. Gestede is a fucking cart horse. Veretout should be in over Bacuna in the centre.
Anyway Traore down the right wing would have some joy i reckon.
-
I take it we're not very good?
-
Gabby has been ok given his limitations.
-
I'm beginning to think that Jack's just not all that good.
-
Gabby has been ok given his limitations.
Given his form over the last 5 years that is a very low base
-

From all the times he brought others into the game. He's dropped deep to link up the play very well. I can't help you if you can't see it.
-
Not great to watch but we're still in it. Ayew and Hutton have been the brightest sparks. Grealish, Gabby and Rudy need to do more as they're are not even showing for a pass from the Ayew/Hutton down the right who are making decent progress.
-
2nd half or rugby, hmmmm
My thoughts as well.
Rugby looks a lot more entertaining
All 22 players could be sitting in the centre circle doing brass rubbings, and it would still be twice as entertaining as the rugby.
-
I was expecting shitter but then I was expecting Swansea to be a lot better. Do we think Sherwood will go whatever the result? I'm not convinced.
-
I take it we're not very good?
Correct.
Even against a Swansea side who look a shadow of previous seasons
-
I don't think Gabby's been brilliant but he's been much better than normal. He's certainly been better than Gestede, who might be as tall as you like but can't actually bloody move. We might as well have stuck the Chrysler Building up front.
-
Positives Ayew, Gana and Hutton. Ironically I'd bring Hutton off for Sanchez and push Bacuna at right back as he's better going forward than Hutton (Hutton gets into the right positions but then doesnt seem to know what to do)
Gabby is pressing well on occasions. Grealish just not in the game - Gill on for me.
-
Grealish is like that dick who used to be in your school team who thinks he's much better than he is and never puts a shift in when you need it. There, I feel better for saying it.
-
I'm beginning to think that Jack's just not all that good.
He does not appear to be getting the right sort of off-field mentoring support. His enthusiasm and effort seem to have dissipated.
A management challenge. Thanks, Tim.
-

He's played 13 successful passes and most of those have been the absolute basics you'd expect from a striker (take a touch lay it off), you must have really low expectations to think he's been great.
-
I don't think Gabby's been brilliant but he's been much better than normal. He's certainly been better than Gestede, who might be as tall as you like but can't actually bloody move. We might as well have stuck the Chrysler Building up front.
Is it out of contract?
-
Even with some hefty competition of late, I reckon that Gestede is easily the worst player I've seen in a Villa shirt in 20 years. He's an absolute cart horse, and the TV just correctly showed the lazy ****** jogging around when everybody else was pushing forward. Lazy, shit, donkey.
-

Put it to the committee if you like, but it's no use - Tim wants to sign the Gherkin.
-
Gabby hasn't been great. He hasn't been shit either. He's been ok it's that simple.
-
Grealish disappointing...Bacuna looks lost, I'd replace them with Veretout and Gil.
-
It's not been great, but considering how er... experimental the lineup looked it's not been as bad as it could have been.
Let's hope that wasn't our good half.
-
Been a while since I've seen Swansea look so poor. Montero looks decent though so expect Timmy to take Hutton off and move Bacuna there to give him a better chance.
-
Grealish disappointing...Bacuna looks lost, I'd replace them with Veretout and Gil.
No Veretout on the bench
-
Grealish disappointing...Bacuna looks lost, I'd replace them with Veretout and Gil.
Veretout isn't on the bench
-
Meh all round so far. Nothing special.
-

His link up play not his overall play. By his recent standards which were at best poor, he's having a decent game.
-
At half time the commentators in my stream have shown 2 situations where Gestede should be bursting into the area, but instead he barely ran - until it was too late to get into a good position. Urgency is missing.
It has been a poor game. There certainly is a chance of winning here. Looking forward to see what substitutions Sherwood will bring in the second half.
-
Just seen the average position of our 11 in the first half. It's like someone's sneezed them out.
No shape, no structure. It really is time to get someone in who can get the basics right.
-
I asked about Veretout earlier - he's probably seen enough and gone back to France
-
How is he not on the bench even!
-
MAyew has been our best player Jack useless hopefully off after 10 minutes of this half. Why is Bacuna playing so deep and central?
-
It's not been great, but considering how er... experimental the lineup looked it's not been as bad as it could have been.
Let's hope that wasn't our good half.
Indeed. They put a lot of energy into that half. I hope we don't fade away with tired legs as we all scream at Sherwood to make some changes.
-
Great chance for Gabby. He blew it
-
Better from Jack, not an easy chance for Gabby but it was not a good finish at all.
-
Classic Gabby there
-
Gabby, dear oh dear.
-
Good chance Gabby. Not a shock a good couple of feet wide
-
Our only attacking player who's been decent is Ayew but he's having to do too much on his own, Gabby is utterly anonymous, Gestede is offering exactly what we know he does and Grealish just can't seem to get into the game. What's the odds on Gabby playing the 90 and Ayew coming off after an hour?
Gabby's link up play has been great. Ayew has impressed me too. Looks very comfortable with the ball. Grealish is not getting the chance to run at them, playing far too deep.
He's barely touched the ball so I have no idea where you've got that from.
From all the times he brought others into the game. He's dropped deep to link up the play very well. I can't help you if you can't see it.
He's played 13 successful passes and most of those have been the absolute basics you'd expect from a striker (take a touch lay it off), you must have really low expectations to think he's been great.
His link up play not his overall play. By his recent standards which were at best poor, he's having a decent game.
See decent I can accept (although I personally think he isn't involved enough considering he's the senior player in the front 4) the great was was what i objected to, as I say, I think he's largely anonymous, which is what he always does when we're struggling to build anything. And then he misses our best chance of the game, needs to do better there.
-
Fuck! Ayew in acres of space. FFS!
-
Fucking hell. Great work from Bacuna. We really should have scored. Much, much better from us.
-
What in Christ's name is Gestede doing?
-
How many other sides, when they have a throw in, fail to move to give the taker options as often as we do?
-
Gestede you hopeless, lazy bastard. Fuck off.
Great play from Bacuna.
-
Fuck me Gestede react you big oik.
Great from Bacuna. Shows if playing he should be right side midfield
-
I think Sherwood said to them at HT, "Fack it, it's my last game in charge. Go out and Win One For the Gipper"
-
How many other sides, when they have a throw in, fail to move to give the taker options as often as we do?
We've been exactly the same for as long as I can remember. Even under different managers with different players.
-
Randy needs to pay big bucks for a striker in January.
In the meantime, wh ythe fuck aren't we using Kozak? He's no more mobile than Gestede, but at least he has a footballing brain and gets into good positions.
-
I do reckon if Austin had been signed we would not be bottom 3 even with tactics as manager.
-
I do reckon if Austin had been signed we would not be bottom 3 even with tactics as manager.
Cant argue with that.
-
Gestede runs just about enough to give the impression to the untrained eye he's trying.
-
Even with some hefty competition of late, I reckon that Gestede is easily the worst player I've seen in a Villa shirt in 20 years. He's an absolute cart horse, and the TV just correctly showed the lazy c*** jogging around when everybody else was pushing forward. Lazy, shit, donkey.
Did you see Bowery play?
-
Tim's gilet would be of more use than rudy atm
-
The issue with playing Gestede is that completely stifles our creativity. We have to play a certain way to accommodate him so all of the set up in the final third is geared around getting it wide and looping a cross in.
-

Did you see Bowery play?
Yes, my point remins the same.
-
Hutton should be ashamed of that dive!
-
Jesus, when we get it in dangerous positions we haven't got a fecking clue what to do with it.
-

Did you see Bowery play?
Unfair. Bowery at least tried, even if he was shite.
-
Got to say hutton has done well against Montero so far.
-
Best we have played was without him for 60 minutes at Leicester
-
Great spell for us right now. Gana did so well there
-
Gestede is decent in the air, in the box, but absolutely awful at everything else.
-
This is better
-
We've got to beat these, they've been really awful.
-
Again then no one moved for Gana.
-
Gomes went close there
-
Won't get a better chance to win all season. Which worries me.
-
Christ - fuck was that, Lescott?
-
Lescott sleeping
-
I think Sherwood said to them at HT, "Fack it, it's my last game in charge. Go out and Win One For the Gipper"
Gipper?
-
Good old Gipper
-
Ref should have let us play on there.
-
I'd bring Gestede and Gabby off for Traore and Gil. Push Ayew up front and have Traore right wing, Gil tucked behind Ayew in the middle, Grealish on the left. Bacuna and Gana sat behind.
-
Fantastic save from Guzan to deny Ayew
-
Great save guzan
-
YESSSSSSSS AYEW
-
Get in!
-
Get in
-
goal
-
Terrible from Lescott again, but THAT is what Guzan is meant to be good at.
GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL
-
Get in!
-
Great stop Guzan
Ayewwwww×wwwweee
-
Guzan you beaut!
-
Brilliant work from Grealish and Gabby to set up Ayew.
-
Get innnnnn!
-
Jeez have we scored
-
Jordan 1 Andre 0.
-
Don't fucking stop now Villa. This lot are there for the taking
-
Get in
-
Get innnn!!!!!
So chuffed it's Ayew as well.
-
Shocking defending from Swansea there
-
Brilliant save at one end and then excellent from Grealish and a good cross from gabby, that's more like it.
-
Great play by Grealish.
-
Jordan 1 Andre 0.
And how massive is that save from Brad? Otherwise that score would be the other way around.
-
Gestede off for Sanchez. Now you tactical baffoon.
-
God I've woken up at long last!
-
Come on ref, blow up.
-
Great play by Grealish.
And Gabby. Waited for the right moment and delivered a fine ball for Ayew.
-
The question is, does he still go if we win? Would be strange to, but 2 wins and 7 defeats from 10 games is still an awful record, not to mention the awful gobbing off to the press. Tough decision for the board coming up - I hope!
-
Is Abedi Pele in the crowd today?
-
Grealish followed the initial play and created the spacer Ayew too. Fab goal.Gaby lovely assist.
-

I don't think its about the result anymore. It's all of the other stuff that will get him fired. He's thrown the club under the bud with a lot of his comments.
-
free kick to Swansea in Sigurdsson range
-
fuck me 1-1
-
Fuck
-
shit
-
Fuck
-
Well that lasted long
-
c*** it. Good free kick.
-
Jeez!
-
Oh dear.
-
Well fuck me would you believe it.
-
The speed and precision of that counter-attack might have pointed the way to an identity for this side. It's a bit retrograde, a bit O'Neill-esque, but we have the pacy players to do it.
-
Guzan fucked that up imo. No where near the corner of the net
-
Predictable
-
It was the only way they were going to score. Bastards!
-
If he had got a midfielder on straight after the goal and its not a position the centre back is in conceding the free kick.
-
Sunderland repeated by Brad. He is to far over and gives the kicker so much room to aim at
-
Fuck me. No luck whatsoever.
Always rated Sigurdsson. Proper goalscoring midfielder.
-
Another quality bit of organisation from that chump Guzan. Nowhere near the corner that.
-
c*** it. Good free kick.
It is but Guzan is standing too far to his left.
-
Watford 2-0 up
-
Personally I blame Richards he didnt have to go in for the tackle.
-
Nice return pass to Ayew there Rudy
-
Gestede is offering nothing now.
-
Tell you something, Lescott has been really really bad again.
-
Twenty minutes left. Bring on some new players. Change it up a bit. Fuck me.
-
We are going to lose this ifwe are not careful
-
Need to change it now
-
Sunderland repeated by Brad. He is to far over and gives the kicker so much room to aim at
If you watch most other keepers they stand central regardless of the position of the free kick and wall, but Guzan stands too close to one side every time we face a free kick. Bad coaching or bad goalkeeper?
-
Twenty minutes left. Bring on some new players. Change it up a bit. Fuck me.
I'm not sure he'll do any of those. But especially the last one.
-
Tell you something, Lescott has been really really bad again.
Ditto Richardson
-
Gana and Bacuna are out in their feet. Still no change.
-
Common Gil..
-
Well that's a safe sub.
-
Well that's a safe sub.
Why is Gestede still on the pitch?
-
Is that James Beattie on their bench? Is he a coach there?
-
Its beyond hope
-
How are we playing is it an improvement?
-
When you consider the effectiveness of our light / speedy attack at Leicester, I am amazed that Dim Tim has persisted with Gestede.
-
Is that James Beattie on their bench? Is he a coach there?
Yep
-
Gestede had not had a touch to positively effect the game for about half an hour. Fucking useless manager.
-
What Barrow just did to Richardson is what Traore should be doing to Taylor
-
Get Gestede off ffs
-
well is this going to be Tim's final countdown?
-
Lescott isn't very good. A signing made about eight years too late.
-
Traore for Gestede is a good call
-
Gestede would be shit enough if he actually put a shift, but the fact that the useless fucker can barely break into a jog is just adding insult to injury. It's a 0/10 performance from him so far, utterly shit at everything.
-
Gestede is such a donkey. Or Giraffe or something similar
-
Kozak where are you
-
The thing is, I think Gestede could be useful with the right leadership. It seems that Sherwood isn't the right man for it.
-
What worries me is we get presented with teams like Swansea today, who have been truly awful, and we still can't win games.
It hasn't been awful today but it doesn't really look like any advances have been made
-
I honestly reckon I could control a ball better than Gestede, and my record at keepy ups is about 4.
-
A draw might keep Tim in a job for a while longer
-
we should be lined up like this now
--------------------BACUNA----------GANA------------------
----TRAORE---------------GIL-----------------GREALISH----
---------------------------AYEW------------------------------
I'd even bring on Amavi for Richardson to keep Barrow quiet and get forward to help the attack
-
Toronto, you know that, I know that. The worrying thing is the only person who doesn't is the one in charge. Christ.
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
-
Lovely play Gueye, good effort Ayew. Ayew has looked decent today.
-
Good to know Chelsea are being dragged into the relegation battle with us.
-
Ayew is a decent player. Gabby had looked better. The attack could be useful without a lump taking up space
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
Since the seventeenth minute 😉
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
Other scores
Leicester 1-0 Palace
Norwich 0-1 WBA
Stoke 0-2 Watford
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
Since the seventeenth minute 😉
they just took the lead again
-
fuck me Gestede stays on, Gabby who has played well is off. Fucking crazy
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
Since the seventeenth minute 😉
I think youll find Chelsea equalised ;)
-
Lescot gifted shelvey that chance.
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
Since the seventeenth minute 😉
Apart from the period after Chelsea equalised 😜
-
West Ham beating Chelsea.
Since the seventeenth minute 😉
they just took the lead again
Gotcha, soz Riss.
-
Great chance Shelvey. I maintain if we had changed Gestede for Sanchez after our goal we would be much better off now.
-
fuck me
-
Bye bye Tim.
-
Bye Tim
-
Losing
-
fuckkkk
-
Bye bye Tim.
-
Hasta luego
-
Jesus, just take Gestede off you hopeless Cickny twonk.
-
Fuuuuuuck.
-
You utter, utter useless wanker Sherwood.
-
whos marking him?
-
will Tim wave bye bye as he trudges down the touch line
-
Lose this and he has to be on his bike. No excuses.
-
Nice knowing you Tim.
-
'Twas ever thus.
-
I'll stick a quid on them scoring again now.
-
Richardson has been fucking around for the last five minutes, no wonder they get some space over that side.
-
It's all not very good
-
But Tim said we'd win?!
-
We needed three extra midfielder on 20 minutes ago. Yet again. Woe fucking full.fuckk off Sherwood you useless fucking arsehole.
-
will Tim wave bye bye as he trudges down the touch line
His gilet will be on ebay tonight
-
I feel sick.
-
Richardson has been fucking around for the last five minutes, no wonder they get some space over that side.
Barrow has had him on toast.
-
On your fucking bike, you chancer
-
Oh well, see ya Timmy
-
I feel sick.
Try look at the bright side...I am
-
Oh well 28 games to save ourselves
-
The only silver lining is that Tim as properly gone now. He simply must be sacked. Escorted from the building and never darken our doors again. Utter tosser
-
Corner. Let's get a point out of this.
-
On your fucking bike, you chancer
And do let door hit you on your pathetic arse on the way out, you massive twat.
-
Doesn't matter who the boss is, this team is shite
-
Don't close the door on the way out.
-
You useless shit Lescott
-
Keeping Richardson and Gestede on was fucking stupid, both have been shit. I don't know how he decides who to sub because it's fuck all to do with performances.
-
wish i'd put money on the 2 brothers scoring, what were the odds?
-
Lescott misses from 3 yards.
-
He's got absolutely no idea how to control a game tactically. His changes don't seem to have anything to do with what's actually happening on the pitch.
-
Moyes where are you!
-
Why when we took the lead were lessons not learned from the past with getting a fucking midfielder on????
-
I feel sick.
Try look at the bright side...I am
We need the points more right now. We can sack him after Southampton or next weekend.
-
On your fucking bike, you chancer
And do let door hit you on your pathetic arse on the way out, you massive twat.
Don't let this get personal. Leave the bellend alone.
-
Moyes where are you!
Moyes
Brendan
My gran.
Anyone.
-
On a positive note, Andre Ayew is in my fantasy football team!
-
Be a few ITKs about tonight
-
West Ham will be in second place with a win today
-
Sacked after the whistle, please Villa.
Although who the board would get in scares the shit out of me. No ambition or imagination whatsoever.
-
Lets hope it's the end.
-
Swansea just passing the ball between themselves now
-
Doesn't matter who the boss is, this team is shite
I think the complete opposite. I'm very encouraged by many individual performances today. It's the twat of a manager that's the weak link.
-
Be a few ITKs about tonight
I don't think you'll need to be ITK to know what's happening next
-
Can we just resign from the Premier League now and save us 7 more months of embarrassment?
-
On a positive note, Andre Ayew is in my fantasy football team!
Great news mate. I'm a bit disappointed that I've got Costa as my captain.
-
Get Phil Thompson in.
-
He should have went 3 weeks ago.
Fox you better act
-
Why when we took the lead were lessons not learned from the past with getting a fucking midfielder on????
That is it: what defines a bad manager is one who fails to learn from previous experience.
Night, night Timmy.
-
We are down whatever happens i reckon.
-
I think Ayew has just done hs brother a massive favour.
-
Doesn't matter who the boss is, this team is shite
I think the complete opposite. I'm very encouraged by many individual performances today. It's the twat of a manager that's the weak link.
Yep 100% agree. There's a lot of technically gifted players there. We'd be way more fucked if Sherwood got his way and we were being left with his choice of players.
-
Doesn't matter who the boss is, this team is shite
I think the complete opposite. I'm very encouraged by many individual performances today. It's the twat of a manager that's the weak link.
I dont think its a brilliant team but a decent manager could get us mid table with this squad.
-
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
All over
-
We are down whatever happens i reckon.
way too early for that, but we are in fucking trouble no doubt
-
bbboooooo
-
See ya Tim
-
I'd respect him if he resigned
There is a scenario in which he is still manager next weekend
-
Jordan Ayew looks fucking devastated as his brother comes over to swap kits
-
Arrogant bastard wont learn.
-
I think he will resign in the next two hours.
-
Keeping Richardson and Gestede on was fucking stupid, both have been shit. I don't know how he decides who to sub because it's fuck all to do with performances.
We have TWO left backs on the bench. Leaving Gestede on is undefendable.
-
Why when we took the lead were lessons not learned from the past with getting a fucking midfielder on????
That is it: what defines a bad manager is one who fails to learn from previous experience.
Night, night Timmy.
At least when they're a manager with less than 50 games of experience, you have to show that you can learn fast or you're out of your depth, and he's learnt fuck all since he arrived, other than being shit doesn't matter to the media so long as you're pally with them.
-
Yep, this is one of the better squads than we've had since Houllier's time I reckon.
-
And me but, I need to take any bonus I can from this resul
