Last weekend's match got me thinking..
We always seem to concede late to lose games but how often do we actually score late winners?
Apart from Ashley Young against Everton and Der Hammer against albion I'm struggling to think of any from the last 20 years or so!
There must have been others, can anyone refresh my memory?
Are there any that stick in your mind going further back?

Albion last season.

Of course! As if I forgot that one :o
-
Alan Thompson last minute winner at Hillsbrough in 2000 (?). Ugo scoring a late winner at home to Sheffield Wednesday to take us to the top of the Premier League - 1998? Solano at home to Blackburn....
-
I remember Shaun Maloney 07/08 getting one against Fulham at home, and even then thought it had been ages since we'd had one!
I seem to recall one at home to West Ham during 01/02 or 02/03 aswell.
Andi Weimann vs Fulham at home under McLeish probably kept us up too
-
Gabby header at West Ham as well :)
UTV
The Doc
-
Gabby x2 against Blues.
Robbie Keane against Wolves.
Benteke against Blackpool in the cup last year.
-
Withe against the stipey's in 1981
I remember Andy Townsend scoring a last minute winner at Highbury, plus Dean Saunders in a 4-3 win at Spurs in the 90s.
-
Chris Price at Highbury was a late one iirc.
-
Not quite the same thing, but I remember being in the Away end at The Valley when Claus Jensen missed a penalty in the last minute to give us a 2-1 win there, in 2004.
-
Brian Little, League Cup Final second replay, 1977. He scored the winner in the last minute of extra time.
-
1970 League Cup Quarter Final versus Bristol Rovers. 1-0 Pat McMahon way into added time IIRC.
-
The three I was going to mention have already been posted - and are all over a quarter of a century ago: Sir Brian to win the League Cup, Withey to put us two points closer to the League and Chrissie Price in SGT's almost season. Sometimes we have done it it at the death when it matters!
-
Dwight Yorke against Derby County when he scored from a Mart Poom error.
Merson's lob against Everton. What a dire match that was.

Ah, the famous 'banned from doing the Sky fan thing ever again' match.
-
Ormsby at West Ham from 40 yards?
Chris Price at Arsenal
Andy Gray at Arsenal
-
If I remember right Chris Price's goal at Highbury was in the last last ten minutes (maybe around the 85 min mark) after he had previously missed a chance and a mate who was at the game with us declared he would never scored for us as long as he had a hole in his arse. The first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title 'Late Winners' was Spartak Moscow knocking us out of the UEFA Cup in 1983. The same year that you could argue Juventus scored the earliest ever two legged winner in European Cup history against us.
-
One that takes some beating is Peter Withe's last minute winner in 1981 - a superb through ball played by Brendan Batson ! :)
-
Solano got one against Blackburn I think, in an otherwise dreadful match. As well as Maloney's late winner against Fulham, didn't we beat them another time late on when their keeper fumbled a shot? (Possibly Weimann scoring)?
The West Brom one was great, as we'd pummelled them all game and it looked like they would get a draw.
Others have mentioned Gabby against the Blues.
-
Crouch at Boro
-
Der Hammer away at Bolton.
-
-
Gary Shaw scored the only goal of the game late on against Small Heath on Easter Monday '83 if I remember right. Maybe around 85 minutes? Also I think Warren Aspinall's crucial winner at home to Shrewsbury very late in the promotion season was around the same time in that game. And wasn't it the same with Staunton's winner in BFR's first game at Sheffield Wednesday?
-
That was great, we were rubbish for 90 minutes and then he does that. I remember a Nose relative being very upset about it and saying "lucky git, he was trying to clear it".
-
Benteke at Swindon in Lambert's first year
-
Not a winner as we were already winning the match but the most dramatic late goal I cna think of is sureley Dalian Atkinson v Tranmere in the semi final to take it into extra time. Pandemonium!
Other than that the Withe v West Brom goal in 81 was huge

Moving on from what that goal meant - going on to win on pens and winning the final against Newton Heath -
Following on from that - Phil King's winning penalty in the shoot out v Inter Milan - in one of the most dramatic games I've seen in 48 years of going to VP

Weimann against Fulham.
