Fuck the fuckers.
-
Guzan, Hutton, Richards, Clark, Amavi, Bacuna, Gana, Westwood, Sanchez, Gestede, Sinclair
subs: Bunn, Bennett, Gil, Cole, Veretout, Kozak, Ayew
-
Real blow not to have Grealish or Traore today
-
No Traore, Grealish or Gabby at all.
Would have liked to see Gil make a start.
Not sure about this.
-
Grealish ill?
-
Gabby must be one of the sick notes
-
Grealish ill?
Turned his ankle in training.
-
Not a huge amount of creativity in that team, shame Grealish/Adama are injured.
-
Doesn't look like too much guile in that team. Hope were not just launching it to Gestede. Important that he's not isolated and Sinclair works close to him. Make us proud boys. UTV.
-
Packed the midfield, looking for Bacuna ( midfield ) and Scotty too hotty to supply the amo for Gestede. Yes we lack the spark of a Grealish or the pace and skills of Traore but Gil could come on and nice to see Libor on the bench too.
-
Is that a 4-3-3, then?
Guzan
Hutton Richards Clark Amavi
Sanchez
Gana Westwood
Bacuna Sinclair
Gestede
-
Big onus on Westwood today. It's about time he was pushed forward and imposed himself more in the final third. He's got to be the playmaker today. No one else will do it.
Also a big day for Sinclair. He's got to follow up tuesdays display and deliver again.
-
A big shame about Grealish and Traore.
It's the midfield where Villa are lacking-very one dimensional, unless Gueye is given license to roam. I would have liked to see Veretout instead of Westwood, with Sanchez protecting the defence. Gil should be starting this. Hopefully he'll come on at half time and inspire us if we're not playing very well.
Still, no Gabby which is encouraging for many.
I think it'll be 0-0, but hopefully, I'm wrong.
Come on Villa!!
-
Not sure what Sherwood is thinking with that line up. The midfield four looks very flat. Maybe he's expecting Sunderland to park the bus as they did last week at Swansea. Our attack will probably consist of hoofs up to Gestede or relying on Bacuna and Amavi to get a few crosses in.
I expect we'll see Gil come on later when we're struggling for ideas. Would have loved to have seen Grealish running at these.
-
It's difficult to say, what with not knowing the full extent of the illness in the squad, but if possible I would have played;
Guzan
Hutton Richards Clark Amavi
Gana Sanchez
Gil Veretout Sinclair
Gestede

Mind you, hoofs up to Gestede may well be quite effective against this lot.
-
Dont think Ive ever seen Bacuna play well on the right of midfield. At least we will have pace on the flanks but playing all three of Sanchez, Westwood and Gueye together is nonsense. Either Gil or Veretout should be starting and possibly both.
-
Is that a 4-3-3, then?
Guzan
Hutton Richards Clark Amavi
Sanchez
Gana Westwood
Bacuna Sinclair
Gestede
Yeah, this is what I would expect. Bacuna to chuck in some crosses, Sinclair coming inside and Amavi providing our left-sided width. If we're struggling for creativity, Gil and/or Veretout off the bench.
-
Let's see if Gueye is allowed to play his preferred box to box role. We definitely need some attacking threat through the middle.
-
Don't know about the illness constraints but that team looks awfully low on attacking quality and creativity. Sunderland have lens and Defoe where we have Sinclair and bacuna
Hopefully the gestede route pays off then
-
Possibly our easiest game of the season. 3-0
-
Its a strange lineup but we can only assume the illnesses and injury have played a part in the selection. Grealish would have been nailed on to play were he fit and Troare probably.
I think the key for me today is our bench. Can Gil, Veretout or Ayew provide something should they be called upon? Or even Joe Cole? 15 minutes to potentially turn things might not be beyond him.
-
I would imagine gabby is sick , shame would have liked to see if tim would have dropped him.
We will miss jack.
-
All of our attackers on Tuesday and all our defenders on Saturday?
Fair enough.
-

My initial reaction was the same. I had been thinking of starting a thread along the line of "do you think we will ever see Trarore, Gil and Grealish selected in a starting lineup in the PL?". Now we are playing one of the worst teams in our league, Traore and Grealish are injured, and still no Gil.
-
The only thing I can say is that we have no idea who is and who has been affected by this illness. It could be that Gil had it and isn't feeling 100% yet as these bugs knock two shades of shit out of you.
It looks like a bit of a patching job to me and not how Tim would have liked to have set out on balance. We'll see.
-
No Grealish or Adama is a big blow. Come on Villa.
-
Well, I feel ill. But that might be due to a large intake of alcohol and watching The Bears get trounced in the Rounders by a load of 16 stone fat fuckers.
Come on you lions!
-
I'm not sure what Bacuna has done to earn A) A new contract or B) To be playing in Midfield. The guy is undoubtably talented but one of the laziest players I've seen in a Villa shirt and I've seen Nigel Callaghan..... 1-1 today.
-
"Hutton can get forward as he has the reassurance that Bacuna knows how to defend".
Hmmm.
-
West Ham leading at Anfield
-
On the front foot and getting at them so far. Positive start.
-
Although a dangerous free kick against us now, Amavi giving away the foul.
-
Bollocks.
-
Oh dear
-
For fucks sake.
-
The new signings are settling in wonderfully......
-
Fuckit, goal down and just heard it's Pat Murphy at VP...
-
the free kick came because there is so much space between defence and midfield - he seems not to have told all the midfielders who should sit and who should support the attackers
-
naive from Amavi, Guzan slow to move
-
here we go , same old same old!! Come on Villa
-
Pen
-
Penalty
-
We don't half make it hard on ourselves. Fuck me against this shower also.
-
penalty!
-
Penalty!
-
Penalty!
-
Still reckon we'll win this one fairly straightforwardly.
-
C'mon now...
-
Penalty!
-
Get in!
-
Thank god
-
Great pen. You don't save those.
-
Well done, lad.
-
Thank god Scott!
-
Cattermole reliable as ever. Cheers mate.
-
Ok breathe again. Just two more to get now Scotty
-
Stupid free kick but as ever team out of form playing rubbish come to Villa Park and score an easy goal.
Gestede far too on his heels in open play for me.
-
Good penalty!
-
scott sinclair top man
-
I put money on 3-1 us so all going to plan
-
You can always trust Cattermole can't you to offer a helping hand.
-
I have no idea what the fuck Cattermole was doing there for the penalty! Really really stupid.
Not that I mind.
-
I put money on 3-1 us so all going to plan
Yep I had 3-1 also. I just didn't expect them to score first.
-
He's, er….he's not that good, that Bacuna, is he?
-
Scotty is a very important player to us.
-
He's, er….he's not that good, that Bacuna, is he?
Hit and miss.
-
I mean, if you;re going to have someone in the free role, floating about at the top end of the pitch, you'd choose Gil, wouldn't you? If Grealish is unavailable?
Maybe Bacuna can drop back and help out defensively a bit more, I suppose.
-
Good from Westy. Making some runs and getting around the box. Shame about the finish.
Cattermole is a fucking astonishingly gash player it must be said.
-
Occasionally Bacuna does something good, or something very classy, as demonstrated by his goals at the club (which are becoming distant memories). Other times he looks like he's never seen a football in his life. He occasionally looks like a kitten with a ball of yarn.
-
I thought Gil had a cracking game last Tuesday night. He should be playing instead of Bacuna.
-
A bit sluggish, Gestede, isn't he?
If we can get to the byline and whip crosses 'back' if you see what I mean, then I think he'll score loads. If we cross in from midway in their half, I'm not sure he's very effective.
With Sinclair and especially Traore, though, we should be able to provide more of the former.
-
Sunderland have no pace at all, do they? They look an awful side.
And I'm surprised their supporters haven't been demonstrating against Cattermole's continued inclusion. What a dire excuse for a footballer.
-
Blimey Sunderland look terrible.
-
I hope Amavi isn't another Luna. Starts well, but gets progressively worse.
-
I hope Amavi isn't another Luna. Starts well, but gets progressively worse.
Absolutely no chance!
I really like the look of Gana, I must say. Very good player so far.
-
Gestede needs to be a lot more lively.
-
Very important we win this.
-
Blimey Sunderland look terrible.
The certainly are, we must get 3 points here
-
Gana and Sanchez are running midfield. They look very good.
-
Gana and Sanchez are running midfield. They look very good.
Yep. I think it's going to work, that pairing.
-
i never understand why refs allow the amount of holding
-
I think we have been pretty poor so far, no shape to our midfield whatsoever and Gestede has been really poor so far
But Sunderland are disgracefully bad, if we get any head of steam up it could be another 6-1 type scoreline.
Need Gil on at the break
-
If we don't buy a CF in the next 2 days I'll be pretty worried. We're still short. I think Kozak needs to play more as things stand.
-
I think we have been pretty poor so far, no shape to our midfield whatsoever
I'm really surprised to hear that - I think the midfield looks very fluid, very focussed, with Gana and Westwood switching frequently and Sanchez sitting deeper to act as a 'blocker'. Opinions, eh?!
-

Yeah I'm surprised too. It's really not that bad all things considered
-
I don;t know why it's so funny when Liverpool fuck up, but it really is!
-
Decent move with Hutton moving forward....not the best of balls
-
Gestede is having a mare. But he's one of those players who's probably not going to offer much if he's not scoring. Ultimately I think he'll be a better impact player than regular starter. But we also need to be a bit more imaginitive about how we get the ball to him.
-
Stoke down to 9 men, LOL!
-
Not watching so cannot comment too much, however with the team as it is, you'd hope we can make some really positive substitutions in the second half without losing any momentum. Gil looks an ideal swap for Bacuna and Vertout for any of the midfield three. Ayew probably needs a run too.
-
Should have been second penalty
-
Shouldn't that be a penalty, then?
-
Awful free kick from Bacuna...awful. Stop trying to smash the cross in, pick a bloody man out.
-
Awful free kick there
-
Oh Bacuna....compose yourself son.
-

East afternoon for Hutton so far!
-
Poor from Sinclair there. Miles offside leaving Hutton little option.
Poor finish from Bacuna.
-
we should be ahead and could pay for lack of finishing
-
Gil needs to come on. Kozak would be loving this
-
There's some pretty average footballers in our team.
-
GET IN!!!!!
-
SCOTTY!!!
-
Yeaaahhhhh lovely break, Scotty too hotty from 3 yards out
-
Five in a week! Love it
-
Take a bow Scott Sinclair. Great movement from him. Great break. Sinclair is brilliant at that.
-
Oh my!
That is a really good goal! Terrific pass from Gana!
-
Clearly Gana, Amavi and Scotty aren't!
-
'All fart, no shit' strikes again.
-
Fucking 5 in 2 for Scotty!!!!!
-
Scott to take Gabs place for good.
-
Very classy from Gana in the build up too.
-
And what a cross from Amavi! That is a lovely goal!
Sinclair is a striker! Seriously!
-
Talksport saying Kaboul is Mackems MOM. Is this is a damning indictment of Gestedes performance?
-
Sinclair is showing why he should start ahead of Gabby
-
If we don't buy a CF in the next 2 days I'll be pretty worried. We're still short. I think Kozak needs to play more as things stand.
With Sinclair playing like he is, not sure we need one!
-
Great stuff there.
Nice cross from Amavi
-
AVTV is rubbish missed that goal with another drop out!
Why can't they just deliver what they promise when they take my money. Rubbish!
-
Thats why he has the No.9 Shirt.
-
Scott to take Gabs place for good.
Yep. I wouldn't fancy Gabby to get 5 this season let alone 5 in a week.
-
Sinclair is a bit like Henry through the middle. Gana looks v good as does Amanvi
-
I just love how gets into the right positions.
-
Bloody hell. Lovely move and another tap in for Sinclair after a well timed run.
Can't believe how poor Sunderland are defensively. We really need to open them up and we'll have a cricket score.
-
We haven't had a proper aerial presence in midfield for ages....Sanchez beasting it with every ball in the air.
-
Goal is here

FTFY.
;-)
-
If Rudy scores one, his confidence will come
-
I just love how gets into the right positions.
Me too. It's intelligence and instinct. He seems to display plenty of both in the box.
-
Thought we more or less dominated.
-
Goal is here
https://streamable.com/fq56
That is a proper strikers goal. Brilliant cross and in absolutely the right spot to finish. Mind you Sunderland are utterly gash, and they have to be thanking their lucky stars Grealish and Traore aren't attacking the flanks. There's more goals in here for us, we just need to keep at them. Not a bad first half at all.
-
That pass from Gana to get Amavi in was just lovely….

True, cheers

Ha! Yeah, would love to watch Traore against this lot!
-
Excellent cross from Amavi.
-
Time to shine number 9!
-
Good first half by us, but I'm glad we took the lead as surely Sunderland won't be as shit as they have been in the second half.
-
Fucking West Ham. They could be getting wins vs Arsenal and Liverpool away and have been gash or just average in their other games.
And how's it going their CB? Not so good huh big man? Enjoy the pressure son.
-
interesting position Bacuna is playing, seems to have a free role, would like to see Gil given a go there.
-
Talksport saying Kaboul is Mackems MOM. Is this is a damning indictment of Gestedes performance?
Gestede hasnt been great alright but improved in last 5-10 mins of the half.
Super second goal for us, Sinclair keeps getting in those positions. Great play from Gueye and a superb assist from Amavi
Wouldnt take much from us to beat these by 4 or 5 today.
Hutton having a decent return to the side, doesnt always produce quality when in good positions but has pushed on well
-
Gestede has been getting a little better in the last 10 minutes. Get a good ball in and he'll have some joy I think. If not I'd bring Libor on at 60 minutes.
Sinclair has played well. Great movement for the goal. I know people suggest playing him up front in a central role but I think the key to Scotty ghosting defenders is coming in deep from the left.
Gana and Sanchez look very good in midfield. Amavi has been quality too. I'd like Westwood to drive forward with the ball more and up his tempo. He needs to be threading balls from outside the penalty box, but he's still too deep and laboured at times. He's made a couple of good runs though.
Bacuna has struggled. If we bring on Gil, he could have a field day out here. Hutton has played well too. He should be first choice. He's tougher and more disciplined on the right. I think playing Amavi and Bacuna as fullbacks is asking for trouble.
I really do like Richards too. Very impressed with him so far this season.
-
Sanchez is in his Copa America form, looks like a real player who is up to speed with the league now.
-
interesting position Bacuna is playing, seems to have a free role, would like to see Gil given a go there.
I think that will come. Bacuna is softening them up, tiring them out, so Gil can come on a finish them off whilst chasing the game.
-
Another couple of goals to overtake Bournemouth on GD. 8th.
-
Goal reminds me of deano vs Liverpool. Tranmere at home too.
-
According to OptaJoe, Amavi has made more dribbles than any other player in the league.
-
I wonder if this is a game Ayew could get some joy? Their backline isn't very good, particularly the fullbacks. A goal would do Ayew wonders I think.
-
According to OptaJoe, Amavi has made more dribbles than any other player in the league.
If this took into account time in the canteen, then Gabby would be walking away with that honour.
-
2-1 less than deserved. It's been very frustrating first half. If only we were better with the last ball or had better options than Gestede, Bacuna and Hutton. Guzan at fault with their goal however once again error by Amavi in giving free kick.
-
It's tempting to 'twist' at this point. I'd love to see Gil come on and see if he could create just a little more in Bacuna's role…but then Bacuna IS working very hard, and we're winning, and fairly comfortably.
I think I might just bring on Ayew for Gestede.
-
As well as we've played, you have to take into account how crap Sunderland are.
We should look good against this level of opposition, otherwise we'll be in the bottom 4 or 5, so we need to take the opportunity to score a hat full.
-
I was about to have a moan about our forwards, neither contributed anything in that half other than a well taken penalty. Then up pops Sinclair with a well timed run, the type we've seen Gabby do so many times in the past and suddenly it's 2-1.
Part of the problem is despite getting in loads of crosses, they're generally high balls, which plays to Sunderland's defences only strength or over hit. Improve them and we'll slaughter them.
I hope we see Gil on, preferably for Bacuna or Westwood.
-
Good first half by us, but I'm glad we took the lead as surely {they} won't be as shit as they have been in the second half.
I remember thinking that quite often about us.....
-
Fucking West Ham. They could be getting wins vs Arsenal and Liverpool away and have been gash or just average in their other games.
And how's it going their CB? Not so good huh big man? Enjoy the pressure son.
Eh?
-
Sinclair is vital to us.
-
Kozak will be on second half.
-
We deserve our lead and Cattermole should have been sent off but these are 2 poor sides. I know we are missing key players and waiting for things to gel so I suppose I should cut them some slack.
Cattermole off!
-
Toivonen on for them. He's a reputation as a hard man so probably on the clatter Sinclair.
-
Sinclair is vital to us.
His goals certainly are. ;)
-
I'd like to see some earlyish subs ~60 mins, Kozak and Gil on for Gestede and Bacuna
-
I'll admit, I wasn't sure on the Sinclair signing...felt it was never going to work, looked a bit powder puff.
Glad it has or is working.
-
Oh fuck off
-
Bollocks and fucking cock
-
For fucks sake, how easy was that?
-
Fucks sake villa
-
Terrible sloppy passing, blasting it at Gestede and we lose the ball oh dear.
-
Fucking terrible from Sanchez there.
-
FFS.
-
Was that westwoods shitty pass to carlos then?
-
We are unbelievably sloppy at times
-
Clark was far too easily beaten.
-
Clark needed to be much tighter on him then.
-
Fucking terrible from Sanchez there.
No way, the pass to him was awful
-
How many deflected goals can we fucking well let in.
Gestede is way too static.
Kozak and Gil for Bacuna and Gestede for me.
-
Westwood plays a ridiculous pass and Sanchez isn't liking Toivonen.
-
Our defence is causing great concern.....
-
Gestede needs to contribute a lot more.
-
Does anyone still seriously think Clark is a PL quality CB? That was fucking abysmal and the second time in a week he's been at fault for a goal.
-
Sanchez is abysmal
-
No discipline, bloody stupid giving away soft goals to poor sides like these
-
Clark's defending there was exactly what I do on FIFA. That's how shit it was.
-
Terrible defending from Clark
-
Also, how many times has Sherwood been done by half time changes by the opposition!
-
Clark has got to do a lot lot better. With the amount of possession we've had we should be winning comfortably, but it's the sort of game we might lose.
-
That was really really bad defending from Clark. Unprofessional.
-
Someone needs to sit and mark that fucking Toivonen. He's the one causing all the problems.
-
Also, how many times has Sherwood been done by half time changes by the opposition!
You can't blame the manager for things like that....that's nit picking to the extreme.
-
NSFW 2-2

This. Come on Tim prove you're not a shit manager.
-
Clark needed to be much tighter on him then.
woeful from him again, sold himself completely like for his yellow in the first half
drawing with these is shocking, their two subs have improved matters though
Sanchez not getting matters his own way now in midfield
lets see what our esteemed leader comes up with now on the sideline....
-
Amazing how some of the posters change from their first half opinions about players to those in the second.
-
How many times do we have to witness the same old stuff over and over again. Sunderland are all over Villa! at the moment. Changes needed! and soon!
-
Kozak please, Tim
-
Not been that impressed with Clark recently he was at fault against Man Utd. Fletcher won an easy header against him at the beginning of the first half and that defending for the goal was woeful. Hopefully Lescott is coming in.
-
Also, how many times has Sherwood been done by half time changes by the opposition!
You can't blame the manager for things like that....that's nit picking to the extreme.
Nit picking that on a number of occasions the oppisition change to counteract us at half time, but we don't react to it to negate it? I think it is tactically slow.
-
How did that not go in!!!!!!!!
-
What the fuck happened there? Looked in.
-
Great touch Rudy
-
Struggling now.
-
Really open game, the whole league has gone bad defensively.
-

You can't foresee the future until play has passed for a while. I don't think any tactical switch would of made Westwoods smashed pass any more easier to control.
-
Amazing how some of the posters change from their first half opinions about players to those in the second.
When you've just survived relegation for the third season running you look at games we have to win and this is one, no wonder people get pissed off.
-
But you must see that they are much more in the game and we had started slowly, I said 30seconds before their changes have made them much more dangerous.
-
I do get the impression that Sherwood is one of these managers who believes the team should impose itself on the opposition, rather than react to what they're doing.
-
But you must see that they are much more in the game and we had started slowly, I said 30seconds before their changes have made them much more dangerous.
I think most teams who are losing get the hair dryer at half time and come out with a kick up the arse....it's standard. I'm just not a fan of every goal conceded is down to the manager not doing this or that. He's young, inexperienced....this is expected but I'm not blaming Tim for the goals conceded.
Just my opinion Ozz
-
I do get the impression that Sherwood is one of these managers who believes the team should impose itself on the opposition, rather than react to what they're doing.
Do Villa have players who can impose themselves on other teams? Probably not against most teams in the Premiership, otherwise we wouldn't be in the bottom half of the table
-
sanchez bacuna tiring
-
If you think that the manager is not responsible for the bad defending of the players that he selected in the starting XI you have a poor opinion of the coach's role....
-
Kozak, Gil and Veretout on please.
-
Some of our final ball quality is terrible. I'd like to see Gil and Veretout on.
-
I do get the impression that Sherwood is one of these managers who believes the team should impose itself on the opposition, rather than react to what they're doing.
I get the impression sometimes he puts numbers in a bag and picks them out at random when it comes to team selection.
-
Bacuna for Gil seems pretty obvious. Vertout for Sanchez might be worth a go too.
Kozak for Gestede too please!
-
Kozak, Gil and Veretout on please.
I think Gil for Bacuna would be a good change at this point.
-
Palace winning at Chelsea. What bollocks will mourinho come out with tonight
-
Make a change!
-
Come on Gil... now's your chance
-
If you think that the manager is not responsible for the bad defending of the players that he selected in the starting XI you have a poor opinion of the coach's role....
Huh!
Players being humans, you know, like humans make mistakes, you pass the buck and blame someone else for an individual mistakes!?
Yes he's picked the back four, I think 99% of us would of picked the same....are we at fault for a misplaced pass and player turning Clark inside out? No...we're not.
-
Kozak, Gil and Veretout on please.
I think Gil for Bacuna would be a good change at this point.
Fuck, now I can't slag off Tim's tactics for the rest of this game.
-
Westwood really isn't an attacking midfielder is he?
-
We need to win this game.
-
Sanchez is having a terrific game.
-
We need to win this game.
We have been unlucky with injuries today, but a striker with movement instead of Gestede and we would be comfortably up at the moment.
-
Gueye looks to be tiring.
-
Sanchez is having a terrific game.
Another poster said he was abysmal, it's wonderful what different fans opinions are
-
Gestede has offered very little today, or we haven;t played to his strengths, but what is the point of having a strong bench of we're not going to use it? Surely now is the time for trying Ayew?
-
If you think that the manager is not responsible for the bad defending of the players that he selected in the starting XI you have a poor opinion of the coach's role....
Huh!

Yes he's picked the back four, I think 99% of us would of picked the same....are we at fault for a misplaced pass and player turning Clark inside out? No...we're not.
I also would have picked him in the starting XI as I rate him, but he is being very poor this season so far.
One thing is an individual, occasional, mistake, another is a defender that doesn't know the defensive movements and position.
A coach is supposed to teach these things, but seeing the goals that we use to concede even to crap opponents, I begin to think that he is not doing this.
-
Get Kozak on for Gestede.
-
Gestede has offered very little today, or we haven;t played to his strengths, but what is the point of having a strong bench of we're not going to use it? Surely now is the time for trying Ayew?
He would be even poorer I am afraid.
And he costed 9 mln of £!
-
Gueye running on empty last five mins, need a change there
Id push Sinclair up top, dont think he wants to play on the left
-
Hmm. Seeing enough of Gil here (his movement, passing) to think he is unlucky not to be starting.
-
We should be winning this game it's vital we get another goal.
-
Make a change, either Veretout or Kozak.
-
Hmm. Seeing enough of Gil here (his movement, passing) to think he is unlucky not to be starting.
I agree looks like he has more time than other players.
-
I think this is comfortably the worst defence we will face this season. We could really have done with Jack today.
-
If you think that the manager is not responsible for the bad defending of the players that he selected in the starting XI you have a poor opinion of the coach's role....
Huh!
Players being humans, you know, like humans make mistakes, you pass the buck and blame someone else for an individual mistakes!?
Yes he's picked the back four, I think 99% of us would of picked the same....are we at fault for a misplaced pass and player turning Clark inside out? No...we're not.
I also would have picked him in the starting XI as I rate him, but he is being very poor this season so far.
One thing is an individual, occasional, mistake, another is a defender that doesn't know the defensive movements and position.

I think Clark has improved a lot the last season, but any player fucks up from time to time....it's no biggie and you certainly can't lay the blame at Sherwood for that.
That's ridiculous in my opinion considering Clark has been pretty solid so far.
-
That's not a dive.
-
Yes, when we could play with Gil and Jack behind Sinclair I think we could pick some satisfaction....
-
Gil booked for diving but he could have scored
-
Use the subs!
-
That's not a dive.
Dive :)

If you saw Ayew midweek then he's lucky to actually be on the bench.
-
Clark has surely improved last season but he has been very poor in this season so far.
-
Come on...how about a Gil screamer?
-
Westwood you have to score.

How has he been solid?
-
Unlucky Ashley, I take it all back
-
Fucking score Villa.
-
This will be so disappointing not to capitalize on this game.
And in other games West Ham winning, Palace who have had a great start to the season winning at Chelsea.
-
Get Kozak on.
-
Rudy getting into it now
-
We're playing some good football at times, it has to be said.
-
Kozak please tim
-
We are in deep trouble this season. This is a game you have to win if you want to be clear of trouble.
-
Fucking hell Sunderland are woeful we desperately need to win.
-

Yes, it's sooooooooooo frustrating and disappointing.......
We always commit the same mistakes........
Shall we ever grow?

I think we are seeing gradual improvement, and we'll be fine.

It is, what, the fourth game of the season and you're talking about must win games and being in deep trouble?
-

FFS...I really can't get my breath with that statement.
Get a grip.

I think we should be showing more than gradual against a piss poor side like Sundrland

Well we are playing better football than at pretty much any time under Lambert last season. We just can't finish. We have much less settled side than any other side in the league. As disappointing as this would be there are positives to draw.
-
Would just be nice to win a home game in the prem
-
A draw against these would be embarrassing. It's bad enough they've got 2 goals.
-
Fucking hell Sunderland are woeful we desperately need to win.
We haven't done enough to deserve the 3 points.
-

Embarassing is the right word.
-
I see a team that is starting to understand each other... It's not a disaster. Not great, but not a disaster.
-
I fully expect Paddy Power to pay out on our relegation this evening.

And we have just faced Bournemouth and Sunderland that probably are the two worst teams.....

That's a great comment frustrating and disappointing. Isn't that what being a Villa fan is all about!

71 points from the last 71 home games :(

Well, we've scored twice and created other chances, we've dominated possession, and the new boys look like they're starting to understand each other a bit better. Our movement has been quite good in the final third. If Clark had cleaned out Lens instead of doing an impression of a little girl, we'd be looking at a good win.

No, we've faced Man Utd and Sunderland.

We don't win anything like enough matches but I can not believe people are rolling out terms like "deep in trouble" after four games. Insane.
Just like saying we were looking like potential league winners after four games last season would have been.
-
Frustrated!
-
Fucking hell Sunderland are woeful we desperately need to win.

I think we have really.
We've huffed and puffed but that's about it really.
-
People booing....baffles me.
-
Game time?
-
2 points dropped!
-
I must stop looking at match threads, I thought the cricket thread was full of hyperbole but to be describing the fourth match of the season as a must win and such like is just silly.

Well a win, but I suppose any win at present has to be good
-
What a waste.
Really disappointed.
-
Ref gave us fuck all in the 2nd half, the worst bit their keeper and right back waste about a minute after the 4 goes up, ref makes a big show of pointing at his watch to say it's all being tracked, and then blows up dead on the 4 minutes.
-

Yup. Why wouldn't players do it if there is no comeuppance at all.
-
I think Clark cost us the 3 points with that defending. Even though he started with a bad pass, Gil should have come on earlier. Bacuna frustrates me. So did Gestede today, but I will give him time... Gana and Amavi look good. And glad to see Sinclair score again, he is much better than Gabby.
-
Well I actually enjoyed that. A masterful midfield defensive performance from Carlos, great energy from Gana, Amavi can certainly cross a dangerous ball and two more goals from Scott. Pity we missed four presentable second half chances but as famous ex manager once said
We go again!!
Carles was a significent addition as well.
