Chicken and egg with brad though. Now he knows Tim wants shot of him it wouldn't surprise me if he became a busted flush.

I have been wondering whether history will endlessly repeat itself

New manager just about escaped relegation but takes some trouncings along the way. Sense of excitement for the next season but the fear factor overtakes an inexperienced guy and villa become pretty dull and uninspiring. Multiple promises that the squad is growing and will really be something in a couple of years

Let's hope not. It's fair to say this line up doesn't suggest as such! But then neither did playing four forwards against Bradford

Well, at least previous managers feigned interest in all of the similar ties e.g. before losing to Orient et al in the last 7 years. Whereas Tim wants nothing between 5-0 and 0-1.

I'm not a big fan of poring over managers' statements when they've got a microphone stuck in their face but that strikes me as the first volley in an 'I'm on a hiding to nothing' campaign. Hope not.

Not being shown on any tv channel in the world according to liveonsat.com. I will have to listen to it on AVTV like some sort of caveman

Amazing the sense of entitlement I have these days.

Seeing as Tim has decided to play every attacker at the club it may be a good game.

I hate to bitch about Sherwood, but I wish there was a bit more consistency in the formations he chooses.  Some continuity would help players develop patterns of play and greater confidence in where they should be moving.  Take Sanchez for instance, he played well for 60 minutes on saturday in his first game and then he's shunted to CB to start all over.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Justice is served.
Celtic have a goal disallowed from a corner for pushing on the keeper by Griffiths and it's a really soft call.

2 minutes earlier Griffiths should have been sent off for punching a Malmö player in the nuts, but somehow only got a yellow.

Got to be said, since half time against Palace, Tim has been tactically bloody awful. Ray needs to have a bloody word! Lambert, Bradford home.

I'd be more than happy if tonight we match the one goal winning margin that we had in that game.

I think Sherwood's totally underestimated County and is paying the price. I imagine Lambert is laughing his boll*cks off

Of course, Lamberts record in cup games against lower league opposition was stellar.

Add Mcleish and O'Neill to that list as well

It will take a while for the team to gel but I don't know if there are really any excuses for shipping three to a fourth division side, at home.

That starting line up was worryingly nuts

Even if that team did gel it would have no bearing on future matches as there no way he'd, anyone!, would replicate that formation.

The problem is, these shit, lower league sides jusr dont fear us. They really fancy their chances and rwlish a trip to beat us at Villa Park. They raise their game, we underestimate them and the result is inevitable.

I reckon that's spot on.

That's the same situation that any big club would be in though. We seem to do it more than most though.

No-one fears us at Villa Park

Hardly surprising, really

The only people who have feared us at home in the last five years are us fans, scared of the endless servings up of lukewarm vomit.

Can't really argue with any of that

Well having lost the last few last season, been embarrassed in the cup final, having lost the last two games in a row after a lucky smash and grab why didn't the fucking twats put out our best team, get the job done and then rest players. I'm fucking sick of us being embarrassed. Lose today and I'm through with him. Already.

When do we decide that the team has had enough time and they aren't still trying to gel? Its ok signing all these promising players but if we cant do the basics then whats the point?

Is it the players who can't do the basics or the manager who can't create a side with tactical nous and players who can take scoring opportunities

Techtonic plates shifting Villa Park 0.03° and fucking up its Feng shui? Buggered if I know, but it seems to turn out the same, whoever's manager, whichever players. I don't get it!

The very last thing we need is another 30 minutes of play against a fourth division team in the week of the crucial Sunderland game.

Apart from grealish who will play on Saturday?

I do not know,  thanks God I am not in TS'head, and I still haven't understood with which formation we have played tonight.

Well Joe Cole set up the 4th so I think you might want to reconsider your statement there.

edit: They both had a hand in the goals to win the game. The gold was found at the bottom of the barrel!
