After booking my League Cup ticket, I asked the TO when tickets for Liverpool will be on sale.
They say that ticket sales for this gave have been "postponed" while they deal with the cup tickets.
Tickets will probably go on sale next week.

1,800? Seems a bit paltry?

1,800? Seems a bit paltry?
They seem to be adopting a policy this season of only requesting the minimum allocation and asking for more if there is sufficient demand. Don't forget that any unsold tickets over the minimum, the club will still get charged for and at £45 a pop, that's potentially more than £50k the club would be liable for.

This has been happening for some games for the last couple of seasons at least. There's a thread somewhere where I posted the reasoning that the TO gave me (which basically matches that outlined by Joe)

The online sales were acting up earlier. The website kept telling me that tickets were unavailable, so I had to order over the phone

In corporate for this one , never been in corporate at anfield, I imagine it will be a bit different
-
Sold out apparently. In the unlikely event of anyone having a couple of spares can I be the first person to ask people to PM me.....

Apparently the food is amazing.
-
we go about are amazing away support but the club arn't confident of selling anything over the initial allocation, 1800 tickets is pathetic
I need 3 tickets if anyone can help, but I'm not holding my breath
-
Why is it "pathetic" ??
£47 is a ridiculous price , it's a bloody expensive day out when you add on transport costs etc
-
It was an initial allocation, as with Crystal Palace and Leicester, so I assume there's scope to request more if there's sufficient demand.

how do they know if there is more demand, people like me who book on-line just get the 'sold out' sign and that's it, they wont know how many people want tickets

I asked the ticket office today and they said they aren't expecting to get any more. When I asked about the 1800 being low (compared to previous seasons) the girl said she wouldn't know but thinks it was all they would give us, which sounded odd

Anyone wishing for a post match drink in town head the the American (Yankee) bar round the corner from the station, we went in there after the Everton game last year and had a great laugh, we arrived and an 80 year old on stage serenaded us through the door with an accordian singing Irish folk songs, it was packed with old crooners and dolly birds and the Kareoke soon took over, it was rammed with a great mix of people and as the evening went on the young'n's came in, great place for a boogie and a sing song.

Dolly birds ? Sounds like my sort of place
