Does anyone have any idea when ticket exchange partner will be announced(previously Viagogo) as i cannot attend man u game and am desperate to sell my season ticket sests. Not good AVFC not having this sorted so close to start of season!. Website says announcement w/c 27 July!
-
Although I shall be attending that game, I would also quite like to know!
That's if my ST ever turns up...
-
I asked the ticket office a couple of days ago. They are in the process of arranging something, but it wont be in place until after the Sunderland match at the earliest.
-
so if tbat late will the club give me the £80 plus that i will lose for the most sought after game of the season.
poor show by the club if that is true

You can't really blame them if you bought a ticket for a match you can't get to.

I fully understand where Malcolm is coming from. If people want the Villa to be a big club then it will reach out to people outside the WM area. I am sure quite a few people decided on season tickets on the basis if they could not get to the Friday night games the 11am games on a Sunday morning they could at least transfer their seat for the game.
We are living in 2015 not 1977, I may not like it but football has moved on.
-
I'm in the same boat Malcolm , shame the club haven't sorted this out by now. Shame no longer viagogo thought they offered a good service

exactly - bought season tickets on basis that with all of the date changes that i could sell if need be - pissed off enough that unavoidably cant go to the game (first time in 52 yrs watching villa that i have missed man u game) andcompounded by losingout on possible £80 because something that should be in place BEFORE SEASON STARTS isnt. i have missed less than 10 home games in 50 years

why no Viagogo now ? Have contract ended ?

yes i can that is a crap answer - When i bought my season ticket it was on the basis that they have a ticket exhange partner and who would have thought (not you i bet!) that a match would be on a Friday night which is first ever friday night game since sky premier league began and i cannot think of another friday night game ever in my 52 years of watching the villa so i dont need your smarty pants reply .

No, it's a perfectly civil reply. Should I not be allowed to disagree with you?
-
Bizarre they haven't tied anything up with another ticket supplier yet I must say.
The season is starting, people want to use the service like in previous seasons and nothing.

Perhaps they won't have a resale ticket partner ?

I must admit, when it was first advertised I thought: hold on, they may be looking at the deal purely as a service to season ticket holders who miss a few matches, but what about the the effects of discounts on the buyer side, not to mention charges and commissions involved. Sure enough, before very long everyone and their uncle, including me, were posting on this site that we would not be getting a season tickets as we could attend the the games we chose by using Viagogo and saving a packet. Some devious elements even said you could buy a heavily discounted ticket in the wings of the Upper Triniity, and then pick your seat in the centre at your leisure.
Nonetheless, once the club decided to become involved in the project, they should not withdraw it without an explanation to the fans as to their reasons for so doing.
-
It doesn't really work for the club does it when on average there are 10,000 empty seats
-

I would guess they get paid by Viagogo and there's also a secondary effect that it keeps season ticket sales up.
-
Maybe the club will just have more special offers of their own to try to sell tickets in the less desirable areas; eg right next to the away fans, upper TR wings, close to the bloody drum, anywhere near Legion etc
-
In fairness they're doing early bird tickets for all games which is a good idea.
My Dad's over 65 now so his tickets will be around 20 quid for most of the games e.g. Cat B and C.
That was what I purchased for Sunderland game anyway, 27quid for one adult and 21 quid for concession. Not as cheap as Viagogo but not as dear as the regular prices for the game. Not bothering with Man. United.

Gutted really as can't go Friday so need to shift 1'adult and 1 u18 seats

as mr woodhall would say why buy tickets for a match you cant attend you must be a plonker like me who is in same position. after all you should have known that avfc would play their first ever friday evening fixture (good friday apart) in 142 years! sarcasm intended
-
We played Liverpool on a Friday night on a frozen pitch.

Quite why you should launch into another dig at me when my sole comment on the matter was a perfectly civil one is beyond me. Answer that and I'll give you a list of the Friday night games we've played over the years.

I was at that match, was it The BBCs first live league match ?
Back on topic, my son can't go on Friday & he has a junior season ticket, will I be able to use it ? I've borrowed a pensioners season ticket in the past with no problem.

Iirc we played the Albion on a pre-Christmas Friday night in 1987-88

And West Brom in 1987/88.

West Ham was played on a good friday in the late 90s I think.

My suggestion is kindly give your season ticket away to a friend or maybe offer it somebody for face value of the ticket.

very sensible suggestion - that is exactly what i would have done had villa not said a partner would be announced imminently but i am out of the country until after the match and i have season cards with me so that i could register and sell my tickets .
-
apologies to mr woodhall for my comments and my unresearched friday facts particularly as i was at the games mentioned. I would like to blame too much sun and alcohol but lets just go with too much sun!!
-
I can understand your frustration, but you do seem to be throwing well intentioned suggestions back in people's faces.
It sounds like there are likely takers on here and I have always found the ticket office very helpful in resolving ticketing issues. If you end up trusting someone to send you a cheque for £80 for paper tickets that you have authorised the ticket office to issue then you are still in a better position that you are now.
As it stands, if you do nothing then Sky's ownership of football will have contributed to you watching sod all but £80 going down the drain. Welcome to a not very exclusive club.

You can telephone the ticket office and ask them to download a paper ticket for the person you want to pass it on to. They can collect it before the game. They just need your name and postcode.
(They can cancel your season card for that game remotely)
-
To be honest, I'm not sure why someone who's missed 10 home games in 50 years would be really buy a season ticket on the understanding that Viagogo was there.
-

Apology accepted. I also seem to remember a Friday night game against Middlesbrough in about 1978-79 that was shifted because of the Motor Show for some reason. We lost and Terry Cochrane ripped Gary Williams to bits.

without going into detail i went for 50 yrs with my father who passed away b4 start of last season. family circumstances have changed and i now have to finance 2 season tickets rather than one. these circumstances also mean i may have to miss more matches than b4. i bought 2 season tickets on basis that those matches i could not attend would be financially compensated by the ticket exchange facility. i am probably not as rich as most of you posters appear to be lol!

2-0? remember that game well. I was sat in the directors box for that one. Was that the same season as Luton 0-2 also? maybe in the League Cup? I was in the directors box for that one also.

Just blame the EDL. Or the police, or. The government. Or ISIS, or the taliban, or maybe Hitler, but whatever you do, don't Blame it on the boogie.

I've seen someone post something along the lines of "if you can't make a game, contact the ticket office, they will sell the ticket for you and credit you a percentage onto your Villa Cash card. This can be done until the new ticket exchange is announced". They said that's what they did last night.
Assuming it's true, it's better than nothing.

I had that mentioned to me last night but I don't know if it's an official scheme or just the TO trying to be helpful.

Fees seem to price based. £31 ticket + £6.99 fee. £41 ticket + £8.99 fee. Bargain!!
-
Oh dear, looks like the end of the cheap Upper trinity tickets.
At least the club are doing earlybird prices now which knocks a fiver or so off the tickets so will be using that instead,

Just made a purchase for Sunderland, so we'll see how they compare with Viagogo.
-
I agree with SoccerHQ, I have just had a look at the seatwave site. There are only tickets there for the Sunderland and Stripeys matches, but most of them are cost price. There are some discounted but it looks like they may not sell as they have been listed as linked seats (you can only buy them as a pair). Surely that is not a good idea for the seller as if they listed them separately then then someone who wants a single might dip in; surely one ticket sold is better than none.
Also it seems that most of the tickets are listed by the club. I am wondering how that works - do they list some on the OS and others on the partner site? Who would buy from the partner with additional costs when you can get the tickets from the OS for less?
-
Just bought one for Saturday off Seatwave. £23 all in with the fees they add on.
Ended up saving £2 than if I'd have bought it direct off the Villa!

Technically, you are buying direct from Villa because they add your purchases to your booking history.

Got mine a week ago, said they'd send it to my home address if ordered over a week before the game but nothing turned up so checked and it has to be collected.
Will get down early as the last time I did that before Sunderland at home last season I was in the wrong line for 20 minutes and then stuck behind a family of 6 printing off their tickets so missed first 15 minutes (mind you it was that good should've missed the whole game).
Do you need to take email confirmation or is card enough?

They (Viagogo/Seatwave) have never asked me for anything, apart from my name and sometimes my first line of address.
I've never seen any queues or people printing off tickets. I just go straight up to the window marked with my Surname initial at the pick up point kiosk. (Not the TO)
-
The queues for the Sunderland game just a few minutes before kick off at the ticket office were ridiculous (most likely due to cash ticket sales on the day). We were picking up tickets and were told by staff (in high vis jackets) that we had to wait in the queue that snaked around the side of the building. Fortunately I have very little patience and found out that we were able to collect them from the Trinity Rd kiosk, however the situation isn't helped by misinformation being given by staff.

Not many good offers to be had on there by the looks of it. Still trying to offload a load of £31 and more off for tomorrows match. They haven't learned have they

If you've used SW for completed purchases, you may have a £5 off your next purchase voucher in your email, check junk.
After a 30 seconds clicky review of your SW experience, they'll then credit it.
